Hey guys, if anyone has cars or other vehicles that need fixing, take 'em down to Tony's Garage in Sagittarius. They hired me on as a mechanic just today, and they seem like they know what they're doing.

And if you've got a slightly more unusual vehicle, like, say, a mobile suit or enormous starship, I'll take a look at that too. Don't worry, I'm good at this kind of thing

Duo can be found going all over town on a scooter, fetching minor parts for repair jobs at the garage, and in one instance coffee and donuts. He's got a bitter look, and if you get close enough you can hear him grumbling various things that generally fit in with the theme of "'Get more coffee Duo.' 'Lemme show you how to replace a spark plug Duo.' Jr. Shop Associate. I finished a top of the line mobile suit prototype with spare parts from a junk heap and they make me a Jr. Shop Associate because I can't grow a beard."

Sounds like his job isn't going quite like he thought it would. You can catch him either at the garage or in line for one of his delivery trips.

Ah, the donut shop. While standing in line, Duo might notice a familiar face ahead of him. Asem was in line, as well, and he had a slip of paper in his hands.

He peered over at the paper. "They also got you picking up snacks for someone's office?"

[second_destiny]

"Huh?" Asem turned around. He hadn't noticed Duo in the line. "Oh. Um. Yeah." He made a face that indicated that he clearly did not think very much of this. "I'm sure you know how cops and donuts get along."

He showed Asem a similar slip of paper.

"Like magnets and iron. And here I was hoping to actually be working on what I was hired to do."

"You aren't the only one. I want to be patrolling the city, not running errands."

[maxwells_silver_scythe]

"I guess it's something to do, at least."

He shrugged, but looked like he was trying to convince himself more than Asem.

"So you're a cop, now?"

[second_destiny]

"Yep. I figured it'd work since I've been a soldier."

He chuckled, imagining a gundam chasing down a purse snatcher. "Well, could be worse. If the cops have time to waste on donuts, things can't be THAT bad in this town."

Could you possibly fix a moped to use the kind of engines they have here? Mine runs on gasoline, but I've yet to find anyone who sells it.

[And her moped was a present from her uncle and her baby.]

It's just an internal combustion engine, right? That should be a piece of cake.

Do you happen to know the prices for such a repair? Or is there perhaps a favor I could do for you in return if I can't afford it?

I'd have to take a look at it, at least. I don't know if I can do it for favors anymore, since I don't own the garage.

I can ask the manager after you look at it and give me a price. If nothing else, I'm looking to open a delivery business and could see about giving him a discount for a while to make up for the costs.

Cute. So you said something's wrong with the engine?

Yes, it runs on gasoline, but I've noticed the vehicles around here run primarily on steam. Since there's no place to purchase gasoline around here, I'd like it converted so it could also run on steam.

Whew, switching the engine entirely? That's not gonna be easy.

I mean I can DO it, it just will take a while.

I would be grateful if you did, unless you think it would be wiser to simply purchase another one from here. [Even if it is her baby, she can be practical. It's just how much her uncle paid for it that makes her unwilling to part with the one she has.]

Nah, I like I challenge. I'll just-

[And then the source of Duo's troubles appears. Remember how he mentioned "Tony's" Garage? Tony is a huge, mildly overweight man in sweaty overalls with a big moustache. Anyone from modern day Earth would have trouble looking at him without thinking "Mario bros."]

"Hey, what d'you think you're doing, Maxwell? You can chat with your girlfriend after work."

She's not my girlfriend, she's a customer.

"Well why didn't you say so? You should have sent her to me. I'll fix up her little scooter in no time!"

Mr. Maxwell has already agreed to do the job, sir.

[Does he even have the red hat with a T on it? 8D]

"We don't normally allow Jr. Shop Associates actually work unsupervised on customer's vehicles by themselves."

I can totally handle this.

"We talked about this, Maxwell."

[Duo heaves a sigh.]

I can totally handle this, sir.

"...Alright. But word one of complaint and you're done."

Before he starts, sir, I'd like to discuss the matter of payment with you.

You see, I have no funds to spare at the moment. However, I need my moped fixed up so that I may start a delivery business. I was wondering if it would be possible to exchange your services for mine. That is, you allow Mr. Maxwell to do the work and I will perform deliveries for you for free until the cost evens out.
