Child Event and Blackout Log
Who: Anyone
Where: Around the city and in the apartments
When: November 15-18
Summary: Little kids everywhere! Also the power grid is on the fritz.
Warnings: Hopefully none!
With the network and the city's electricity once again malfunctioning, the power to most of the city has either been knocked out or is malfunctioning. And since inconvenient things rarely happen in a vacuum in Hinoto-Ri, a portion of the city has also been affected by some strange new curse, reverting to childlike forms. Business in and around the city has ground to a standstill due to the power problems, and without functioning heat in the apartments, extra blankets and huddling together for warmth are the order of the day. It's still possible to go outside as the government hasn't imposed any additional curfews, and the demons during the 13th Hour are as active as ever, but some people may just want to ride this out until everything is back to normal.
((OOC: Feel free to make your own top-level comments either mingling in your apartments or out and about in town. The child event effects are in full swing, and taking place concurrent with the blackout from November 15th through the 18th. Please label your posts with your character's name and location. We apologize for the slight lateness of this log!))

City
So, being a responsible adult in everything but appearance,he goes out to look for her, striking a very intimidating figure at a towering four foot three in baggy clothes and shoes, since nothing fits him decent anymore, and belts and rolling up pant leg hems will only do so much. The jacket she bought him last year is helping stave off the cold, but isn't helping much with his look either.
He doesn't even know where to begin to look, but he stays inside the city until he spots a shock of red hair that fits the girl he ran into this morning.
He has a feeling—a gut instinct really—that she might run if he tries to stop her now. So he tries to approach as... stealthily as possible before getting close enough to try to grab her arm.
"Hey!"
...His voice also doesn't sound quite right either. Shit.
no subject
When she feels someone grab her arm, though, she does what any respectable six-year-old girl accosted by a stranger would do... shriek, and turn to bop her attacker in the nose.
no subject
Thankfully for her, his face is completely within arm's reach, and he feels the hit connect with a harsh, sudden flash of pain. He stumbles back a bit but keeps his hold on her arm as he tries to maintain balance. The most appropriate thing to do at this point would be to... cry, probably. But he's felt worse and has a bit more emotional maturity to him his Sanada counterpart is lacking for, at the moment. And if the gods blessed him with anything, it's a high pain tolerance. Though he's not enjoying the looks he's getting.
Still, it hurts enough the fading pain is making his eyes sting.
It takes a moment for his head to clear, but he tries to keep his position steady, like he wants to suddenly grow roots into the sidewalk.
"I thought I said not to leave!"
no subject
She puts her tiny arms on her hips and stares him down.
"I don't have to listen to you. I don't know you."
no subject
"Do you even know where you are?"
no subject
This is incredibly logical okay.
no subject
He doesn't even like arguing with the older one.
"And? What are you supposed to do when you're lost?"
no subject
Which you are not, weird kid.
no subject
He was hoping for some variant of "stay in one place," but he can work with this.
"You think your brother knows how to do that?"
no subject
no subject
"Then wouldn't it be better to wait for him somewhere?"
no subject
He'd better come up with some good excuse.
no subject
"You're not lost."
no subject
no subject
...childish as the excuse may be.

"Then how do I find them?"
no subject
Though he suddenly feels like he's overheard dozens of conversations similar to this one. Maybe because some of his memories are suddenly more vivid than he can remember them being for a long time.
"Probably better to let them find you."
no subject
"I can't just give up. ...I want to go home."
no subject
"I'm not sayin' you have to give up. ...Would it make you feel better if you looked?"
no subject
He'd better think up some way to keep them both from getting scooped up by the police at this rate.
no subject
But his eyes soften somewhat as he shoves his hands into his pockets. He'd love to just go home and cocoon himself in a few layers of blankets. "...Then I'll help you look. But if we can't find anything, it'd be better to go back to the dorm. Then you can wait for them to pick you up there, alright?"
