Another year, another Masquerade and celebration! On this most powerful of spiritual days, even the demons take a day off and enjoy a frightfully good time with the human folk. ...Well. Most of them do. But now that the Visitors have become a familiar sight, a few have decided to have their fun. Lucky you!



The lights are colored blue and purple, and the streets are filled with party-goers of all ages, in both fantastic and not-so-fantastic costumes. Pumpkins appear to be floating in mid-air, but closer inspection will reveal that they are, in fact, Pyro Jacks attending the festivities. This is their favorite holiday, and they wouldn't want to let it go to waste!

In comparison to the previous year, Scorpio District is in tip-top condition, and the Masquerade is being celebrated in Scorpio's Art Center. It's a big change in atmosphere, with tents and buildings lined up on both sides of the street, candles floating in the air (this time actual floating candles), and throngs of costumed people everywhere. In an attempt to merge the cultures, Halloween this yeah has taken on a more commercial tone. Homemade costumes are available from the local artists, and face painting is offered to many of the giggling children - non-magical this time! The tents are distributing free candy at the door, with an invitation to step inside and browse what else they have to offer: Halloween-themed treats and candies, of course, as well as decorations, party supplies, art pieces, and costume modifications.

In the middle of Scorpio District, an extra-large tent boasts party games and live music for the revelers. In separate corners, there are jack o' lantern carving competitions, costume contests, a triumphant return of bobbing for apples, and musicians producing spooky Halloween music (with a theremin!). Join in the fun!

If you find yourself without any money, no worries! Just strap a white cloth over your head and pretend to be a ghost! Or you can even pretend to be another Visitor! How original! Costume shopping should be no problem, and there are still stores nearby selling their wears for last minute purchases. There's also a vast quantity of masks, both traditionally Japanese ones and those of cartoon mascots.

...And a few June Prince ones, of course.

In this small secure sector, it's sure to be an extra fantastic celebration of dancing, music and just watching both humans and demons going at it without a care in the world. Candy is floating around thanks to the Pyro Jacks - grab something and try not to ruin your teeth. Hey, who is that guy who just passed by? Hard to tell.

After all... with this combination of Halloween costumes, masquerade ballgowns, and masks, who knows who really is human and who isn't?

[Decked out in light blues and off-whites with a pair of large angel's wings on his back, Johnny can be found alternating between hanging all over Otoha and milling about, watching people dance, party and generally have a good time.

If someone's unfortunate enough to look wallflower-esk while near all the dancing, they just might find themselves swept off to dance by the tall, dark and handsome vampire.]

[At least Otoha convinced Johnny to let him keep dark clothes, and even his 'angel' wings are dark. Otoha isn't so thrilled about the dancing idea, but he allows himself to be hauled around by the vampire.]

[Johnny is all smiles and even has the eagerness of a kid as he leads Otoha around in whatever dances he feels like doing.]

Hmmm~ And you're like an old man who can't loosen up. Come ooon, have fun, It's Halloween!

[He pulled Otoha close so he could whisper up at him with a smirk.]

And you look very sexy as a fallen angel.

No? It's one of my favorites. All of the costumes people make up can be fascinating. Aaah, and all of the little vampires wandering around are so adorable~ Plus, there's candy!

[Oh. Congrats, you get a small blush for your efforts, that's an achievement.

But then he's covering it up with a playful smirk.]

Oooh, you sure know how to sweep a vampire off his feet, Otoha. You're such a charmer~

Buuuut, the point isn't always to be 'creepy' it's to be something you're not for one night. As far as I'm aware, you're not a fallen angel, are you?

[... He needs to work on his deadpan delivery. He leans into the touch a bit, a faint smile appearing.]

[Johnny humms and slips his arms up and around Otoha's neck. Whoops, they were supposed to be dancing, right? Not anymore.]

Maybe next year I'll turn you into a pumpkin, then. You're most definitely not one of those.

Although...

[Whoops, those would be his lips pressing against Otoha's jaw and then his neck and then his collar. Low-cut shirts are a blessing.]

Then I would have to get creative on how to expose your skin like this.

[Oh, Sam is 100% wallflower material. So much so that he's brought a freakin' book to read at the party. So when Johnny grabs him, he's quite shocked, having been knocked out of his reading reverie.]

H-hey! Let me go! I don't want to dance with you...!

[Bringing a book to a party is a definite 'no' and Sam's just treated with a totally innocent smile.]

Aaaaw, but Sam! It's a party, you should be having fun~

Besides, if you didn't want to have fun, why did you show up? Did Desco drag you here? Or, maybe, you do want to have fun but you on't know how to look for some yourself.

[Yeah, he's going to go with that second one, which is why he's going to spin you now.]

[He's awkward off and on the dance floor- he's not used to it, so don't mind if he makes some weird missteps while he spins around with Johnny. He'll be trying to pull away when he feels like he can, but Johnny's grip is probably tight enough to keep him from doing so.]

I-I showed up because I wanted to see if there was anything going on. [He glances away, looking slightly embarrassed.] And Desco didn't drag me along, no. I came of my own accord...

[He's not about to let Sam escape that easily, though he'll take pity on him shortly. For now, he's having too much fun watching his awkward movements.]

Aaaaah, I see. Well, I'm sure she'll be happy you came anyway. So, your assessment is that this party isn't worth your time, hmm? I wonder, what would you do differently to make it more entertaining?

[He frowns at that question.]

I-I don't know. Less people, maybe. Maybe I shouldn't have come...what good do these things do for me?

Perhaps not...but a little socialization is good for the soul.

[His hands still tightly on Sam's, he drags the poor boy over and away from the main group of people.]

Staying away from the crowd while still being near it is effective enough on that front, in most cases.

"Uncle Johnny! Uncle Johnny! How does Desco look?!"

Desco is still decked out in the orange-and-black witch outfit she put on at home and proceeded to show off to everyone, so she is clearly just fishing for more compliments.

Ooo, he's got a really accurate angel costume! Has he ever met any angels? I hope not, because he and Uncle Otoha really belong together, and it'd be a shame if the magnetic attraction between vampires and angels made him leave! I'd have to level Celestia in revenge, and then Big Sis wouldn't be able to rule it...maybe it's best if he never meets any angels, just to keep my family from breaking up. Okay! For the sake of a happy family life, any angel that goes near Uncle Johnny will have their legs broken and get thrown back into Celestia!

Johnny's all smiles for Desco and her perfectly adorable outfit. "You look fabulous, Desco! A delightfully adorable witch with the power to strike fear and awe in all who look upon her~"

And then he notices that text box...the number is less concerning than the words and the words. "Ah....Desco...what's with the box?" That wasn't her thought process, right? It sounded like her thought process....

He was suddenly very glad poor Azi was no longer in the city.

"Hmhmhmhm! Desco is the fearsomest!"

Aaaa, Uncle Johnny is so good at compliments! It's definitely not a vampire thing, so it must just be something he's good at. He's kind of frail for a vampire...maybe he's not getting enough blood? I'd offer mine, but it has to be human blood, right? I don't think I have enough to do him much good...maybe I can arrange for my peons in the corrupternment to deliver some criminals they don't need to the house? He shouldn't waste effort on actually getting the blood out, though, so maybe I should buy him a goblet or something? Oh! There was the pretty blue one shaped like a dolphin I saw the other day! If it was filled with blood it'd even be the same color as my chitin! And maybe I'll sneak some of my blood in there anyway. The blood of a Final Boss has to make vampires stronger, right?

...seems like Desco ignored everything other than the compliment, which is...pretty standard for her, really.

"Ah...Desco..." If she wasn't aware of the box over her head, she wouldn't understand why he was suddenly uncomfortable with the idea of having 'meals' delivered to their front door. Or why he felt the need to point out he was happy enough drinking Otoha's blood once a month like he was.

So distraction techniques were a go.

"Such a fearsome witch probably has a few spells and tricks up her sleeves, yes? What have you got planned to cause such Halloween mischief. Your plots are always very fascinating and well executed~"

Distraction and maybe a bit of flattery.

"Hmhmhmhm! Desco is gonna dye Hinoto-Ri in her colors tonight!"

It's too bad all my little sisters only show up during the 13th Hour. It'd be nice to have my army with me all the time. On the other tentacle, that might be too much adorable in one place...even if they are my little sisters, I can't just expose my city to them without some kind of protection or they'd just explode from all the cuteness. I bet no other Final Boss has to worry about their peons exploding from too much cuteness. Proof that I'm the greatest of all Final Bosses!

He kneels down to her height and adjusts her hat a bit before reaching for one of her hands so he can kiss her claws as a knight might kiss the hand of his princess.
