Fortune Favors the One that Kicks the Most Ass.

Who: Yu Narukami and OPEN
Where: To the tram line (good luck getting it to work) to get from the Mays in the Virgo district, to his apartment in Libra.
Summary: Big brothers are always protective of their little sisters. Naturally, when scorpions overrun the city, Yu needs to move heaven and earth to get back home and make sure Nanako is okay.
Warnings: ...don't try to stop Yu from getting home. Just don't. It won't end well for you. ~~Which means yes, go ahead and try.~~

Yu didn't have issues with fighting if he needed to; lord knows he did enough of it in the TV world. That was the TV world though, where things were isolated to just those that had knowledge of the alternate world and were capable of entering the TVs on their own (if they weren't shoved in, that is). Right now? The whole city was ground zero, where anyone could be a target, or be turned against people, or get hurt...

...including Nanako.

Naturally, Izanagi was staying out as Yu made his way from work to the tram that would take him across the river. He wasn't entirely sure if it was running or not, considering what was going on, but he didn't care if he had to jump onto the tracks and run across the water. He was going to get back to the Libra district and make sure Nanako was safe. His Persona was essentially casting Ziodyne nonstop as he hurried down the street, ignoring the fact that his feet were crunching against scorpion carcasses. People possessed by their own zodiac tried to shamble in his way, but the butt of his sword to the back of their heads had them out of his way pretty quickly.

Seriously, when it came to Nanako's safety? Heaven help the person that tried to stop him.

"We're almost there, just a little further."

She doesn't want to say anything else to jinx them like another Scorpio coming at them or either persona slipping up. Amaterasu is worried about her dad, ok?

Yu nodded, not trusting his voice enough to reply. They arrived without anything more than the scorpions harassing them, a strange lull in attacks coming the closer they got to the tram.

He paused as they approached, looking up at the vehicle. It seemed like it was still working, but...

"Something doesn't seem right."

"Hmm?"

Other than the monsters, what else can go wrong?

"What's the matter?"

Yu frowned, trying to figure out what was wrong here. Something was off... something was missing...

"...there's no power."

There wasn't the hum of machinery. The lights were on in some places, but there was a distinct lack of important functions actually working.

Oh...

Oh crap. The tram's the quickest way back to Libra and yet it's not working in the most crucial time that it needs to be?!

"There has to be a switch or something to turn it on!"

Yu gave a nod, motioning for her to stay back as he hopped up onto the platform, heading right to a car. If there needed to be some kind of power operation, maybe it was inside the main car? First, he'd need to get inside...

He dug his fingers into the tram door, pulling on it with all the strength he could muster... before it finally gave enough for a ton of scorpions to come tumbling out on him.

Oh...holy...

HOLY MOTHERFLIPPING WHAT WHAT.

First instinct was to set out a fire to burn them like normal but Yukiko had to think: fire burning the metal is not good. And if someone uses a certain lightning power then both would be hit. Time for Plan B:

Stomp on as many as you can and get them off your friend by smacking them away with the fan. It's what she's doing now.

Congratulations, Yukiko: don't blink, or you'll miss the only time you'll ever see Yu flail in his life. Because, seriously, scorpions. DO. NOT. WANT.

It took him a moment to get it together and break out his sword, using the bludgeon part to knock them off of him. Quite a few stung him in the process, and by the time Yukiko got to him, his head was swimming, fighting against the urge to pass out from poisoning.

Oh yes, she saw that little display but didn't think about the humor of it but rather the idea of 'GET THE HELL OFF HIM YOU LITTLE FREAKS' and smacking and stepping down on the buggers. It was a damn miracle that she didn't get stung.

Or maybe Amaterasu was feeling pretty pissed off that these bastards decided to hurt her father's human...or maybe she was showing some of Yukiko's anger at it. All they needed to know was not to piss off the girls because they get scary.

"Narukami-kun!"

Gods, please be alright! That's all she could think about as she gets to his side.

"I'm all right," Yu tried to insist. But no, he wasn't alright; that had hurt dammit. Yukiko, please tell him you have some status heals on you.

"No you're not: being stung by poisonous bugs does not count as being fine!"

Sadly she doesn't have those healing skills on hand and will have to resort to physical healing ones instead.

"We need to go to the hospital: I don't know if you've been poisoned and I don't have anything on hand."

"B-but... Nanako...!"

They had to get to the Libra district to check on her, to make sure she was safe at home. She was more important than a little poison right now...!

"You don't want her to see you hurt, right? We'll call her on the COMP but you need to get checked out. Please do this."

Not for her but for yourself. She doesn't want to lose you if this poison gets any worse.

Yu slumped at that, feeling a little woozy thanks to the poison. Dammit, he should have been able to just keep pushing on...! He stood up, trying to show that he was well enough to keep going... but that wasn't happening, as he slumped back against the control panel.

Pushing harder would make the poison spread and that would make him be down longer. Wait, moving would still do the same thing wouldn't it?

This is really wishful thinking on Yukiko's part but could there be something that she could use to move Yu without having him move?

~~Or did someone leave the tram manuel around so she could turn that on too?~~

They still needed to get the power on... if they needed to take this to the hospital? Where was the hospital again? Yu rubbed his forehead, having trouble thinking.

"...Yukiko, where is the hospital from here again?"

"It's in Leo from what I remember."

Ok, can't really move him from a smaller moving device. Tram seems to get the only way to go...maybe. Not really having a choice here.

That was farther than he'd care to walk right now. Yu let out a breath, turning around and motioning inside the car.

"We need to get the tram working. Can you lead inside?"

Yukiko simply nods as she does so, keeping a hold of Yu. Once inside, the first thing she does is set him down before going to the controls and try to start the thing up. Meanwhile, Amaterasu is watching over both men; the human and her father of course as her own was trying desperately to do everything.

Damn bugs poisoning her good friend!

Yu rested heavily on the seat, letting out a tired breath. It was a bit cramped in the car with two concerned Persona hovering around him, but he still found comfort in their presence.

"What does it look like?" he asked, though he had a feeling he already knew the answer to that. It wasn't like any of them had ever needed to control a tram before.

"Like a mess."

Yukiko frowned at the control panel; all those buttons and screws weren't helping at all. By the time she turns it on and gets it going, Yu could be...!

No, now's not the time to think such things! There has to be a way to get to Leo quickly. Hold on...!

"I think I have an idea. Stay put and don't get up!"

Like a flash, the future innkeeper dashed out the car with Amaterasu trailing behind. Just what was that girl planning and would she get it in time? It takes about ten minutes before Yu and Izanagi can hear a 'varoooom' coming towards them.

And what comes to them is kind of surprising given that it's Yukiko: she showed up riding a motorcycle. Blame the poor guy for leaving his keys in the ignition.

"I'm sorry this is sudden but we can't waste anymore time."

Yu leaned forward in his seat to watch her run off, Izanagi planting a hand on his shoulder to keep him in place. What was she doing...? He almost got up to follow her, but he swayed unsteadily, needing to be guided to leaning back in his seat again by his Persona. Damn... sustained poison was really painful...

...and then he heard the sound of the motorcycle...

Yu leaned forward in his seat again as it got closer, idling just outside of the tram doors. And... really, the expression on his face described it all.

"Y...Yukiko...?"

Seriously, why was this a thing? How did she even know how to ride a motorcycle?

"It'll be quicker if we take this instead of the tram; I know how to work this at least."

Yukiko kicks the stand up as she gets off and goes straight to the other teen, grabbing his hand and trying to pull him up.

"You'll need to hold onto me until we get there, ok?"

Normally, she would be blushing at the contact but this was more life threatening. The feelings will just have to take a backseat until they were out of the woods.

"...of course," was the only reply Yu could manage. Because seriously, how else could he react to Yukiko driving up in a motorcycle like a boss?

...Izanagi might have let out something like a chuckle as she helped him up. He tried not to lean on her too much as she led him out to the bike. Though... he had to admit to not minding sitting behind Yukiko and holding onto her...

...stop laughing, Izanagi. It's distracting.

He settled behind her once she was on the bike, wrapping his arms around her waist.
