Child Event and Blackout Log

Where: Around the city and in the apartments
When: November 15-18
Summary: Little kids everywhere!  Also the power grid is on the fritz.
Warnings: Hopefully none!

With the network and the city's electricity once again malfunctioning, the power to most of the city has either been knocked out or is malfunctioning.  And since inconvenient things rarely happen in a vacuum in Hinoto-Ri, a portion of the city has also been affected by some strange new curse, reverting to childlike forms.  Business in and around the city has ground to a standstill due to the power problems, and without functioning heat in the apartments, extra blankets and huddling together for warmth are the order of the day.  It's still possible to go outside as the government hasn't imposed any additional curfews, and the demons during the 13th Hour are as active as ever, but some people may just want to ride this out until everything is back to normal.

((OOC: Feel free to make your own top-level comments either mingling in your apartments or out and about in town.  The child event effects are in full swing, and taking place concurrent with the blackout from November 15th through the 18th.  Please label your posts with your character's name and location.  We apologize for the slight lateness of this log!))

Miyako paused and look at the other girl. She can tell the girl wasn't a demon, but it didn't mean it's safe to talk to her.

"No, I did not." Which was the truth. "...Why would it concerns you?"

"You looked lost... I'm sorry, did I make a mistake?"

Now she just looks sheepish. She shouldn't have jumped to conclusions.

"...I am in an unfamiliar location. But I did not lose my parents."

Because they're already dead.

"Don't make assumptions without knowing the facts."

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize it." And she truly does sound apathetic.

"But... if you aren't looking for your parents, does that mean you're just lost?"

"...Yes."

Grumbles, grumbles. This is the worst. Where are her brother or attendants? Even Alcor would be good to see.

"This isn't where I was supposed to be, so I am 'lost'."

"Then... maybe we should go to the police together? I know where my house is, but I haven't been able to find my parents at all." So obviously the next step from there would be to ask the nice policemen.

Miyako frowned, but acknowledged it's a good choice of action. However...

"How can I know you'll take me to the police?"

She blinks at Miyako with confusion.

"Well... You're lost, and I lost my parents, so we both need to go there, right?"

Logic.

"Is that how it goes?"

That's not how it goes for her. But that's implying she ever got lost bad enough to ask for help.

"Uh-huh. You tell the police and then they help your parents find you."

She tilts her head slightly to the side.

"You didn't know?"

"I don't normally call for the police."

Just the servants, really. Miyako sounds honest.

"I usually don't either, but... They always tell you that's what you're supposed to do. The adults never told you that?"

Shake her head. "No. I rarely leave without an escort."

[eyewillprotect]

"You don't?"

Even though Aoi comes from an extremely rich and old family herself, she still managed to go out by herself sometimes.

"Why not? Is it dangerous?"

[bittybackup]

She was just quiet. "...Because there's no reason for me to go out."

"...Not even to play?"

[bittybackup]

"Why do I need to play?"

"Well... You don't need to, but...

It's fun, isn't it?"
