A night of feasting and dancing
⊙
Who: Everyone (guests and non-guests alike)
Where: Geartopia
Summary: Party at the Thirsty Mare Tavern for booze and dancing and everyone's invited!
Warnings: Cowboys and Gears and Parties and Booze but mostly Booze
EVENT INFO: Read about it here if you're a new comer!
With the issue still unresolved as the days passed by, the Visitors and the Guests of Geartopia were reaching a peak as more of them appeared from the time rifts. Morale could plummet, but the mayoress would never allow that.
Thankfully, the city itself was hospitable and welcoming to all. The villagers that composed it were a colorful cast, after all. Perhaps drowning your sorrows in booze and a night of dancing would be helpful. Don't worry about the kids... well, there aren't any age limits here after all (...wait...)!
The Thirsty Mare was a large building that could hold the entire town if it needed to do so. Carved out of wood from the nearby forest with the permission of the Ancient Spirits, it rose above Geartopia like a protective beacon. It was a new building as well, no older than ten years, thus new even to the heroes who had come here before. A symbol of the growing economy and peace all around them, it was half town hall, half tavern.
At night? Definitely a tavern.
Cages of fireflies are hung up in the air, as pieces of moss and leaves are strung decoratively against the large heavy trees forming the building's skeleton. Lighting is provided with gas lamps hung around and a gigantic crystal chandelier in the middle.
To the left, a bar seats a few patrons who get tired of dancing, serving drinks for all. Don't worry; it's on the house tonight. At the far off of the hall, a giant table had been prepped with food: entire turkeys, beans (everyone loves beans here, it's quite magical), rye bread, corn, apple pie and sugar pie.
And the alcohol is definitely felt tonight, as the musicians (two wolves and what looks like a bear) settle in and begin playing. Most serious work could be held off until tomorrow, after all.
For now, have some fun! Try not to get drunk too much, the Cactus Juice here is pretty potent...

Hey. Riku, right?
[Even if it's a different Riku, at least it's someone he sort-of knows.]
Mind if I join ya?
no subject
His mouth hangs open for about ten seconds, before he shuts it and offers up a spare fork, face still obviously confused.]
Uh, sure.
[He eats in silence for a moment, taking care to use his left, flesh hand. No need to get crumbs inside tiny metal joints.]
You're not Axel. Who are you?
no subject
The name's Reno. Got it memorized?
[Complete with head tapping. He's trolling a bit, his sense of humor still intact, if a bit dulled from constant horrortower.
Seeing how confused Riku is, he stops and makes an apologetic face, shrugging.]
Sorry, couldn't resist. Axel used to be a buddy of mine. I met a lot of... uh, different versions of you guys from keyblade world. Thought I'd drop by.
...And I kinda forgot that the wingnut factor in the Tower might be too weird here. I can find another place. [Another shrug.]
[The Tower of Animus has an unfortunate side effect of making the downright bizarre into everyday events, up to and including meeting different versions of yourself. Reno's a little unsettled, as he's realizing just how much he's used to weird alternate universe things. Sorry, Riku!]
no subject
No, I get it. I'm used to that kind of stuff, too. Your Tower sounds like the facility I used to be at.
[He slumps in place, pushing his hair over his shoulder to get it out of the way.]
You guys look alike, though. And sound alike. I wonder if you were separated at birth or something.
no subject
[Reno's chewing on his pie thoughtfully, one elbow resting on the table.]
Facility?
[That sounds familiar.]
Oh! Yeah! I remember. Is it the one that was some sort of space station and everyone on it was clones? We got a bunch of people at the Tower from there.
no subject
[Riku nods, licking some filling off his fork.]
Yeah, that's it. That's where I was before here. Uh, not here, but Hinoto-Ri. Anyway, I've spoken with a guy from the Tower before, and we kinda compared notes a little. You guys seem to be better acquainted with your captors than we were.
no subject
[Axel disagreed with that, but at least Reno had gotten him to admit he called that awful hairdo the Hedgehog.]
Hinoto-Ri... Doc Brown, huh?
[Because the Doc is the only person Reno knows that ever actually came back from Hinoto-Ri.]
I wouldn't say we're buddy-buddies. Ruana likes to meddle a lot. [Reno's getting a little more somber as he thinks about the Tower again.] There's some serious crap going on there, a lot of it they're not tellin' us. The Tower's power systems went out last June, so they're sayin' we got only nine months left to live. I sure as hell want to say I'd rather be here... but my family's still there.
no subject
[The location isn't the same, but it sounds... eerily similar. But... nine months to live? He wonders whether people there died of clone sickness, like they did. And... family. His mouth tightens a little -- he cannot begin to explain how much he identifies with what Reno just said.]
... you just said almost exactly how I feel.
no subject
[Well, that sort of surprises Reno. He tilts his head a little and leans forward on the table, ignoring the pie for the moment.]
Didn't expect ya to come out right away saying that. Other you always seems pretty guarded.
no subject
Welp. Didn't need that heart.
Wish I could say something comforting, but these places... [He shrugs, unable to say anything more for a long moment. Reno's at a loss for words knowing there were other places, like the Tower, where people like him were tormented.
Sighing, he shakes his head finally.]
...Not much to say, y'know?
LOL SORRY
No, I know. There's nothing really anybody can say.
[Riku frowns a little then, realizing how heavy the atmosphere has grown. He stretches in his chair, extending mismatched arms in front of him -- this Riku is probably physically much different than the one Reno knows, with his white hair to almost his waist and a metal prosthetic.]
It's just... so weird. The similarities, I mean.
It happens with the KH crowd /badumpsssh
Yeah, the multiverse is probably fucked up with a whole bunch of places like that. Haven't really seen one that's all heaven lovey dovey, yet, but I'm still kinda new to this.
[He lifts a finger and twirls it around at the place.] This is one of the better places. Kinda weird, but food's a lot better here.
kh crowd more like SOB STORY CROWD
[He smiles a little, taking a sip of his drink.]
I'm enjoying myself. It's different here.

Riku?
[Definitely not the Riku she knew best, judging by the visual differences she could already see. Xion for her part, has a collar just like Reno's, though the fluid is violet, not orange. So there were other people here, besides just her and Reno. Was this another place where people from bunches of worlds and universes gathered?]
no subject
Hi, Xion.
no subject
[It's a mark of how much she's gotten used to things in the Tower that it takes her a moment to realize Riku may not have recognized her. That realization is accompanied by its own mixture of nervousness and relief.
She smiles, a little nervously. She's holding a plate of food. She should probably stop herself before she overeats, but it feels like it's the first time in a while that she's had good food that isn't pumpkin or something pulled together so they didn't have to eat pumpkin.]
Mind if I sit here?
no subject
[He's a little nervous, too, but only because he doesn't know this one's opinion of him. He misses having a Xion he could think of as a little sister, to be honest.]
no subject
You have no idea how nice it is to eat something that isn't pumpkin finally.
no subject
[That's weird to hear, but he identifies. At the Facility it was all food bars all the time, for too long. Hinoto-Ri is a wonderland of real food, and Geartopia isn't slacking either.]
no subject
Every month the admin in charge of the place I was before here, the Tower, picks the menu. Every October that I've been there, Ruana always gives us nothing but pumpkin stuff. Pumpkin pies, pumpkin bread, roasted pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin milk... just... pumpkin. And water.
[That last sentence is added on almost as an afterthought]
no subject
[And then it'd get old. But a whole month? That's torturous.]
You've got the honour of being the third person that I know who's come from the Tower.
no subject
Reno?
[That'd be one, if she was right. But who was the other?]
