A night of feasting and dancing
⊙
Who: Everyone (guests and non-guests alike)
Where: Geartopia
Summary: Party at the Thirsty Mare Tavern for booze and dancing and everyone's invited!
Warnings: Cowboys and Gears and Parties and Booze but mostly Booze
EVENT INFO: Read about it here if you're a new comer!
With the issue still unresolved as the days passed by, the Visitors and the Guests of Geartopia were reaching a peak as more of them appeared from the time rifts. Morale could plummet, but the mayoress would never allow that.
Thankfully, the city itself was hospitable and welcoming to all. The villagers that composed it were a colorful cast, after all. Perhaps drowning your sorrows in booze and a night of dancing would be helpful. Don't worry about the kids... well, there aren't any age limits here after all (...wait...)!
The Thirsty Mare was a large building that could hold the entire town if it needed to do so. Carved out of wood from the nearby forest with the permission of the Ancient Spirits, it rose above Geartopia like a protective beacon. It was a new building as well, no older than ten years, thus new even to the heroes who had come here before. A symbol of the growing economy and peace all around them, it was half town hall, half tavern.
At night? Definitely a tavern.
Cages of fireflies are hung up in the air, as pieces of moss and leaves are strung decoratively against the large heavy trees forming the building's skeleton. Lighting is provided with gas lamps hung around and a gigantic crystal chandelier in the middle.
To the left, a bar seats a few patrons who get tired of dancing, serving drinks for all. Don't worry; it's on the house tonight. At the far off of the hall, a giant table had been prepped with food: entire turkeys, beans (everyone loves beans here, it's quite magical), rye bread, corn, apple pie and sugar pie.
And the alcohol is definitely felt tonight, as the musicians (two wolves and what looks like a bear) settle in and begin playing. Most serious work could be held off until tomorrow, after all.
For now, have some fun! Try not to get drunk too much, the Cactus Juice here is pretty potent...

wow I read that as "brows his KILT with concern" and laughed for a solid minute
At first she was going to pathetically attempt a joke at the fact she was talking so that obviously meant she was breathing, but found herself too shy to do so. Miki tried to calm herself down from seeing him again, but her heart was now beating a mile a minute. She could feel that hand gripping on her shoulder and wanted to just put her own hand over his and not let go...but she'd probably freak him out. How was she going to break this gently to him? It seemed each time she saw him, it was back to square one. Good think Jiji wasn't seeing this...
"Thank you..." she finally blurted out instead, unable to make eye contact for a few more minutes.
............*facepalms* Pixle why
The lighting was still too dim for him to get a very careful and close look at the girl, but she seemed friendly enough. Maybe he could get some answers from her, after she recovered from the choking and coughing.
Akihiko eyed the empty glass, ready to go refill it for her, if needed. In the meantime, he gave her shoulder one more comforting squeeze, and then pulled his arm back. "Hey, uh... Can you tell me where this is? If you feel up to it."
Because I hope Jamie's showed Aki how to wear one.
"It's...Geartopia. I'm not from here either." Where had this version of her brother come from, she wondered. Maybe a world where he was a superhero like she always imagined him...but he wasn't flying off somewhere. And why was she thinking about that a time like this?!
Focus Miki. Focus. She breathed in and out slowly, concentrating on her explanation. As sore as her throat was, at least now she could speak normally.
"What I mean to say is, this place has a machine that's malfunctioning and bringing people from all sorts of universes...we're...the group I'm with. We're here to help them since we didn't arrive by that way."
Akihiko is not wearing a fucking kilt gtfo
"Geartopia..." he tested the foreign word out with his tongue, and then made a "tsk" noise under his breath. Akihiko knew he wasn't in Asgard anymore, but... damn. Was this one of the cities outside, like Vanaheim? But this girl didn't have a bracelet on, so it meant she wasn't a Traveler. He frowned, trying to figure out how to get in touch with Shinji and the others, unless he had to wait for the gods to bring him back somehow.
"I see," he replied quietly, glancing off to the side to hide the tension lingering over his face. "So, how do we get back? Can we fix the machine?"
There might have been some urgency in his tone, because he didn't think he had time to be dicking around, when his friends and fellow comrades were all still back in Asgard.
no subject
"That's the plan. Problem is, no one's sure what's causing it. There are rumors....but....I don't like the idea of rumors in the first place."
Miki had seen their effects first-hand in the city. Another place, even one as far as this, didn't deserve that same treatment. Again, she looked over at Akihiko and curiosity got the better of her at the end. Before she put too much thought into it, she quietly asked;
"Where are you from, if that's okay to ask? What's your world like?" He really sounded like he had to go, and that just made her all the more afraid wherever that place was, it wasn't good...
no subject
He didn't mind that question, and answered without hesitation, "I'm from Japan, originally. But then... I was taken somewhere else." He shook his head just then; it wasn't an easy story for people to believe, unless they experienced it firsthand. "As for what it's like, well... I was living in Iwatodai, till I graduated from high school this past spring. It was pretty nice. A suburban area, not too big."
Akihiko turned back to face her at this point. "What about you?"
no subject
"W-well uh..." she was holding on to the glass so tightly now, the fear it would break in her hands looked rather real. Releasing her grip, she attempted to (pathetically) look at him. Her entire body felt numb, detached, shaking, and speaking from somewhere else.
"I-I'm from Japan too. I was also taken somewhere else; Hinoto-Ri. Philemon brought us there. He...uh..." he gives out Personas "...y-yeah."
Again she stopped speaking. Frozen in place. Man...this was just beyond pathetic and Miki was mentally hitting herself on the head.
"ARGH!"
Something holding back pushed her on forward. Finally having enough, she put the glass on the floor in a moment of silence after that grunt of frustration, then blurted out everything afterwards. "I didn't live just in Japan, I was in Iwatodai too, but I-I haven't graduated from high school...I...I know about Personas!!!"
Well that wasn't exactly what she had wanted to say, but, well, she had tried.
