After the (mostly) harmless chaos of Halloween, the city lies dormant for a few days in the aftermath. Otherworldly quests, demonic pranks, and of course, the continued threat of the 13th Hour has no doubt worn down both citizens and Visitors alike. It's time for a bit of R&R and good old fashioned fun. Early the morning of November 4th, the first snowflakes begin to drift gently to the ground as the weather eases gently into the winter months...

By the time the city awakens, a light dusting of snow already lies upon the streets. Responsible citizens emerge to shovel the walkways, but it's soon evident that their efforts are of little use. The snowstorm, though not fierce, continues unabated throughout the day and by early afternoon, a good foot of snow covers Hinoto-Ri. Most have given up on accomplishing anything useful, preferring to wait out the storm, and the majority of shops and businesses unceremoniously remain closed.

The weather clears enough by 2PM to become the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a day off. Laughing children emerge to hold snowball fights in the middle of the streets, snowmen and sleds appear all over Capricorn, and the general atmosphere is congenial, relaxed, and soothing. Feel free to participate in the games or simply to sit with your friends by a cozy fire, playing board games or reading books or drinking a mug of cocoa. If you're particularly altruistic, you may even get a jump start on shoveling off the streets. The first snowfall is always a magical time of year. You almost can't help the feeling that it's... too peaceful.

"Desco is doing great! The corrupternment has officially placed their necks under Desco's heel, acknowledging her as the absolute ruler of Hinoto-Ri!"

She is clearly quite pleased with herself.

"Desco wants to make sure you are remembering to pick up your paycheck at City Hall! She made you a minister, after all, and paid minions are loyal minions!"

"Er..."

Wait.

Huh?

"You... aren't joking about that, are you...?"

[tyrantball]

"Why would Desco joke? Denying minions their paychecks for no reason is just asking them to stab you in the back!"

"I wouldn't-" No, wait, more importantly--

"You mean... You now have government funding?"

[tyrantball]

"Hmhmhmhm! They appointed an official liaison, so that they might more perfectly carry out Desco's will! What else could that be other than a sign of Desco's TOTAL DOMINATION?"

[eyewillprotect]

"..."

She gets the feeling there's more to this story than she's getting, but for now at least:

"A paycheck won't be necessary. Please leave my share with the government instead."

[tyrantball]

"That won't do! Desco is fine with you not spending your paycheck on yourself, but not accepting it at all will lower your standing among her other peons!"

Leveling one crimson claw at Aoi.

"This is a royal command from the Queen of Evil Deeds! If you don't want your money, then spend it on others, but not one thin hell is to be spent on the corrupternment!"

"Then couldn't it be considered a donation to them?"

Just taking money from the government like this, that could be spent on protecting the citizens instead... Aoi wants no part of it.

[tyrantball]

Desco crosses her arms over her chest and pouts.

"Donate it to the citizens, then!"

[eyewillprotect]

"Why is it so important for me to receive the money? Is that the only thing that indicates my position?

Really, I'd rather not be paid for this to begin with."

[tyrantball]

"Desco will not be accused of neglecting her minions! Desco has a responsibility to take care of you!"

The three golden eyes down the front of her dress narrow into stern glares.

"If you don't pick up your paycheck, Desco will break into your house and leave it in the fridge!"

"Break into my-- Rather than neglecting your subordinates, you'd harass them instead?"

[tyrantball]

"If you don't care about yourself enough to accept your paycheck, then obviously Desco has to care for you!"

Desco sticks her tongue out at this.

"Stuuuuuupid! If Desco is interested enough to remember your name, that means your life has value! Therefore, she won't let your dumb self-esteem issues get in the way of your well-being!"

"It isn't an issue of self-esteem. It's an issue of doing what's right. I already work for the government, and my paycheck is plenty enough for me. I don't need to take more when the money could be better spent on resources that the people of this city need."

[tyrantball]

"...why didn't you just say you were already getting a paycheck?"

All of her eyes narrowed, Desco extends her hand and traces a line between the three eyes on her face and Aoi.

"From now on, Desco is going to be watching you!"

"To be honest, I didn't even realize you would take it this far." She's still not even sure how Desco managed to get the government to agree.

"But that should settle things, right?"

[tyrantball]

"Watching you!"

Desco, all of her eyes still narrowed, will now just form a heart shape with her thumbs and forefingers.

"Moe moe kyun."

Her gang sign having been properly thrown down, she slowly floats off backwards, keeping her eyes locked on Aoi the entire time.

"Er... what...?"

Aoi just watches her float off, looking incredibly confused.
