Where: Around the city and in the apartments
When: November 15-18
Summary: Little kids everywhere! Also the power grid is on the fritz.
Warnings: Hopefully none!

With the network and the city's electricity once again malfunctioning, the power to most of the city has either been knocked out or is malfunctioning. And since inconvenient things rarely happen in a vacuum in Hinoto-Ri, a portion of the city has also been affected by some strange new curse, reverting to childlike forms. Business in and around the city has ground to a standstill due to the power problems, and without functioning heat in the apartments, extra blankets and huddling together for warmth are the order of the day. It's still possible to go outside as the government hasn't imposed any additional curfews, and the demons during the 13th Hour are as active as ever, but some people may just want to ride this out until everything is back to normal.

The child event effects are in full swing, and taking place concurrent with the blackout from November 15th through the 18th. Please label your posts with your character's name and location. "So... Your dad's dead, too?"

"Yeah. An Ogretail got inta the ghetto, and Dad let himself get eaten so we could escape."

"So you hafta live by yourself?" That sounds... awful. As a kid who loves and relies heavily on his parents, he can't even imagine it.

"Course. Not like anyone's gonna take in a street kid outta th' goodness of their heart or nothin'."

"Aren't there supposed to be places for people like that though? You're an orphan, so you're s'posed to be at an orphanage, right?" That's what always happened in movies, after all.

"What's an orphanage?"

"It where orphans have to go 'cause they don't have parents."

"Never heard of somethin' like that."

"But there's always an orphanage in all the TV shows and movies and things!"

"Really? TV usually just has, like...news about God Eaters an' that weird Bugarally show and stuff."

"You mean you never got to watch a real movie, either?"

Clearly this girl has lived a deprived life. "Not even Godzilla or anything?"

"What's a Godzilla?"

Yes, tell her about monster movies. This cannot possibly backfire.

"There's this biiiiiiiig monster, and he stomps on the city and breaks all the buildings like roooooar!" He holds his hands up in a mock "monster" pose.

Sarah just stares.

"That's awful. What kind of sicko would even make a movie like that?"

"What's wrong with it? It's all pretend anyway." It wasn't as though there were real cities under attack at any point.

Sarah speaks slowly and very clearly.

"I told you before: I saw a monster eat my dad."

"Oh." He looks down, kicking at the ground a bit in his embarrassment. It just seems so... well, unreal. It's hard to exactly believe. "...Sorry."

"...whatever. I'm just gonna keep looking for Mom."

She suits actions to words and peers under a nearby bench.

"Um... D'you want me to help you?"

He feels bad, bringing that up. He'd just meant to explain how cool it was, but obviously it had the opposite effect.

Sarah pauses for a long moment before replying.

"...if y'want."

"'Kay! Do you have any idea where she could be?" He's even trying to be polite, referring to the knife as a person and everything.

Sarah actually stops to think about that.

"Um...I was climbing one of those weird tall weeds that're all over the place when I saw some kinda weird animal with a bushy tail, and that's when I realized I didn't have Mom."

"Huh? What weeds?" There aren't any weeds that are that tall around here... You definitely couldn't climb them.

"Dunno. Never saw anything like 'em before."

Pause.

"...they were made of that 'wood' stuff Mom's handle is made of, so maybe they're knife plants?"

Oh.

"...You mean trees?"
