burgers and explosions;
Who: Taro and OPEN
Where: Capricorn, in the Central Park
Summary: Taro may originally be Japanese but he's been in America long enough to consider himself American. Certain traditions should be followed.
Warnings: ... Not really.
Music: America Fuck Yeah [NSFW]
After making his network post, Taro goes back to cooking his burgers. It's hard to get it just right, but he's had plenty of time to practice and enough fast food jobs to know how to make sure it looks good. He's got a blanket spread out with cups and bowls for the soda and the chips respectively, and there's the sounds of Bon Jovi music if anyone gets close, despite there being no CD player.
Later in the night, Taro's got a lighter out and the fireworks ready. None of them are really big, but they're loud. Someone might find him either right before he lights one, or after - they're not exactly quiet and the explosions are probably audible from a long distance away.

"I don't think you intended any offense, if that helps."

He rubs the back of his neck a little bit. "She's my best friend. We drive each other crazy sometimes, but that sort of how we show each other we care. It's a weird relationship. But I like it."
Not gonna go into how much her situation right now sucks, nope. Today is supposed to be a happy day. He grabs a plate and takes a burger off the grill for himself.
"Have you seen fireworks before, Takakage?"
no subject
... not that he could say the same for himself, but that's besides the point.
"I've read about modern fireworks, but haven't seen them." They are quite the engineering marvel, actually. "I've seen firecrackers, though."

"These aren't the really big kind - those are kind of dangerous to do if they're not over water, and they're really heavy - but they should be fun. They're just kind of loud. The concept is pretty much the same, though."
no subject
Though... he never did fare well with loud noises. Mental note to plug his ears, or something of the sorts.

He wags his finger at Takakage. "But no straining yourself. I mean it."

His control over water has not yet fully returned, though he is still capable of basic kinesis. Putting water under pressure was still difficult, though.

Stop making him fuss young man. Eat your veggies(?).
no subject
Take note that he didn't give a concrete promise.

"Good. Now relax a little! Today's supposed to be fun!"
no subject
"I'll go sit down for a while, if you do not mind."
He gives Taro a nod, then finds himself a place underneath a nearby tree.

He grins widely and goes back to cooking. He'll poke Takakage more later.
