▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

 

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

There had been a relative peace last month, apart from the fairy menace. The city was continuing to rebuild itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new opportunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little memento from home.

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefully anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[ This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts.

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independent log if you'd like!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona ONCE PER IC WEEK, but not in the same thread IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES: The creatures have to be in the Bestiary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

July 20th, 13th Hour

[There's a small boy, preteen at best, wandering the streets of Hinoto-Ri.

Perhaps the most interesting thing is that he's holding a gun, or at least a suspiciously similar object - or that he's jittery and likely to point that gunlike object at anything and anyone that passes by, including you.

Is he happy to see you? Probably not.]

Re: July 20th, 13th Hour

[A small rabbit is wandering the streets during the 13th hour. Mesousa is still a bit confused as to why this is happening, no one's really explained it to him, so he's taken to wandering around trying to avoid whatever monsters he does run across. While coming down a cross street, he hears someone else waking the other way, he pokes his large, rabbit head around the corner to see.]

Hello? Is some-someone there?

[Most people who see 'talking rabbit' assume 'demon' and Setsuna does the same. Thankfully he's no more hostile to those than to humans.]

Who are you?

[Mesousa, noticing the gun like object, decides not to screw around.]

M-mesousa!

[devilchild]

[Well, it genuinely seems scared and not about to attack. Setsuna lowers his DeviRiser, though he doesn't put it away.]

Do you know where we are?

[imbodytemp]

[Mesousa calms a bit when Setsuna lowers his gun. Though the bunny is still on edge.]

H-h-hinoto Ri! It's on Shikoku!

What's a Shikoku? I haven't heard of either of those.

Shikoku's an island in southern japan. Though I don't really think that's where this city is...

...oh derp. Let's... pretend that got taken over by a cult in Setsuna's timeline... and renamed...

Do people get brought here a lot?

[Whoa okay, the moment Setsuna points his gunlike thing at Zoe, she immediately points her lance at him. Though she lowers it slightly after a moment.]

... I am not your enemy. Lower your weapon.

[devilchild]

How do I know you're not?

[Setsuna knows nothing about his situation at all.]

Our enemies are demons, and I am not one of them. Plus, you seem new. I could tell you what is going on.

[devilchild]

I'm half-demon. So doesn't that make me an enemy if that's what you're saying?

[papillonmagique]

[Eyebrow raise, but she shurgs.]

Allow me to repharse that. Our enemies are demons who try to rip our faces off, along with other monsters.

[devilchild]

[Hearing that, the boy lowers his gun.]

Where are we?

[papillonmagique]

You are in Hinoto-Ri, a city in Japan, and you have been summoned here to help protect this city.

By who?

Look out!

[Nano and one of these things have suddenly appeared on the scene, the Neoshadow looking aggressive and scary and Nano looking worried. As she comes running up, she holds out her hand as the phantasmal figure of a man dressed in colorful robes and wearing a sinister grin rises behind her. A dark miasma flows forth from Nano's Persona toward the encroaching shadow, and while it doesn't seem to be that greatly affected by the attack, it does at least halt its advance toward Setsuna as it glances over its shoulder at Nano. Now it's surrounded, and pausing to weigh its options.]

You can fight, right? I'll help you!

[devilchild]

Thank you-

[Setsuna fires his gun. Instead of bullets, what comes out is a golden pentagram, from which appears a mighty-looking hound who focuses immediately on the Neoshadow.

With a roar, the King Cerberus releases a blast of flame at the shadowy creature.]

[all_wound_up]

[The Neoshadow lets out an inhuman shriek as the fire washes over it, falling to its knees as its weakness is hit. It's not quite down yet, though.]

It's almost down!

[Nano's new Persona isn't quite as combat ready as the ones she's been using up until now, but she can at least help to keep it disabled while the stranger and his demonic hound finish it off.

Drosselmeyer's eyes glow a brighter red for a moment as the old man's laughter echoes through the night, that same red glow enveloping the shadow. Its screams muted, it can only open its mouth in mute terror as it cowers in front of them, its mind succumbed entirely to the Dunwich Horror.]

Can you finish it?

[devilchild]

Sure thing.

[While the Ceberus pounces at the Neoshadow to claw at it, Setsuna summons his next demon in the same way. Zeus emerges, and if the demon is still kicking, throws his spear at it in a great burst of light.]

[all_wound_up]

[A spear made of light - the monster's other weakness. As the bright light recedes, all that is left is a shadow burned into the ground like the remnants of a nuclear explosion. Nano turns around and bows politely to her Persona, which does likewise to her before disappearing, and then she jogs over to where Setsuna is standing.]

It looks like you probably didn't really need my help after all... I'm glad you're all right.

[devilchild]

Well, it's my first night here, so I just got lucky with weaknesses. [Setsuna dismisses his demons by the same method - pointing his DeviRiser at them and 'firing'.]

You look like more of a regular, though.

[Nano nods, smiling.]

That's right. I've been here since October of last year.

[Wow, has it really been that long already...]

Could you maybe tell me about where we are and why? All I've heard is the name of te city and something about Philemon and and Nyarlathotep.
