The Search for the Newcomers, November 2012 Edition.
Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city, anywhere from the 5th to the 20th.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.
[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.
The COMPS had been upgraded with a new program, HORUS which allowed them to spot abnormalities; if something or someone showed up suddenly in a city that was constantly scanned, then there was a high probability it was a newcomer. There was also a sort of left energy from the travel; the Wise Men called it leftover Magatama Residue, where the magical energy used to pull them to this world and keep the String intact was still faintly present around them. It wouldn't last more than a few minutes, however, and due to the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult. As the blips appear on your radar function, they were nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there.
Now it was just left up to chance and make sure you got there fast enough that you were still able to find them relatively easily. For the most part, the fact they stuck out would most certainly help...
[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.
There is one word that stays with you, however.
Persona.
So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...
[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

With a groan, Lea leaned on the nearest building and smeared both hands down his face.
This was hard. He'd gone through the classifieds, but everything just sounded... so mundane. Cooks, waiters, cashiers... well he couldn't really do that: he could make a mean sandwich and was top-notch at noodles, but Lea never would have called himself a chef. And the idea of serving anyone again, even if it was just serving them food, just really didn't sound appealing. The police force was hiring, it seemed, but he didn't think he was cut out for that sort of thing, either; Lea had a brave streak in him, sure, but he wasn't about to put his ass on the line for a bunch of strangers.
So what was he supposed to do? He guessed he could live with the idea of sleeping on the floor so he and the kids could live together, but it was certainly far from ideal. He'd thought to himself on more than one occasion that if he was ever able, he would have spoiled Roxas and Xion absolutely rotten, and lamented the lack of both means and opportunity. They hadn't even been allowed to have childhoods, after all, and while no one would have called Lea a philanthropist, he was more than generous when his friends were involved.
Opportunity was knocking, but the means it was offering were crap.
Folding up the newspaper clipping and shoving it into his pocket, Lea folded his arms and frowned at the crowd milling about the square. He wondered if there was anyone who just needed someone to dig up dirt on people--he'd be great at that.
As he lazily watched the mass of people move about, an oddly familiar thatch of brown hair moved through the crowd. ... Wait, what? It couldn't be.
Pushing off the building and moving into the sea of people, Lea kept a few paces behind the brown-haired figure. Really, there was no mistaking that hair, but... what the hell was he doing here? Wasn't he taking the longest nap in the history of ever?
He caught up easily, his legs significantly longer than the boy's, and reached out to plant a hand on his shoulder, gently arresting his movements.
"... Sora?"
The kid wouldn't recognize him, he figured, since so far as he knew the events that had taken place at Castle Oblivion had been wiped from his memories, but he had to make sure. If Sora was here, then the discussion with Roxas about exactly whose Nobody he was might have been a bit more inevitable than he thought...

Maybe it would seem silly to some, but Sora had never ignored a chance to explore every detail of a new place. And this certainly was new - Sora had seen shopping areas on other worlds, but nothing quite like this. There was so much going on that he could barely figure out where to look first. This meant that his compromise was to try looking everywhere at once, which was great for thoroughness but not for speed.
In fact, even if he hadn't had the advantage of long legs, Lea probably would have had no trouble catching up to the boy. Sora was moving through the crowd at a snai'ls pace, trying to figure out where to stop next.
But his attention is diverted from exploration when he feels a hand on his shoulder. He stops, surprised, and hearing his name as he turns around confirms that this definitely wasn't an accident. Someone he knew was trying to get his attention.
And, contrary to Lea's expectations, Sora recognizes this person almost right away.
Sure, they hadn't met more than a few hours before, but he had one of those faces that was pretty hard to forget (and Sora was pretty good at remembering people, anyway). This had to be him! Honestly, he was glad - judging from the way she and Roxas reacted when he showed up at their birthday party, Xion would probably be really happy to have him here, if she didn't know already.
"Lea?" he asked, still notably surprised but definitely not confused. "You ended up here, too?"

How unexpected. Granted, he was already well aware that Sora was a boy full of surprises, but they had faced each other in Castle Oblivion as enemies. Lea wasn't quite sure how to approach Sora as an ally, and anything he might have been planning to say suddenly flew out the window, carried on a big gust of confusion.

Despite talking to Xion earlier, it doesn't really occur to Sora that Lea might also, somehow, be from an earlier point in time. Not yet, anyway.
"Why wouldn't I?"
