Do you need a hand with your groceries? How about with your relationship problems? Want a couple hundred yen for some food? Is this guy bothering you?

Whatever your problem is, and by you I generally mean the locals, Meetra Surik is on the job. She's spent most of Monday rushing around and accosting people, asking them if they need help with anything, and dutifully committing their minor personal problems to memory. So far she has delivered two love letters for hapless schoolkids (one of which got ignored and the other of which got a her a couple of questions from a school security officer), fished a wedding ring out of the sewer (and then went home to put her robes in the wash), handed out about 2000 yen to beggars, buskers, and random passerby, and spent half an hour lecturing someone about being prejudiced against demons (at least in this case the poor Incubus was grateful, just halfway across the city by the time Meetra or the human local noticed he was gone.)

Right now, she's busily considering a five-liter jug, a three-liter jug, and a water fountain, while passing citizens briefly stop and stare at the crazy Visitor before shaking their heads and moving on. Maybe someone should help her...or tell her to cut it out.

Elzam stops and looks at her. She might find it odd to see a grown man in a full flight suit with goggles on under the helmet or not, its hard to tell with Jedi.

"Are you diffusing a bomb?"

Meetra looks puzzled for a second, as if trying to remember what she was doing. Then she shakes her head. "No, I just needed four liters of water, is all..."

"As much as I enjoy a complicated solution to a simple problem. Why not simply go to the store and get four 1 liter bottles instead of filling each of those half way and then consolidating them?"

[echo_of_a_jedi]

"That doesn't work either, it has to be precise," she said. Never mind why--wait.

"Although I guess since I don't have a time limit I could go get the four liters...," she admitted reluctantly. "Still, I can't help but think I should learn how to do this, just in case."

"Precision is something that requires a third container. That and you'll catch cold in the fountain."

[echo_of_a_jedi]

"No, wait, I think I got it," she claimed, wading into the fountain. "It's all about adding up the negative space..."

Adding up the negative space involves a lot of dumping the entire contents of one jug into the other, but at the end of it Meetra does seem satisfied. Also soaked.

"It just seems like a rather wet way of doing it, especially with the air quality issues."

"Air quality issues?" she asked, immediately putting the jugs down. And wringing out the bottom of her robe a little. "What's the problem?"

"You haven't noticed things being a bit off?"

He sideeyes her and shakes his head.

"Trombe detected something in the air when I was testing the atmospheric system the other day. That's why I'm wearing the suit."

"'Something'? That's not a lot to go off of," she admitted, thinking deeply about it for a moment. "It can't be too hard to find the source, though, the city's a closed environment. I'll check it out immediately."

Check what out? asks a tiny, ignored part of Meetra's brain.

"I have yet to find the source, and I've been looking. It may have all ready vanished after delivering its package to the people here."

He shakes his head, "No, right now I'm more concerned with what will come of it. Several people have been acting oddly."

[echo_of_a_jedi]

"Well, time to go investigate, then. Give me about three or four people who've been acting oddly and I'll go interrogate them," she says, probably not meaning interrogate, exactly.

"You haven't been watching the network? Do you normally use fountains to measure water yourself?"

[echo_of_a_jedi]

"Well, no..." To both of those, honestly. Dumb puzzles like this were more Revan's idea of security. Dumb puzzles and droids to shoot at anyone who answered wrong.

"This is probably important, isn't it?"
