WE'VE GOT FUN & GAMES

Who: The Visitors (Open Log)
Where: Scorpio, Cancer, Aquarius, and Taurus wards.
Summary: The Zodiac Monster Circus has arrived!
When: 19th of April, 11AC
Warnings: Evil clowns, body horror, terrifying circus-themed monstrosities.

It starts with four massive circus tents assembling in the four corners of the city. As strange clowns pour out of the tents, hooting and laughing with sadistic glee, a booming voice echoes out across Hinoto-Ri.

"LLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAADIES ANNNNNNND GGGGGGGGGENTLEMEN! WELCOME TO THE GRRRRRRRRREATEST SHOW ON EARTH! IN THE SCORPIO DISTRICT: THE ARIES CARNIVAL'S WORLD-FAMOUS ANIMAL ACT! IN THE CANCER DISTRICT: THE HHHHOUSE OF MIRRRRRORRRS! IN TAURUS, THE UNUSUAL AND DISTRACTING FREEEEEEAKSHOW! AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, IN AQUARIUS, A CALVACADE OF WHIMSY AND DARING WITH A DUAL-BOOKED SHOW OF CLOWNS AND OUR VERY OWN HIGH WIRE ACT!"

The circus has come to town! Jolly fun for everyone*!

[He's not gone more than a couple of steps from the entryway of the tent when he glances back, relaxing a little as he sees it isn't one of the clowns.]

So what do you think..?

[Soujirou offers a faint smile in her direction before he turns his head, scanning the area.]

With the sound of creaking chains, a trapeze slowly lowers from the roof of the tent, a pair of feral Aerialists on it - one hanging from the bottom, the other perched on the top. As the one on the bottom hurls himself into the air with a flip, curling up into a ball, the other lashes out with a long ribbon, the end tangling around the curled-up Aerialist before jerking it sharply downwards at Soujirou, using the body of its partner as an impromptu hammer.

"It looks really creepy. Let's be..."

She then notices the impending attack! She can't get over to Soujirou in time to defend against it, so all she can do is offer warning.

"Look out!"

His lips twitch in a smirk as he hears the sound. Guess there's something around here after all.

Soujirou turns around at the same time Atoli cries out, freeing his blade from its scabbard. He sidesteps the incoming aerialist, slashing horizontally as he pivots out of its path. "-thanks!" he chirps, since it's only polite.

The Aerialist that was made into a weapon is down but not out quite yet - even though it was nearly bisected by Soujirou's slash, it holds on, its partner manipulating its ribbon to hurl it at Atoli, the dying demon snapping at her in a feeble attempt to sink its teeth into her flesh before it expires.

The creaking of chains announces the descent of four more Aerialists, all of them preparing to attack.

Well, this sure was a good time for defending. Atoli's staff immediately appears in a burst of golden light, and she moves it in front of her face right away.

Stubborn things, aren't they? Soujirou quickly dashes after, swinging his blade at the ribbon before he thrusts it at the demon-bludgeon to try finishing the job. At least Atoli seems to have herself handled, but he's not going to leave her fending for herself either way.

Things are just getting started, he notes, if those sounds are anything to say about it. The samurai won't turn his back for long, although he'll take up a defensive stance in front of Atoli. He's used to playing tank, after all!

Spinning their ribbons, the Aerialists launch blasts of wind at the pair, hooting and shrieking like a troupe of rabid macaques.

Wind? Perfect, she has nothing to fear from Wind. Innis's powers should nullify that attack entirely, for her at least.

She uses the opportunity to bring it forth and cast Mamagnadyne. Who's laughing now?

...not her, actually, this is stressful regardless of her elemental defense.

Unfortunately, Soujirou doesn't have any sort of elemental defense, so the best he can do is stand and take it unless he chose to activate his ultimate defense. He glances back briefly at his current comrade, but it seems she's got things covered.

He decides not to call Yoshitsune just yet, eying the Aerialists as he tries to figure out the best way to attack.

The Mamagnadyne is more than the Aerialists can take, the flying rocks shredding through their bodies to an accompaniment of sobbing laughter. Scraps of meat and torrents of blood rain down from the ceiling, along with a single long ribbon.

Truth be told, Atoli is still unused to any combat this... visceral.

"Ewwwww!"

She clutches her eyes shut, cowering in an attempt to be as blood-free as possible at the end of this. It doesn't exactly work (although her game outfit is conveniently mess-proof).

At least the creatures were taken care of, but the resulting is pretty disgusting! A lot of blood is one thing, but even in the game world of Elder Tale, defeated enemies never exploded into something like this.

Soujirou grimaces at the mess, shielding his face with a hand. "U-uwah...gross!"

As the rain of bits stops, there is silence. It extends for a while until it is shattered by an incongruously cheerful squeaking sound as a Klown runs into the room. Dropping to its knees, it frantically gathers up some scattered bits of Aerialist before looking over at Atoli and Soujirou and snarling. Drawing out a small horn, it squeezes it fiercely, more Klowns rushing in at the signal.

They fan out around the first Klown, acting as a shield as it gathers up more Aerialist chunks.

This already looked bad. That one in the center had to be a priority target, but with that many of these demented clowns in front of it, it didn't look like her sword-wielding companion for the moment could attack it.

Well, she was more than happy to magic it, but since her game magic was weak in comparison to her Personas, she once again called on Innis - this time for an Ice Dance.

He isn't sure what that creepy clown is doing, but he has a feeling it shouldn't be left to do it! The samurai begins to rush forward, only to skid to a halt as more Klowns come out to guard it.

Although he's not sure how well they'll fair against any magic, Soujirou's quite thankful of Atoli's assistance. He tosses a quick smile over his shoulder at her before he rushes in to take advantage of her attack, whether it be to cut down any distracted Klowns or make a move for the central one if she manages to take down any of those in the outer ring.

Several of the Klowns stagger under the Ice Dance, and one shatters into chunks of frozen meat and crystalline grease paint, but it doesn't leave enough of an opening for a person to get through.

Even if it had, the point would be moot, because the Klown in the center has finished gathering Aerialist chunks and has started stuffing them in its mouth to the accompaniment of sobbing honks. As it ingests the flesh of the Aerialists, its body begins to writhe and change, long, ribbon-like tendrils of flesh growing out from the joints on its body.

Pulling out a brass horn wrapped in paint-smeared ribbons, it snarls as it points the object at Atoli and blows into the horn, unleashing a massive blast of wind.

Nope! That still won't work. It's like Innis blocks most kinds of magic or something!

But maybe the best show is in their minds. And so, she casts its new skill, Goldeneye. Who knows what they'll think of each other or the two Visitors once they're under the sway of illusion?

     Wait, is that thing eating the...

     Soujirou makes a face, watching as the thing changes and grows. As if it wasn't already disgusting enough. He wouldn't have been able to get to Atoli in time even as he saw the creature take aim for her, so he's glad that she's not having trouble with the elemental damage, at least.

     "Guess we'll have to step up our game plan too..." he murmurs, watching as Atoli casts something else. Instead of waiting, the samurai turns his attention back to their opponents again. "Yoshitsune..!" Above him, a figure coalesces in a flash of red light, vaguely humanoid with spindly legs and a pair of long, curved blades for arms. It lifts its foxlike masked head as though regarding its opponent before it surges forward, twin blades gleaming as it darts to the side and then back again, trying to take the Aerialist-mutated Klown by surprise.

The effects of the Goldeneye spell wash over the Klowns - not all of them are affected, but the ones who are are suddenly wearing sober gray business suits and carrying leather briefcases. As one, they open their cases and remove paper calculators, tapping away on the buttons.

Apparently they are hallucinating being accountants now.

The remaining Klowns hurl themselves physically at Atoli, while the Aerialist Klown fires off another blast of wind at Soujirou's Persona.

That, however, she can't handle with Innis. She's not sure she'll ever be able to completely mitigate physical attacks, but she doesn't really need to. Either way, she takes up a defensive stance and attempts to switch her active Persona to Lukahn.

     That won't do- Soujirou's already figured Atoli to be some magic-using or healer class, and if she's coming under direct attack, then he's not properly doing his job! Trusting his Persona to hold up against the Aerialist Klown's attack, the samurai turns his attention to the others that have targeted Atoli.

     "Hey!"

     Darting in, he brandishes his blade, swinging it in a broad arc to cast Samurai's Challenge. If it works, he should be able to draw all the aggro so that Atoli can be freed up to do other things. Plus, if he successfully draws the 'hate' of the other Klowns, his follow-up skill will help him counterattack, although not without first taking damage from them.
