Child Event and Blackout Log

Where: Around the city and in the apartments
When: November 15-18
Summary: Little kids everywhere!  Also the power grid is on the fritz.
Warnings: Hopefully none!

With the network and the city's electricity once again malfunctioning, the power to most of the city has either been knocked out or is malfunctioning.  And since inconvenient things rarely happen in a vacuum in Hinoto-Ri, a portion of the city has also been affected by some strange new curse, reverting to childlike forms.  Business in and around the city has ground to a standstill due to the power problems, and without functioning heat in the apartments, extra blankets and huddling together for warmth are the order of the day.  It's still possible to go outside as the government hasn't imposed any additional curfews, and the demons during the 13th Hour are as active as ever, but some people may just want to ride this out until everything is back to normal.

((OOC: Feel free to make your own top-level comments either mingling in your apartments or out and about in town.  The child event effects are in full swing, and taking place concurrent with the blackout from November 15th through the 18th.  Please label your posts with your character's name and location.  We apologize for the slight lateness of this log!))

Miyako blinked and looked down at the ball, before looking up at where it came from. There's a boy over there.

"...Why?"

...Uh.

"'Cause I was playing with it! Do you wanna play, too?"

Blank stare, before she blink.

"No. Playing would be pointless."

[bondsofsuffering]

"Pointless?" Silly Miyako, Hizumi doesn't even know the meaning of that word. "But it's fun! And with two people, we can play soccer!"

"I don't want to waste my time! And with something I don't know about." Just what is soccer?

[bondsofsuffering]

...Wait, what.

"You don't know what soccer is?" The way he says it, this might well be the end of the world.

"No, I don't. It's a civilian activity, isn't it?"

Hello, sheltered lifestyle.

"Civi--"

He's a smart kid, but he can't help it if there are words he hasn't learned yet.

"If you don't know what it is, how 'bout I show you?"

Meanwhile, she have the best education the clan can afford. Albeit at the cost of of a normal life.

"Show me?" She raise a brow. "...You don't need to."

"Why not? It's fun!"

He jogs over, reaching out to grab her hand. "It's really easy, too! C'mon, let's play!"

She wasn't expecting it, so Hizumi successfully grabbed her hand.

"Wha--no!"

And now he will attempt to drag her along onto the field, kicking the ball along with as they go.

"So, the first part of soccer is you can't use your hands. So that's why you have to kick it instead, see?"

She tried to pull her hand away.

"And why is that?"

[bondsofsuffering]

"Because it's the rules." And nope, he's hanging on tightly. "You have two teams, and each side has a goal. You try to kick the ball into the other side's goal, and they try to stop you so they can get the ball and kick it in your side instead. Whoever gets the most points win!"

He finally stops walking once they make it into the middle of the field, letting go of her hand to cross his arms proudly.

"Since there's two of us, we can both be on different teams. I'll even go easy on ya!"

That's a rather silly rule, but then again, there were a lot of silly rules back at the manor.

She pulls her hand back once he let go, giving him a look.

"I never said I'll play with you."

And what do you mean "go easy"?

"Huh? But now you gotta! We can't play without at least two people."

He looks like a kicked puppy.

"You aren't scared to lose, are you?"

Or maybe not so kicked after all.
