Sweet Velvet [General Open Velvet Room Visit]

The moment the glowing blue door is opened, the sounds of life grow quiet. The hum of an engine far up ahead. This is the inside of a train. The entire cabin is covered in blue and white highlights, seats wide and spacious, looking like a victorian-era train. Soft and comforting music can be heard in the background, calming the souls of those who enter. The windows are open and outside a breathtaking view of a starry night sky. Is the train flying? Why does it sound like it’s going on tracks, then?

For newcomers, this may seem a little random, but it surely sparks some curiosity, doesn't it? Strange doors appearing out of nowhere and all… obviously this merits some investigation!

Even as the doors go towards the next cabin open, the theme stays the same. It's very blue. The furniture consists of soft sofas and chairs, perfect for relaxing and taking a breather, especially in the company of others.

A few more cabins opens up to a bar-like one.


The bar is spacious and large. Like the rest of the train, this place is oddly calming; as if all the troubles of the city have melted away. Yet there's excitement in the air; not unlike the first summoning of a Persona. A multitude of blue butterflies are flying on the ceiling overhead, their wings softly flapping. Some will sometimes fly down on the the shoulders and hair of the guests.

The lights were mostly out, the dim bar setting made even more evident. The remaining lights, however, pointed to a musical setup. In the back, a single dark figure bouncing his head back and forth, as the softer music of the other cabin changed into something a lot more upbeat.

A tall figure sat in the farthest corner, which was hard to see without the lights, his siluet black against the blue room. The easiest way to recognize him is the large nose...they can’t be human.

A figure with ash blonde hair and bright yellow eyes greets you, smiling softly before bowing.

"Welcome to the Velvet Room." Her voice is filled with confidence; she has grown much over the past year with the Visitors. "My name is Caroline...and this is my brother William."



"This place exists between mind and matter... a room for those who gave forged a contract... for those who are here for the first time, you now must know that by awakening to the power of Persona granted to you by or Master Philemon, you are bound to a contract. If this power is still growing within you, it will come soon and you are still welcome here. You are our Guests within this Velvet Room. Inside of you lies the ability to hold multiple Personas and wield their powers...a wildcard ability. However the rules of this world are rather… unique."

She clutched her book with one hand, smiling.

"As you continue to live here longer and aid this ailing world, the connection and bonds you forge will reinforce your Destiny String, and allow you to unlock your full potential. Once your skills have matured enough, you will be able to unlock even more powerful Personas within you. Please see Master Igor if you wish to learn more."

"The three of us have been instructed to aid you to the best of our abilities. I hope you find your stay tonight enjoyable. Our Master has said that there will be many obstacles fighting against you in the upcoming months...and we wish to prepare you as best as we can."

Once her speech is done, she moves back behind the bar’s counter, leaving the guests to decide what they wish to do now.

[What is happening

Multiple personas? Wildcard? Destiny string? Hell, why are there butterflies indoors and doors popping out of nowhere? Jonathan's spent the last month desperately trying to find out more about life here and why he was dragged in, but this kinda reverses all of that process. He's just. Going to take that warning of more obstacles. That's the only thing he can fathom right now.

...The music is calming, but doesn't disperse confusion. Unfortunately, he's not going to do something at attention-grabbing as doing a somersault and setting the carpet on fire, but he will be approaching someone! Anyone will do at this point, honestly.]

Excuse me, but is the term 'multiple Persona' literal...? [Look, he's new here, okay. There's also a butterfly who has laid claim to his hair, but he doesn't seem to notice it.]

[The lady behind the bar might have not been included in the conversation, but she certainly knows what's going on. She pushes a blue drink towards him.]

[Oh hey! Jonathan doesn't exactly approach her first, seeing as she seems like a Way Too Important person and (may or may not be very trustworthy) but! He doesn't really question why the drink is blue.

Okay, maybe he does.

Uh.] Oh, hello... by the way, is this alcoholic? [law hero pls] I'm sorry, I don't drink.

[inb4 the drink is soda] How do multiple Personas work, though? [Since his knowledge of Personas is SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE HEAD AN ENTITY POPS UP]

[It's not the first time that Even's been in here, of course. But it's a relaxing enough place, and he can appreciate that. So he's heading for the counter for now, to acquire a drink and think about things... perhaps ask a few questions.]

[This is so incredibly bizarre. Maybe he should just turn around and leave? It feels a little wrong to simply ignore this place, though. Not to mention rude, if he is, indeed, a Guest. But he hasn't summoned his Persona even once yet - should he really be here?

Perhaps he'll just watch.

Shelly gravitates towards the counter for now. He has no intentions of drinking, but it's best to appear natural, rather than completely lost. Which is how he might feel.]

March 18th, OTA then heading toward Caroline

For a while, Sébastien just... stood there incredulously. Bound to a contract? Nobody had told him about that before! Did this mean he had to help with... whatever was wrong here (everything)? And fight in whatever was coming? Ugh, he was not made for this at all! Deciding not to disturb the DJ and weirded out by the long-nosed man, he decided to approach the blonde woman at the bar instead.

"Excuse me," he said to get her attention, "can you tell me why I was picked to come here? Everybody else looks like a fighter, but I'm... not."

She pushed him a drink before speaking.

"Humanity is funny that way! You have much more inner strength than you might think. Perhaps not as a fearless warrior of legends, but even aiding others or just repairing the city is also a noble deed..."

When he'd come back from his impromptu trip back home, this was the obvious choice Souji had for a first stop -- he needed to see more of what sort of changes Igor made to the place since the day he first became a guest in the Velvet Room. Though it felt odd, being joined by so many other people, he found himself shrugging that off after a moment; this was Hinoto-Ri, after all. There was no reason for him to be feeling awkward about this.

With that in mind, he goes to sit down and starts people-watching, chin rested on his palm. Though he certainly doesn't look like he's against some small talk...

After spending some time making idle chitchat at the bar, he found himself glancing around for the Velvet Room Attendants Igor's hired this time. Caroline seemed to be an amiable sort, at least...not unlike Margaret, but there was more than likely a fine difference between the two of them. No two people are the same, after all.

Eventually, he does spy the woman in velvet and approaches, raising a hand in simple greeting.

She waves a hand back at him in good spirits.

"Hello, and welcome to the Velvet Room!" She gave a small bow before pushing him a bluish drink, umbrella and all. She'd seen one like him before, but knew it wasn't the same one. Still there was a bit of information she could gleam rather easily.

"You have been a guest at the Velvet Room before, correct? Your eyes seem far more relaxed than most new Guests I have met."

[There's someone in here who's wiggling a little nervously - Tsukasa doesn't like this place. It has such a strange feeling, like the hidden field She led him to - but even worse. Still, there's a vaguely friendly face, once he pushes aside the embarrassment he still feels for literally running into him, and he heads over.]

There is an athletic looking guy on the dance floor right now, dancing to the DJ's electronica. He seems quite good at what he's doing, too! His moves are fluid and perfectly in time with the beat. Almost like he's been trained to do this...

[What is this place? Dirk scrunches his eyebrows behind his big-ass shades and takes a few wary steps farther into the velvet room. There's a bar, and more people... there are always a lot of people around here, aren't there?

He dismisses the thought and takes a spot in the corner of the room. From here he can observe the mysterious woman with the light hair, over there, and the man with the Daft Punk helmet, and the big-nosed dude looking creepy in the corner. Also he can mentally critique the skill of the DJ from here, which is fun.]

Yessss I was hoping this would happen.

[And tell him, mysterious Guest, what is this DJ's current critique of skill?

Especially when he noticed he was being watched, and really started dropping the beats.]

[ This was all very interesting, to say the least.

Flynn observed the room from a discreet corner in silence. Many people interacting, inquiring, mostly about Personas. These mysterious entities said to be part of one's soul...

His search thus far led to no clues about how he was to go about his mission. Tales about an Aramid Room and the entity behind it were promising, but this didn't seem to be the room he was looking for.

Isabeau watched from a short distance behind him. No one bothered to show that they noticed - it was either common to have one's Persona out at this location, or she looked too similar to being a Visitor. ]

Perhaps you should speak to the attendants.

[ Perhaps, indeed, but he was not very inclined to do so.

After a few more minutes of idleness, he left the corner and made his way to the counter. ]

"Excuse me, could you tell me more about this... multiple persona issue?"

[The person behind the counter looked sad when she saw him. It was hard to understand why she was exactly but...she looked pained from seeing him, or what he had turned to, perhaps.]

Ahhh. Hello.

[She seems distracted, to say the least. The drink she offers him lacks the usual polish, just a simple blue raspberry juice.]

Visitors are able to use more than one Persona. I wouldn't call it an issue, really, more a wonderful way to discover other sides of yourselves...
