[Perhaps "as good as he had been." And a little better minus his coat, which he misses. He finds its absence detrimental.

But hearing Iori talk is confirmation enough, and answers the most pressing of his questions. He's from their timeline, or close to it. And, well, good riddance. It's about time she's had someone from their side besides him and Koromaru show up. Shinjiro can't be everyone for her, and he's never tried. Not that he's ever begrudged Minato, but sometimes it's nice to see the scales even out a little more, even if Junpei's arrival confirms a few things that were never really a question, just by what he says and how he's reacting. It's just hard to hear because his future back home is something Shinjiro's never experienced for himself. They're memories he's currently glad he doesn't have.

He quiets, steps back a few paces, and nods once.]
Yeah. [But he doesn't bother to say much else. If Junpei remembers her (as he damn well should) then there's little reason for him to spearhead the conversation. Let her have him.]
