Summary: The Ebon Triad is up to no good, and the Shining Trapezohedron has sent Visitors to stop them.
Warnings: Pokemon can get PRETTY DARK sometimes.

No matter what you were doing before, when the dazzling flash of light clears you find yourself at the base of a Ferris wheel in what seems to be an amusement park, a vague memory of someone asking 'Now, are you a boy? Or a girl?' running through your head.

Wherever you are, it's definitely not Hinoto-Ri. And just what are those strange creatures that everyone else seems to be taking for granted?

The sights are vaguely reminiscent of the Dark City, he muses, but unlike there, this place is sunny and bright, and there are actual people here instead of Heartless lurking in the shadows. He's crouched near the ferris wheel, eyes not on it but on a little white thing. It's a mammal, is all he can deduce, but it's got round, black ears, yellow wing-flaps and a sail-like tail. Sometimes static crackles on its yellow cheeks when it moves. It's friendly, is all he knows for sure.

"What are you, little guy...?"

What a weird human. Can humans even be Steel-types?

"Emolga! Ga ga emol."

oh shit apparently he's in kid form but he's keeping his memories so let's just run with it

"Emolga? That's your name?" Not that... saying its name over and over makes much sense, but he'll go with it. He's met Pokemon before, but Serperior and Emolga are so different that he's not making the connection.

"You probably can't tell me where I am, then, huh...?"

[stringsmon]

Headshake.

"Emolga."

[resipiscent]

"Dang. Uh... well, okay. Thanks anyway, Emolga." He sighs gently, then plops down beside it, looking around at all the people. "Too bad I don't know anybody here. One of them could tell me."

[stringsmon]

A young girl passing by hears the sigh and looks over at Riku and the Emolga curiously.

"Why so glum, kid? Cheer up! This is Nimbasa Amusement Park - frowns aren't allowed!"

With that admonishment, she smiles and ruffles his hair before skipping off.

[Just once M'gann would like to end up somewhere where everyone is green. This city does not seem to be that place. After assuming her human form in an alley, M'gann sets out to find information. One building stands out as a good choice, the Pokemon center. M'gann enters the building and walks up to the woman at the desk.]

Hi, I'm a little lost. I don't suppose you could tell me where I am?

The nurse smiles cheerily.

"Oh, just arrived? This is Nimbasa Town! Do you need your Pokemon healed?"

[M'gann frowns at the question.]

I don't actually have any Pokemon.

Pokemon Centers are usually bustling places filled with Trainers and locals going about their business, which makes the sudden dead silence at M'gann's announcement even more striking. The only sound is from the girl at the free PC, who straightens up and glances over at the desk before stepping briskly over.

"Oh, there you are! Megan, right? We've been looking all over for you!"

She turns and addresses the nurse.

"Sorry, she's part of a tour group I'm escorting."

M'gann might recognize the girl as someone from the slumber party Nano held a short while ago.

Ruri sat up and dusted herself off, this was not the bridge of the Nadesico, at least she didn't take the bath she was considering. Looking around she peers at the Ferris wheel, then the various tents and lets out a breath.

"Omoikane, I need a.... Omoikane? Omoikane?!"

She taps her watch again and blinks.

Kotoha, right? Is this your world? Why did everyone seem so shocked that I didn't have a Pokemon?

[stringsmon]

A nearby pantslizard wanders over and stares up at Ruri.

Ruri just looks at it and stares back.

"You don't know where someone in charge is? Perhaps where I could set up a digital relay?"

Kotoha nods.

"In order: yes, that's me, this is my world, and it's ridiculously dangerous to travel around without a Pokemon."

She looks...worried.

"What's going on? There shouldn't be anyone else from Hinoto-Ri here!"

[stringsmon]

"Scra...ggy?"

Pantslizard has no idea what you're talking about, sorry.

Well if I'm here it probably means there's trouble coming. It also means that there will be probably be others here as well.

So what exactly are Pokemon?

"They're, uh...okay, short version: living creatures with fantastic powers that cooperate and live with humans."

And now Kotoha is just thinking. Really hard.

"I'm sorry, I don't speak your language."

She shakes her head a bit.

[stringsmon]

It will just wobble forward and pat your knee gently.

"Scra scra."

[electricyousei]

"I need to find a com system. Thank you for your help though."

She bows to the scraggy, then looks around and starts for the tent.

The nearest tent is a purple color. There's a sign outside that reads Former Nimbasa City Gym.

Enter? Or not?

Amusement park...? Well, that explains the ferris wheel, but that still doesn't really tell him where he is. He's never heard of a place called Nimbasa before, but at least that confirms he's not in Hinoto-Ri anymore. Maybe another world? The kid in him is excited at that idea, though he's been to many other worlds now than he had as an actual kid.

He looks back at Emolga, then gets up, tilting his head in the direction the girl headed. "I'm gonna go see what's over there too. See ya later, Emolga."

Gyms have phones, phones are primitive com networks, com networks have data cables. With this in mind Ruri enters.

The Emolga chitters a goodbye before running up a nearby pole and gliding away.

The girl went deeper into the park - following her will lead Riku to a building with a sign outside reading Nimbasa City Gym.

What's a gym doing in an amusement park, anyway?
