A night of feasting and dancing
⊙
Who: Everyone (guests and non-guests alike)
Where: Geartopia
Summary: Party at the Thirsty Mare Tavern for booze and dancing and everyone's invited!
Warnings: Cowboys and Gears and Parties and Booze but mostly Booze
EVENT INFO: Read about it here if you're a new comer!
With the issue still unresolved as the days passed by, the Visitors and the Guests of Geartopia were reaching a peak as more of them appeared from the time rifts. Morale could plummet, but the mayoress would never allow that.
Thankfully, the city itself was hospitable and welcoming to all. The villagers that composed it were a colorful cast, after all. Perhaps drowning your sorrows in booze and a night of dancing would be helpful. Don't worry about the kids... well, there aren't any age limits here after all (...wait...)!
The Thirsty Mare was a large building that could hold the entire town if it needed to do so. Carved out of wood from the nearby forest with the permission of the Ancient Spirits, it rose above Geartopia like a protective beacon. It was a new building as well, no older than ten years, thus new even to the heroes who had come here before. A symbol of the growing economy and peace all around them, it was half town hall, half tavern.
At night? Definitely a tavern.
Cages of fireflies are hung up in the air, as pieces of moss and leaves are strung decoratively against the large heavy trees forming the building's skeleton. Lighting is provided with gas lamps hung around and a gigantic crystal chandelier in the middle.
To the left, a bar seats a few patrons who get tired of dancing, serving drinks for all. Don't worry; it's on the house tonight. At the far off of the hall, a giant table had been prepped with food: entire turkeys, beans (everyone loves beans here, it's quite magical), rye bread, corn, apple pie and sugar pie.
And the alcohol is definitely felt tonight, as the musicians (two wolves and what looks like a bear) settle in and begin playing. Most serious work could be held off until tomorrow, after all.
For now, have some fun! Try not to get drunk too much, the Cactus Juice here is pretty potent...

Welp. Didn't need that heart.
Wish I could say something comforting, but these places... [He shrugs, unable to say anything more for a long moment. Reno's at a loss for words knowing there were other places, like the Tower, where people like him were tormented.
Sighing, he shakes his head finally.]
...Not much to say, y'know?
LOL SORRY
No, I know. There's nothing really anybody can say.
[Riku frowns a little then, realizing how heavy the atmosphere has grown. He stretches in his chair, extending mismatched arms in front of him -- this Riku is probably physically much different than the one Reno knows, with his white hair to almost his waist and a metal prosthetic.]
It's just... so weird. The similarities, I mean.
It happens with the KH crowd /badumpsssh
Yeah, the multiverse is probably fucked up with a whole bunch of places like that. Haven't really seen one that's all heaven lovey dovey, yet, but I'm still kinda new to this.
[He lifts a finger and twirls it around at the place.] This is one of the better places. Kinda weird, but food's a lot better here.
kh crowd more like SOB STORY CROWD
[He smiles a little, taking a sip of his drink.]
I'm enjoying myself. It's different here.

[Reno really wants to ask, but doesn't want to bring up bad memories about the metal arm. It's all right, none of his business. He downs his drink in one go.]
I don't have too much hope for me, but if I could, I'd get my kids off on one of those nice worlds.
no subject
You're wondering, aren't you?
... You don't have kids, though, do you?
no subject
[But he pauses, and then sort of chuckles at the next question, shrugging and looking a tiny bit embarrassed.]
No, not really. I mean, I'm takin' care of them, but they're not really mine. Remember I said I used to be buddies with Axel? Kinda made him a promise to watch out for a friend of his, so when he left, I inherited Xion.
no subject
[He raises an eyebrow. Xion is his child?]
Oh, I see. Not the Xion from Hinoto-Ri, though, right? She thinks I'm the devil for some reason.
no subject
[Oh, this is where his experiences in the Tower are popping up again. He's all really embarrassed now, running a hand through his hair and shifting in his seat.]
Nah, Xion in the Tower came right from uh... huh, I don't know what she calls her world, but yeah. I trained a lot of kids, but she hung around a lot. She gets on just fine with Riku over there. He seems real protective of her; even called me out one time after a nasty incident with Ganondorf.
no subject
[He frowns, then -- he doesn't know about the Tower residents' bodies, so he's a little reluctant to admit his status as a clone.]
That's good. I don't know... the Xion here just... she thinks I'm a bad person, for some reason. But I don't remember doing anything to her. I got along fine with her at the Facility.
no subject
[He's had long conversations with his own Xion about the whole 'puppet' thing. Dream dropping with Sora shed a lot of light on the subject, too, though he's not inclined to explain all of that. He sort of promised her.]
Real-real? Lost me there.
no subject
[He frowns a little, setting down his fork.]
I'm not... the real Riku. Not technically. I mean, in my brain I am, but my body is a clone.
no subject
Wouldn't be surprised, that's pretty common in the Tower. Ya get people from all different timelines coming in and causing trouble. It makes things interesting, on the mild side. As I remember it, Riku was the one that talked to her about returning to Sora.
[Reno shrugs, trying to appear casual. He has a lot of pretty strong feelings about letting Xion sacrifice herself.]
If anything, it'd probably be about that. Keyblade world has a whole bunch of wingnut philosophies.
[And a lot of weird people, but he can't say they're the weirdest by far. Not after Aleph and Mara.]
You know, a lot of us are clones. Different universes or genetic clones. It doesn't really matter. You'd still be a big glow spot in one of Jason's constructs.
[And he pulls down his shirt collar, revealing the orange-liquid filled collar that still clamped around his neck.
He's trying to be comforting.]
no subject
[He can't help but grin when Reno pulls down his collar, but his smile has no humor in it. He unzips his vest just enough to bare his own neck -- it's a very simple collar, smooth black metal.]
As I said, eerily similar. Honestly, though, being a clone doesn't bother me as much as it bothered some of the others. I'll live my life as Riku, even if I'm not really.
no subject
[He lets go of the fabric, letting the orange disappear again.]
I'd take being a clone of myself over this... It's similar, but this isn't just a collar. Back in the Tower, it's the only thing that doesn't get covered by the illusions. Underneath 'em, we're just wire frames wrapped up in this high tech film they manufacture. Whenever it glitches, we get to see we're just light balls swimming in the rainbow shit.
[He looks down at himself, bemused.]
I wonder why I'm lookin' normal, the people here don't seem like the type that'd have high tech systems around.

no subject
[It makes sense. Sort of.]
I'm just ready for it to be over.
no subject
[He gives him a long look at that.]
You're waiting to die?
no subject
[But he drops his head, resting it against both sets of knuckles. Tired and worn down, that's what he felt after all this time away from home.]
There's supposed to be another way, but they don't give a fuck about us. We're kinda stuck half-alive until it goes down. I'm not the kind to kid myself about hoping for the best.
no subject
Still, there must be other things. Even if you don't have much time left... I don't think it's fair to yourself. Not that... I'm the best person to give that speech.
no subject
[He lets a rush of air out his nose in a low pitched hum, and lifted his head.]
I was in the middle of doing something about it when I got pulled here.
no subject
[That sounds both interesting and dangerous. Though Riku's no stranger to escape attempts and taking matters into his own hands, either. They did end up breaking into the main bulk of the Facility after a while, leaving the prison-like F1 behind.]

[He is Disney copyright, after all.
After a moment, he tilts his head a little.]
I wonder if the places are linked. I really do.
