Where: Around the city and in the apartments

Summary: Little kids everywhere! Also the power grid is on the fritz.
Warnings: Hopefully none!

With the network and the city's electricity once again malfunctioning, the power to most of the city has either been knocked out or is malfunctioning. And since inconvenient things rarely happen in a vacuum in Hinoto-Ri, a portion of the city has also been affected by some strange new curse, reverting to childlike forms. Business in and around the city has ground to a standstill due to the power problems, and without functioning heat in the apartments, extra blankets and huddling together for warmth are the order of the day. It's still possible to go outside as the government hasn't imposed any additional curfews, and the demons during the 13th Hour are as active as ever, but some people may just want to ride this out until everything is back to normal.

Admiration directed towards him in any form was his weakness. He gives a smirk, scratching the tip of his nose in slight bashfulness. How the girl put it made him feel like he really was a hero, the main character of a game...

"You can put it that way."

"That's amazing! You're like a hero out of a story!"

Aoi, no. Don't make his head any bigger than it already is.

A hero... While he was thinking about the exact same thing, actually hearing it out loud made his heart flutter with glee. He isn't as immature as how he started off in the Afterlife, so he doesn't get this happy feeling up to his head and just responses with a grin.

"A hero. I like the sound of that! Yes, I am a hero, I can become a main character!"

...Or not. It's all up in his head now.

...? "Become a main character?"

She hadn't really meant it literally.

"Indeed." Noda gives a content smile in response. "The hero is the main character in a story, is it not?"

She nods, but it's become uncertain. "Can you do that?" Like, in real life?

"Perhaps not if this world were less strange." Noda replies, "but we have been called into this world for a reason, so I do not see why not."

At least Noda remembers about the Philemon thing! Just a tiny bit!

Um...

"What do you mean by 'this world'?" Because the way he said it, it was like it was... different, somehow.

"Those who have strange powers are not from his world." Noda replies. "I believe they are called Visitors. Each one has this ID card to carry."

He shows his own card to Aoi, finding it mildly strange she's not aware of it. Any citizens originally in this city should know of this...

She looks at the card closely before shaking her head. "I don't understand. So... there are people here who aren't from earth?"

It seems it hasn't even entirely dawned on her that it's another world entirely. Because even with all of the strangeness so far, that's just impossible, isn't it?

He gives a small, confused frown in response. Doing explanations wasn't something he was good at ever, so he was struggling with how he should word it.

"I believe there are those from stranger worlds."

There was that strange place a number of the visitors stuck in where he ran into that Hizumi-lookalike...

"But you're from earth, right?"

Or has she been talking to an alien all this time? Because for an alien, he looks pretty darn human.

"Indeed, I am." Why wouldn't he? He gives a confused look. "I am a normal human being, but there are others out there who possibly aren't."

Demons sure weren't.

"R-really-?!"

She has yet to run into one, and probably for the better. She'd just start screaming again.

"That is what I have heard, though I do not care much for such details." At least, as long as they don't get in his way.

Sorry Aoi, he's not doing a good job making you feel better.

"So... you don't know what they really are?"

Indeed he is not. She just looks even more afraid now. Good job Noda!

"No." Noda simply replies. And then the most reasonable question finally dawns to him.

"Where are your parents?"

"I don't know... I can't find them anywhere." And she's certainly been trying. But no matter how much she looked, she just couldn't seem to locate them in this strange city.

He gives a small sigh as he scratches his head. What kind of parent leaves their kid alone, wandering around in the streets?

"...If you want, I will assist in finding your parents, as well as keeping dangerous people away."

No, he doesn't realize he's included in the 'dangerous people' list with how violent he can get.

"Really? You would help me out like that?"

She does brighten at the thought, even if it's just a little. "I was looking for the police... Mother always told me to go to them if there was trouble, but I can't find the station."

If Noda knew better, he'd find where the police station is located, which would be in the Leo district. But it's Noda we're talking about.

"The police station..." He frowns as he puts a hand to his chin, in thought. "I am not aware of its location in this city."

"Someone told me if I looked at the map I could find it, but I haven't been able to figure it out."

She looks to the watch on her wrist, frowning as she pulls up the map again. It's... about the only thing she's figured out how to do, it looks like.

"I just don't understand it..."

Noda gets his own map out, drawing his brows together take a good look at it.

"........."

He wasn't sure how to read the map, either.

"...Um,"

Is it possible...

"You can't read it either?"

That would be correct, Aoi.

Noda, on the other hand, jerks at the words before abruptly yelling,

"NO!! I AM ABLE TO READ IT JUST FINE! IT IS THIS WAY!!" and start stomping towards the opposite direction in which the police station is located.
