Lucas is an extraordinarily precocious kid, but that doesn't mean he never acts like one. He asks the question without a trace of embarrassment, blinking solemnly at the man.
"I used to be, too. I was afraid of a lot of things, actually... But it's not so scary once you're a little more used to it." His best friend shooting flames at every opportunity had cured him pretty quickly.
"What I meant earlier though... Um. You don't mind staying around here and doing what they've asked us to do?"
