A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory
Who: Riku (
dreamprotector) and Xion (
whereibelong)
Where: around Pisces 6-07, evening a few days after this
Summary: Memory troubles, alternate universes, Kingdom Hearts Is Suffering, and so it's time to figure at least some of it out. Or at least, that's what Riku thinks.
Warnings: KH3D-spoilers, real possibility of Xion-induced-cavities at some point probably, but otherwise we should be fine
[It really doesn't take much more than just hanging around, some subtle asking around and just a bit of patience to track her down... Xion... the girl that looked like Kairi... Sora's replica... or so Sora himself at said at least.
He really can't help the frown that steals on his face whenever he thinks about her for a longer period of time; he remembered meeting her, talking to her on his first night in Promenade and more recently back home... in Sora's heart ("Riku. What do you wish?").
But somehow it feels like there is something missing, like he's met her beyond those two encounters... like there's a faded dream or memory trying to push to the surface. He's not sure what to make of that.
And so he just waits right in front of Xion's apartment for her to come back, leaning back against the door with his arms crossed.
They couldn't keep avoiding this conversation forever after all.]

Yeah... probably.
[She's not thrilled at the prospect at all though... and it probably shows in her voice]
Is there somewhere you want to go, or... [She shakes her head] I just got dinner, so... we should probably find somewhere to sit down....
no subject
But yeah, this is not exactly going to be a hallway conversation, so...]
If you want, we can go up to my room.
[Might as well offer it, rather than impose on her.]
no subject
[There's... really no avoiding it anyway. She wouldn't have minded her room, but it was still rather bare. Furniture shopping was not something she'd ever had any sort of experience with before, not something she'd ever needed to do before.]
Um... where is it?
[Unlike Riku, she has no idea that they live in the same building. Usually... when a difficult situation like this came up Xion usually put more effort into avoiding than seeking it out.
Especially considering the discomfort with how Riku didn't remember. He recognized her, sure... but... all the things they'd gone through, the things they'd done - together or separately - in the past two years (before and after she'd met the Organization)...]

He turns towards the stairs, one hand slipping into his jeans' pockets as he nods towards the set that leads upwards.]
Just some floors up from here. Apartment 10-1.
[With that he takes the lead - glancing back when he reaches the stairs to make sure that she's coming.
It's strange... he barely knows her, and yet... and yet it feels like he should.]
no subject
And it's getting harder to sort of swallow down the nervousness at how this whole talk would go. She'll probably have to reheat her dinner later - she doesn't have much appetite all of a sudden.
When they finally reach Riku's room Xion mutters a quiet thank you, following him inside. The room is pretty sparse too. It must be part of having just arrived.
She shifts a little, awkwardly. Should... she just start, or...?]
no subject
He is about as unsure as her where to start this, if he should let her start, if he should ask questions instead... though well... he has called this meeting. He might as well start it off too. Seek for similarities. Try to get rid of the awkward that is hanging between them.]
...I don't suppose you remember ever visiting a place called Promenade?
no subject
That's... that place Aqua mentioned. [She frowns, thinking for a moment, before finally shaking her head.] I've been to a lot of other worlds but... I don't think I've been to any place like that.
[The name certainly doesn't sound familiar at all, at least.]
no subject
Well... he's certainly glad to hear that... he'd have to seek her out sometimes later on.
That has nothing to do with Xion though... whom he really should focus on for now.]
I see... [He presses his lips together than shakes his head lightly.] Don't worry about it.
no subject
[She sounds skeptical, though she lets it pass for now. Really though, what was she supposed to do? He remembered her from somewhere, but that somewhere wasn't here at all...
Another time, maybe.]
And I guess you don't remember me at all from home.
[She sounds like she knows what the answer is. Or at least what she thinks the answer is.]
no subject
He hesitates a bit at her statement... it isn't exactly correct after all, but... should he mention it? Should he tell her about...?
He keeps his silence for another moment as he eyes her, searching his feelings... finding... yes... he trusts her. He isn't sure why, but... he does.]
I remember meeting you... deep inside Sora's heart.
...That's not what you are referring to though... right?
no subject
But it didn't make sense. Axel and Roxas had stopped her. How... how had this happened?]
No, it isn't.
... I don't understand.
[She's trying to keep calm but it's rather difficult when it feels like you're facing all your worst fears made reality somehow.
It didn't happen to you. It didn't happen to you and you're fine and you're here- but if it was so fine then why did it feel like something had stabbed her in her replica's heart...?]
no subject
...I thought so. And I really don't either.
[He doesn't understand anything anymore. Why... why is she so familiar?
That's not really important though. Not right now at least. He takes a step towards her, slowly raising a hand.]
...Are you all right?
