A hacker and her Pokemon

[It's very rare for Fumi to take a break from any of her various projects, and even rarer for her to be strolling around outside while doing so.  But the stars must have aligned in some strange way, because today both of those things are taking place.  She's got her laptop secured under one arm, and the other hand is busy holding onto a leash.  It isn't a dog or a cat at the other end, though, but a strange looking multicolored duck creature that looks like something out of a bad 1980s computer graphics demo.  The Porygon floats along obediently at Fumi's side, making happy little electronic chirping noises as the two walk along.  She's taking it for a nice long walk today, and can be found in almost any district in the city, so feel free to stop them and say hello.]

[Coincidentally M'gann is also out with her Pokemon today. Conner the Machop is enjoying his time in the park is currently lifting one of the benches over his head. M'gann waves at Fumi when she notices her.]

Porygon is a man-made Pokemon composed entirely of programming code. It's just as comfortable inside a computer as it is out here, and has the ability to travel freely between our own world and what could quite literally be called 'cyberspace.' It's quite fascinating, really.

[She gets a smile this time. And a happy little digital chirp from Porygon. It sounds like a happy 56k dial-up modem.]

"Oh, right, I've been meaning to tell you! There was some big news from out of Kalos back home!"

Kotoha bounces on her toes, obviously waiting for a leading question to be asked.

Sadly, by this point in their relationship, Kotoha has gotten used to Fumi Kanno: Fun Police. So she'll just throw up the jazz hands and make her announcement.

"Dah dah dah~! The lost 18th type has reappeared! Fairy type Pokemon once more wander the world!"

...Fairy type.

...That makes even less sense as an elemental type than the other seventeen.

Kotoha shrugs a little.

"I don't know all the details, but apparently Fairy types are immune to Dragon type attacks."

Interesting. How are they offensively against the Dragon type? Up until now, it would seem that type was overwhelmingly the most powerful compared to the others, if somewhat rare.

[Ridiculous as she finds it, Fumi has been studying her Pokedex.]

"Fairy types are good against...Dark, Dragon, and Fighting, I think?"

Slight pause.

"Also, for some reason the return of the Fairies has changed a few things - Steel-types no longer resist Dark and Ghost attacks."

"Yeah, beats me why. Didn't have much time to catch up on more than the basics back home; I was too busy dealing with the Kalosian Fashion Mafia."

Next to her, Arthur looks faintly disgruntled, scuffing at the ground with a hindpaw.

"Oh, don't be like that, Arthur; it'd been forever since I got to work with Spiracle and Big Mama."

[You know what, she's not even going to ask. Fumi closes her mouth as quickly as she opened it.]

...Hm. Yes.
