Taking up a position near Jonathan's wheeled companion, he closed his eyes and began extending his mind into the surrounding air. Hopefully the creature will shield him in time. Streams of water condensed out of the atmosphere, small globes which rapidly assumed needlelike shapes as he increased their pressure. After a good fifteen seconds or so, the effort of sustaining such a large collection of jets was beginning to exceed comfortable capacity -

Hundreds of needles rained from the sky. Some crashed into the pavement and pooled harmlessly, but the majority pierced through the demons and left holes in their hide. Many dissolved into piles of glitter and water.
