Summary: The Ebon Triad is up to no good, and the Shining Trapezohedron has sent Visitors to stop them.
Warnings: Pokemon can get PRETTY DARK sometimes.

No matter what you were doing before, when the dazzling flash of light clears you find yourself at the base of a Ferris wheel in what seems to be an amusement park, a vague memory of someone asking 'Now, are you a boy? Or a girl?' running through your head.

Wherever you are, it's definitely not Hinoto-Ri. And just what are those strange creatures that everyone else seems to be taking for granted?

Well as long as no one gets hurt, there's no reason to hesitate.

"I just have to prove that I'm tough, right? Well, let's go!

She rolls up her sleeves. This is just a step on the road to living up to Shizuo-ni-chan.

"Burr!"

Oh hey a wild pokemon has appeared! It slams the wooden post it is hefting into the ground and takes up a crane stance on top of it.

"Timburr!"

"Aww!"

Her first reaction is to squeal because it's really cute, but then she remembers that she has to take this match seriously. She drops into a fighting stance, trying to pretend this was just like a sparring session in her martial arts class back home.

"Um... I mean, I accept your challenge!"

Kotoha is making frantic gestures.

"Patrat! Send out Patrat!"

Akane glances back in surprise.

"Huh? But I thought you said it wanted to see my strength..."

She's frowning in confusion, but Kotoha knows best, so Akane will toss out the borrowed pokemon.

"Um, Patrat, Go!"

"By 'strength' I meant how good you are at training Pokemon!"

Akane is obviously a natural-born Battle Girl.

As the ball splits open and discharges Patrat, it bounces in place and chitters eagerly. The Timburr responds by dropping out of its crane stance and striking a bodybuilder pose.

"Then you should have said that!"

She's from Ikebukurou. And she hangs out with criminals. Test your strength is usually pretty literal.

"What next?"

"Weaken it with Patrat's Tackle and throw a pokeball!"

"Okay!"

She points dramatically as she yells. Dramatic pointing helps, right?

"Patrat, tackle!"

"Patrat!"

The small rodent pokemon hurls himself at the Timburr, chittering excitedly.

Not wanting to take her eyes off the battle, Akane fumbles for the pokeball in her pocket. When she pulls it out, she risks a glance back at Kotoha.

"Should I throw it now?"

Kotoha nods excitedly.

"Go for it!"

[blessed_by_the_world]

"Okay!"

She hurls the pokeball at the Timburr.

"Go!"

Dramatic yelling just seems especially appropriate right now.

It is entirely appropriate. The pokeball makes a strange whooshing sound as it flies at the Timburr, shakes once, and is still.

She spends a second on edge, watching to see if anything else will happen. When the ball remains still, she lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding and jumps up and down a couple of times.

"I-it worked! I did it!"

"Congratulations! Are you going to give him a name?"

[blessed_by_the_world]

"Yes! I'm going to call him Shizuo."

She's naming him after the strongest person she knows.

Kotoha clicks her tongue a couple times and scoops up her Patrat as it runs over in response.

"That's good! Timburr are masters of construction, you know!"

Akane giggles. It's funny because his namesake is more a master of destruction.

"You mean they can build buildings and stuff? They must be pretty smart."

Cheerful nod.

"There's old stories about how Timburr, Gurdurr, and Conkledurr were actually the ones to teach humans how to make buildings!"

"Wow..."

She's impressed. And trying to imagine people learning to build things by watching these cute little animals.

"Maybe Shizuo can help me out in the store then."
