After their text chat, they had apparently decided that they were going to have a muppets marathon. Athena hadn't really been to Hinoto-ri for that long, so she didn't really know a lot of people yet. It was pretty strange how this was all decided, but if she could make a new friend out of it, why not? Besides.... something about eating pizza and having a movie night was kind of nice. It actually sounded like fun.

Athena's apartment was pretty plain at the moment, but she did try to make her apartment homey. Her mother's Hat-1 jacket was hanging up. Ever since she'd discovered it, she couldn't help but keep it out. Something about having it made her feel better, even if it did make her sad to see it too.

She had gone out to grab some pop with the pizza that Bro was bringing. While she waited, she set up the living area for their movie night escapade.

[Honestly, Bro isn't taking this 'date' seriously at all. It'd started out as a big joke and considering Athena isn't his type, it'll continue to be just that. Even so, he wouldn't be himself if he didn't make it as ironic as possible. That's why he isn't wearing his trademark baseball cap. Instead, his spiky hair's been combed backwards. He's still wearing his pointy anime shades though- he doesn't go anywhere without those.

In one hand is a big bag containing two boxes of pizza and a few Muppet DVDs on top. In his other hand is a bouquet of roses because, goddammit, if he's doing an ironic date then he's doing it right. Makes it a little tricky to ring the doorbell at 7 PM sharp, but he's got this.

~ding dong~]

[All of the details may say this is a date, but she really didn't think of it as one. If anything, it could easily be two new friends hanging out, right? Athena made no effort to dress up. So she's just wearing her normal outfit. Hearing the door bell, she walked over to the door to open it.]

Right on time. Oh. Do you need help carrying something?

[She hasn't noticed the bouquet of roses yet because she's looking at all of the other stuff he had to carry.]

[She will notice the flowers soon enough, because Bro will lean forward in a bit of a bow and then hold the bouquet right under her nose. Take it, take it.]

Milady. You look absolutely stunning and shit. Let's make this evening last, 'cause it's time to play the music and light the lights.

[Oh, roses. She didn't really think of this as a "date" to begin with, but the notion of buying her a bouquet of flowers... of roses of all things, was enough to make her flush lightly. She'd never really had anyone give her flowers before. Smiling, she took them from him.]

Thank you, they're lovely. [Even when he was trying to compliment her, she couldn't help but laugh.] Stunning and shit, huh? You have a way with words.

[Just going to grin to him. Walking towards her living area, she beckoned him over.]

[He has the best way with words. The very best. That's why he shoots Athena a confident grin before waltzing his way into the apartment.]

Yeah, I'm a grade A gentleman. Smoothest of the smooth.

[He carelessly drops the pizza boxes on the nearest table and pulls out the DVDs, then makes his way over to the DVD player.]

[And while he's doing that, she's just going to put the roses in a vase that she found. She then went to grab some plates for them and the grab a piece of pizza for herself.]

So what's first then?

[Yup, don't mind Bro as he makes himself right at home and pops a DVD into the player. Once he's done with that, he'll drop himself on the couch, remote in hand.]

The first movie, of course! You've gotta get back to the basics.

[Totally okay with that. She'll take a seat after grabbing a can of pop.]

True. Very well then.

[Hopefully, she'll be okay with Bro putting his feet up on the table too, because he'll be doing just that once he's got a slice of pizza in hand.]

You'd better brace yourself for the full Muppety experience, babe. Once this train leaves the station, there's no way to jump off.

[Would be nice if he didn't, but whatever. She's just going to grab another slice.]

We will see about that! See and hear, and whatever the hell else comes with watching a movie.

[With that said, he takes a bite from his slice of pizza and presses play.]

[Grinning to that, she started to watch it as it played.]

Is it safe to assume that the Muppets are a favorite of yours?

[Yeahh, this is a 33 year old guy who's saying this with absolutely no shame.]

[A sudden knock at the door, quick and impatient. Dirk can hear the Muppets from a mile away.]

[Athena wasn't expecting anybody else to be coming by. Getting up, she walked over to the door to open it as she took a bite of her pizza.]

Hello, can I help you?

[Who's this chick? Dirk doesn't recognize her, but it doesn't phase him. He gives a curt upnod.]

Sup. I heard Muppets.

[He leans over to see Bro.]

Bro, why didn't you tell me you're having a party? Leaving your own bro out of sweet shit like this is a mean move, aniki.

[Which is funny considering you're at her apartment.]

You heard... Do you have good hearing or something? Come on in.

[Moving out of the way to let him in. Bro? So they were brothers huh?]

I have my way of knowing things.

[Never even misses a beat. Dirk looks back to Athena with a complete deadpan and studies her face from behind his shades. Particularly with Bro not wearing a hat, he looks even more like a mini-me than usual.]

Name's Dirk Strider.

Athena Cykes. It's nice to meet you.

[Dirk puts on a lopsided, cocky smile and holds out a fist to bump. This chick can't be someone Bro's dating, can she? Maybe there are more inter-universe differences between the two of them than previously thought. Not that chicks are gross or anything-- to dismiss an entire gender seems pretty damn sophomoric, in his opinion-- and he never did like to label his sexuality, but Dirk certainly had to wonder what differing circumstances might cause their respective orientations to branch off like that...]

[So she'll just fist bump back. No worries Dirk, they're not dating. This may be a random not!date, but neither of them are seriously thinking that it is a date. More than anything, it's just two people watching movies.]

Come in in.

[Heading back to sit down on the couch again.]

[Dirk follows her inside and seats himself on one arm of the couch.]

No shame at all. Zilch. Nada. Haters gonna hate they ain't ever gonna stop me from doin' my thing.

[Sup mini-me. Bro will just hold out one of the pizza boxes so Dirk can take a slice, but you can bet he's not taking his eyes off the screen.]

Only the first ten minutes. Which are, y'know, kinda vital. You need me to rewind and start this thing over?

[Dirk shrugs and takes a slice of pizza, biting into it with terrible manners as he talks.]

Nah, I know this movie well enough I've got the first ten minutes down pretty damn well. Thanks though.

[Good. Exactly the sort of answer Bro would expect from a Strider. Especially a Strider who's, well... him.]

Eh, you got it bro. [He basically tosses the pizza box back onto the table and sits back again, taking up way more space on the couch than is technically needed.]

[Of course they don't have manners. It's a wonder that Athena isn't saying anything. Instead, she's busy watching the movie while listening to them talk.]

[You're in her bubble right now Bro. Shoving him a little to the side lightly, she made sure she had enough room while allowing him to have room too.]
