The hypocrisy inherent in his words does not escape her, but picking at it now wouldn't help with their problem any. She expects that Maugris has two sets of morals he follows in his head - those applicable to normal life and those necessary to maintain the Masquerade. On occasion, they did not, perhaps, always agree.
