Every month, it seems like, something weird happens, and more often than not it involves combat. Naturally, it's best to be prepared. Where will you be when the 13th Hour strikes?

"Yeah. It's... at the Facility we went by a 27 hour clock, but that wasn't the same as this." He frowns gently, then points into the distance, looking back at Even to make sure he's listening. "I don't know if you know this or if you even want to, but Castle Oblivion is here. Only in the 13th Hour, but it's here."

Hm. Probably something to do with the disorientation of an extended day cycle, he thinks briefly, but his pondering of the issue is interrupted by two words that he'd never expect to hear in this setting.

Involuntarily, he clenches his hands into fists.

"...Why would you tell me this?" After everything that'd happened there? After everything he'd done there?

He lowers his hand, looking somber now. "I thought you should know. Instead of stumbling on it some night and wondering why no one had told you." He shrugs, arms limp at his sides. "Otherwise it's a different castle. But it's there, if you want to see it. Or if you want to avoid it. I do."

It takes a little longer before Even can respond to that, too. After all, who would know better just why Riku wouldn't want to set foot in there, he thinks?
And he's ... perhaps a little conflicted. On an intellectual level: is his research there? Are the facilities the same? Can he reclaim them and turn them towards his new studies? But to go back there, to the place of his greatest failures, the place of his death...

No. He's in no hurry. All the same, he's also reluctant to outright thank Riku - he does, however, give a nod of acknowledgement. "I can't see myself visiting in the near future."

"Yeah. I don't blame you." He shrugs, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Where are you going, anyway? I'll walk you." The scent of fear is strong around Even tonight, so he kinda thinks he's not out here on purpose, even though the man said otherwise.

Riku's presence isn't entirely helping that matter, but now the offer's been made: "If you would come with me in the direction of the Libra district?" he asks.

"Sure." He shrugs, starting to walk again. "Feels like I've been here forever. It's only been about six months, though."

Scientist snark bullet dodged...

Even gives a small nod of acknowledgment. "You've seen a lot in that time, I trust." Stuck your nose into a lot of things, he doesn't say.

"Well, I guess. Weird monster attacks are nothing new, but... the amount of festivals is kinda daunting. I got here just after Tanabata, but there have been like... five since then." Riku never partied this hard at home or at the facility. It's weird. "I've been kind of keeping to myself, since I'm more or less alone here."

"That does seem rather - excessive." Then again, it's hardly as Even sees the point in festivities to begin with. "This city is deeply damaged and people would rather spend their time on parties?"

"I... they seem to be claiming that they're for the Visitors. I'm not all that sure where the finances for it come from, though..." Then again, Hinoto-Ri is a bigger city than he's ever been in (excluding the Dark City, but it doesn't count in his mind), so they probably have the budget. "It's just... it must help to take peoples' minds off things."
