Summary: Nessiah has a mind to see what magic still works in this place - and he's chosen Tarot cards to experiment with.

[In the lobby of the hotel, there is a strangely-dressed man - well, he looks younger than that, really - set up at a table with a deck of Tarot cards. A small sign says only "Tarot readings".

Nessiah rarely did this. He was known as the Prophet for the ability to manipulate events as much as an actual gift at prophecy; however, he did possess a knack at telling the future with a bit of help. It seemed time to see if this still worked in a foreign place.

For the moment, the readings would be for free, as he had no idea if they would be accurate or not and was merely trying to test his own skills rather than make anything out of it.]

[Tarot readings will be real readings from an actual deck.]

Ruri peered over at the table and the man, then the cards as she walked in from one of her trips to the park, curious she walked over.

"Those are those cards they classify the persona under, correct?"

[grancenturio]

"Indeed they are. However, in many cases, their original use is that of fortune-telling. I wish to see if they have that capability here," Nessiah answered. "Would you like a reading?"

"Hrm, would it help you keep in practice? I'm not sure I really believe much about divination, but seeing as people here practice magic and there are demons about I'm not entirely certain it is as vague as back home."

"I am a bit rusty," he admitted with a small sigh. "So I wouldn't charge anything for my guesswork. But it could turn out well for you."

[Yamato normally didn't go to hotels or the like - why should he when he had his own, functioning apartment? - but a familiar spiritual signature caught his interest as he walked past, and well...

He entered, spotting Nessiah. Ah, he hadn't seen him since he gave him his enchanted Dragon]

Nessiah.

[Yamato greets as he comes close. Tarot Readings? Hrm...]

You can estimate the future?

Prophecy is one of my talents. Of course, that is always helped by being familiar with the world I'm in - so I felt it prudent to find out exactly how much my talents have suffered here.

She nods a bit.

"If it helps you out then I'll do what you need. I do know what it is like to not get to practice needed skills on a regular basis."

She lets out a small sigh at that.

With a small smile, he hands her the deck.

"Please shuffle the deck while thinking about your question. When you're finished, return the deck to me and tell me what it is you desire to know."

I normally don't put much faith into such things.

[Yamato looked pensive]

Not that I am denying their accuracy, but the future is a very unpredictable thing, even if one can see it.

[Since Yamato and Co. defied the Akashic Records that foretold many people's deaths on a regular basis]

...but what harm can it do? Very well, let me think of something to ask...

"Should it be specific or vague?"

She takes the deck and peers at it slightly with her usual blank expression.

"Whichever you prefer, though questions that are too specific run the risk of having answers that are too vague to be helpful. I wouldn't suggest choosing your dinner based on the cards."

[Nessiah pushed the cards toward him and waited.]

[Hrm, Yamato couldn't think of anything. His meritocracy idea fell through, he was no longer bound to his duties, he had a job now, and he was currently drifting in an aimless direction...]

I suppose I will be generic. Will my future be somewhat passable?

[Yamato picked up the deck of cards and shuffled them quickly yet efficiently, before setting it down on the table. This was the first time he would witness a tarot reading - he had only read about it in passing during his studies into the supernatural]

[Chrome had just been walking past when she sees this, and though she pauses for a second, curiosity prompts her to walk over.]

... Nessiah-san?

Hello again. Did you come for a reading?

"Exactly."

[Her one eye looks curiously at the deck of cards on the table, her head tilting to the side for a moment before she nods.] ... Okay. Do I just shuffle the cards?

She nods a bit and begins shuffling the cards.

"Understood. Lets go with the broader why are we here one then."

[When Naoya comes downstairs, he raises an eyebrow at the strangely-dressed man. He headed over towards him, eying his deck.]
