In the excitement of summer, it might have slipped some Visitor's minds to go out and patrol the city during the 13th Hour. On the other hand, some were infused with even more energy on those summer nights. It really all depended on the person and perhaps whether their previous encounters were Frosts and Prinnies or something nastier.

Speaking of which... what was out there to be fought tonight?

[Fumi's out in the streets of the Leo District tonight, and this time she's got her Velvet Room Persona out for a bit of practice. Catching sight of Zoe from across the street, she slowly walks over to join her in her own hunt.]

Good evening. How goes the hunt?

[Zoe pulls her lance out from the Monoeye she had just sckewered, and gives Fumi a grin.]

Good evening, and it's going rather well, though I haven't encountered anything too challenging yet. What about you?

Anything truly challenging I run into can typically be easily dispatched if I use my demons, so I haven't had much trouble. Honestly, the only reason I don't use them exclusively is I'm more interested in studying Personas.

[papillonmagique]

And have your studies come up with anything interesting? [She twirls her lance around to rest it against her shoulder, and she takes a quick look around.]

I'm not quite ready to conduct the main part of the experiment just yet. It involves a machine I've been attempting to build since before I came here. It should be ready soon, though.

[papillonmagique]

Oho, I look forward to whatever you experiment discovers, then. [Zoe glances around again, before shifting into a more battle ready position when she spots something moving.]

[Fumi, noticing Zoe's change in posture, adopts a defensive position of her own.]

What is it?

[papillonmagique]

Some sort of... fish thing. [And a Slaughterfish soon swims into view, snapping it's jaws as it moves towards them, prompting Zoe to point the tip of her lance at it.] Hmm, doesn't look too tough, though.

[Fumi, weaponless, sends Krabby out instead.]

The two of us should be enough.

Yes, I think it shall be. [Zoe grins to herself, and she dodges out of the way when the Slaughterfish tries to take a bite out of her and strikes out with her lance, managing to leave a slash along it's side.]

[Fumi, for her part, is using her Persona for this battle. Krabby moves forward to unleash a Mighty Swing attack, hammering down with its claw and striking the Slaughterfish atop the head.]

[The Slaughterfish floats around dazed, before trying to take a bit out of Krabby, though it's knocked off course when Zoe decides to use her Persona to attack it with a Garu.]

[And Krabby finishes it off with a medium-strength water attack as it's disoriented!]

...Easy, just like I thought.

Well, with the two of us, it stood no chance... I haven't actually come across anything too strong since I got here, to be honest.

Then you're either very lucky or very strong yourself.

My ego demands I vote for the 'very strong' option, but it's more likely that luck also factors into this. Though I suppose that luck will run out at some point.

Luck is a kind of strength, if you'd prefer to look at it that way.

Oho, I think I will. I'll have to make sure that I keep honing that strength, then.

[Fumi smiles, nodding.]

You can always rely on yourself, and there will always be room for improvement.

Of course. Granted, relying on others isn't too bad, but you must be able to stand on your own when you need it.

That's exactly my own philosophy. I'm glad so many people here understand.

Well, it is a very sensible philosophy to have! After all, when all else fails, you need to be able to rely on yourself. Things would go very poorly otherwise.

I think the world would be a much better place if more people would realize that as a basic truth of existence.

[And at home, that's exactly what happened.]

Exactly. Luckily a lot of people I know have followed the same idea, and if not, a similar one at least... I'll never be able to understand people who solely rely on others.
