With the issue still unresolved as the days passed by, the Visitors and the Guests of Geartopia were reaching a peak as more of them appeared from the time rifts. Morale could plummet, but the mayoress would never allow that.

Thankfully, the city itself was hospitable and welcoming to all. The villagers that composed it were a colorful cast, after all. Perhaps drowning your sorrows in booze and a night of dancing would be helpful. Don't worry about the kids... well, there aren't any age limits here after all (...wait...)!

The Thirsty Mare was a large building that could hold the entire town if it needed to do so. Carved out of wood from the nearby forest with the permission of the Ancient Spirits, it rose above Geartopia like a protective beacon. It was a new building as well, no older than ten years, thus new even to the heroes who had come here before. A symbol of the growing economy and peace all around them, it was half town hall, half tavern.

At night? Definitely a tavern.

Cages of fireflies are hung up in the air, as pieces of moss and leaves are strung decoratively against the large heavy trees forming the building's skeleton. Lighting is provided with gas lamps hung around and a gigantic crystal chandelier in the middle.

To the left, a bar seats a few patrons who get tired of dancing, serving drinks for all. Don't worry; it's on the house tonight. At the far off of the hall, a giant table had been prepped with food: entire turkeys, beans (everyone loves beans here, it's quite magical), rye bread, corn, apple pie and sugar pie.

And the alcohol is definitely felt tonight, as the musicians (two wolves and what looks like a bear) settle in and begin playing. Most serious work could be held off until tomorrow, after all.

For now, have some fun! Try not to get drunk too much, the Cactus Juice here is pretty potent...

[When Xion sees spiky red hair, she stops and looks.

It's been awhile since she's seen Axel, and the resemblance is, well, rather uncanny. She finds herself calling out and approaching before she can even stop herself.]

Axel!

[midgarhorizon]

[Reno turns, looking for the voice, because he's pretty sure that sounds like Xion.

She doesn't look quite right, though. Different, more like how he remembered her from the beginning.]

Reno.

[He corrects her, but it's with a smile. This can't be his Xion, the one from the Tower. She's off somewhere, stuffing pie...]

Hey, Xion. How's the party going?

[That's good, a neutral question. He can figure out what's going on.]

[poppetstrings]

[When he turns and corrects her, Xion stops midmovemet, withdrawing instinctively into herself. He's clearly not Axel.

But he looks and sounds like Axel. It's a little confusing for her, andd she's quickly tensing up and taking a step back to excuse herself when she hears her name.]

How.. do you know my name?

[midgarhorizon]

Different universes, y'know.

[He hooks his thumbs into the pockets of the slacks he wore, giving a half smile. Yeah, she was definitely not his Xion.]

Don't worry, I'm not gonna bite or anything.

[poppetstrings]

[Different universes or not, Xion still doesn't untense. She still looks very much ready to bolt from anything other than a stiff breeze in her direction. Sure, being around Nano sometimes has helped her want to run away, but it hasn't made it gone away entirely.

So she just gives him an awkward look.]

Oh.

[midgarhorizon]

Trust me, I ain't gonna hurt ya. You can relax.

[Shrug. He knows Xion's moods, and it probably isn't helping ease her mind at all.]

If it helps any, ever heard of the Tower?

[poppetstrings]

... Tower? Like... the Clock Tower?

[midgarhorizon]

[Hmm. Nope. He shrugs again, and offers a small explanation.]

Nah, it's called Tower of Animus. It's a place like this that a lot of people wind up in. 'S where I'm from now. I was friends with Axel for a while. That's how I know ya. Kinda weird, huh?

[poppetstrings]

You were.. friends for awhile? Did you have a fight?

[midgarhorizon]

No, he disappeared. Xion was pretty upset over it.

[The other Xion, he means. This is... pretty weird, yeah.]

It's kinda a thing that happens there. But it's how I got to know ya.

[poppetstrings]

Oh.

[She's not really sure what to say other than that. Just who is that other her anyways?

Well, at least she's had conversations with Nano, so she's not completely conversationally inept. Just really close to it where strangers are concerned.]

... Can you tell me about me?

[midgarhorizon]

[That is sort of a loaded subject, because there's that whole being a replica thing. It's taken a long time to get her comfortable with that back at the Tower, and he sure doesn't want to set her off here. Who knows what support she has?]

Well, in the Tower, you're a cute kid. You are great friends with Riku and Sora. Even had a crush on a boy once... but not sure what happened there.

[He taps his chin thoughtfully for a second.]

You hate pumpkin, have a kitten, and fight really well without that keyblade thing. I think the most important thing to the you in the Tower is the friendships.

[poppetstrings]

I- I crushed a boy!?

[this is literally the most concerning thing here. She doesn't know a Riku or a Sora, and pumpkin she's fine with. Kittens are something else and she doesn't really do the friendship thing, so.

Yeah. This is what she rolls with.]

[midgarhorizon]

[Okay, he can't help himself here if he laughs, but maybe he should have worded that differently.]

No, kiddo, you liked him. Y'know, it's an expression. Dates, dinners, holding hands. Stuff like that.

[poppetstrings]

[She narrows her eyes for a moment at him when he laughs.

But when he talks, she reels back a little.]

I- I can't! I can't like someone like that! I don't have a heart!

[and yet she sure did wonder if maybe she was in love with Kairi when she was here.

God bless daytime television. The one thing thats horrible for someone like her.]

[midgarhorizon]

[Oh. Reno's face goes serious then, the amusement gone. This is exactly like another conversation he had with her- the other her- way back when.]

Of course ya do... we figured that out a long time ago. Y'have a heart, and a soul. You got a lot more heart than other people. You just need to figure it out.

[poppetstrings]

No I don't! You're wrong. If I had a heart, I wouldn't be a Nobody, but I'm a Nobody, so I don't have a heart. Simple as that.

[midgarhorizon]

You're not a Nobody. They lied to ya, or just didn't know. I don't get all of it myself...

[This is going in a disturbing direction, and he took a step back so she wouldn't get frightened or more upset.]

Xion, you got a family at the Tower. I got no doubt that you have a heart. You have this habit of givin' people shells when you care about 'em.

Then that's not me. It's just someone who happens to look like me. I've only given shells to one person, and person is Roxas.

I'm a Nobody. There's nothing else to it.

[There's a little edge of defense to her voice. His words bring back what happened in Beast's Castle, and it gets her a little more on edge.]

[Sighing, Reno opens his collar a little, revealing the orange filled Tower collar underneath, and pulled on something else that's around his neck.

It's a green ribbon tied together, both ends wrapped around a shell. It's one of the ones Roxas gave Xion, but it's unmistakably from the same place. The green ribbon's significant too, though what it means is probably lost to her.]

Y'gave one to me when I was hurting.

[poppetstrings]

I didn't give you anything.

[And while there's that recognition of where the shell comes from on her face, everything else is lost to her because of events that just haven't happened in her life yet.]

[attheclocktower]

[And guess who has the worst timing in the world. She's managed to eat maybe a bit too much - is full to almost-bursting, or at least it feels like it. But before she decided what to do next, she needed to find Reno and discuss what to do next with him. Thankfully his hair doesn't make spotting him too hard. She finds him easily, pushing her way over.]

Hey, Reno? I-

[Oh.

That sure is a little her right there.]

[midgarhorizon]

[Tucking the shell back in his shirt, he shrugs.] Maybe. I-

[He's interrupted by the other Xion, and suddenly things are awkward.]

Uhhh...

[Yeah, he has no idea how to handle this.]

[poppetstrings]

[Xion hadn't really been upset until now. Confused, maybe. But not upset. But then someone else came along. Someone who sounds exactly like her (though looks decidedly different, she decides) intruding into the conversation.

Needless to say, Xion freezes at first, going ridged and tense. And of course, now instead of being confused, she's upset, antsy, and a little irritated to boot. Because now there's someone who looks and sounds like her, and they know Reno too, which means this is the imposter that he had been talking about.

It's also suddenly two on one, and instinctively, she reacts in a defensive manner, summoning a certain keyblade to her side without a word, eyes darting back and forth nervously between the two.]

[This had gone from awkward to bad so quickly Xion wasn't even sure what to do. She reacts instinctively in her own way though, taking a step backwards. She fights to keep herself out of any kind of defensive stance though. She doesn't want to fight.

Slowly she raises her hands a little, palm out to show that they're empty.

She doesn't know what to say. She glances over at Reno, worried and slightly pleading. This... was... not good. At all.]
