A Date to Remember

Who: Yu Narukami, Yukiko Amagi, and their stalkers (add in your character's tag as you post).
Where: Starting in Libra at the apartment building, coming to Scorpio and the theaters there.
Summary: Yu finally bit the bullet and asked Yukiko out on a date. Naturally, everyone needs to watch and marvel at the end results of the Amagi Challenge finally being beaten.
Warnings: Excessive silliness, flailing, and a popcorn.gif goddess.

Right now, Yu felt like the world could end, and he'd still be pretty damn happy.

He held the door out of the Libra apartment building open for Yukiko to exit first, sure to be the perfect gentlemen during their first date. He had wanted to ask her out for awhile on their world, but school work and TV work had made that near impossible. He almost got the chance during the summer, but ended up taking up a million jobs instead to help out Nanako -- not that he regretted a single moment, no matter how difficult it had been.

But here in Hinoto-Ri, there was plenty of opportunities for that date to finally happen, even with all the work he was doing to save up for a bigger apartment for him and Nanako. It had taken every bit of courage he could pull up, but he finally got the chance to ask during the Halloween party. And it was so damn worth it.

Not that he'd ever come out and say it like that.

Yu waited for Yukiko to exit before following after her. He kept his hand near hers, a subtle offer for her to take it if she wanted as they walked to the tram line that would take them to Scorpio district.

If someone asked her on a date around a year ago, she would politely (in her mind anyway) decline or Chie would step in front of them, telling them to back off. She was so busy at the inn and with school plus add in all of their adventures into the TV realm that the very idea of going out was pushed back to the farthest depths of her mind.

Then picture getting dragged into a city where the weird IS the norm. Luckily there's friends as well making it feel a bit better: one happened to be the one who she was going to spend time with tonight. It seemed simple: just a movie between the two of them. But since the Halloween party, Yukiko felt a little more giddy as time went on. Maybe realizing that this indeed WAS a date with a guy she really did like.

So when the time came, she walked alongside him with a smile on her lips. She noticed that small nudge (without her persona's help mind you) and slowly took her hand into his.

Well, all in all, this day had gone fairly well for Rise. She'd figured out that, in spite of randomly appearing in a weird new world again, she had not technically been kidnapped, her friends were here, and she'd gotten briefed on the general situation. Serious stuff - depressing stuff, really - but she could make the most of it.

More to the point, she was going to go see Yu-senpai! It was especially nice that she was in the same building as him, and she was walking up to the building when, suddenly, she saw something she hadn't really expected to see. Firstly, Yukiko touching a guy in a manner that wasn't punching Yosuke in the eye. Secondly, she and Yu were...holding hands. Affectionately. Very much datingly.

Rise was stunned for only a second before ducking behind a wall near the entrance to the apartment building to observe further, unobtrusively. She wasn't so much angry or jealous right now as in shock, and she wanted to make sure she was seeing what she thought she was seeing. For science. Or something.

And Kanji, meanwhile, was returning from a round of job applications looking a little worse for wear. Nonchalantly, he greeted Rise with a wave.

"Yo Kujikawa." Wait. "Uuuh...what you doin' exactly?"

Kanji wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box. To be fair, he hadn't noticed Yukiko or Yu farther away, just that he was dead tired and needed to go to bed soon if he was to try continuing with his search tomorrow.

Rise immediately grabbed her giant classmate and pulled him out of sight with her. "Shh! I'm trying to figure out what's going on."

She peered out from her hiding spot again, and whispered "I didn't even think Yukiko-senpai knew what a date was! What is she doing with him?"

Yu frowned slightly; did he just hear something? He turned just after Kanji disappeared from sight, a confused look on his face. Izanagi was chuckling in the back of his head, but he could not see anything that was obviously amiss; was he missing something here...?

Yukiko didn't hear anything but she noticed the look on Yu's face.

"Is everything alright?"

Even her own persona was a little confused.

"I... think so?"

He wasn't entirely sure, but it was entirely possible that he was hearing things. Besides, he had more important things to worry about. Yu turned to her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

"Shall we go?"

MEANWHILE back behind their sight...

"W-what the hell was that fo-" Kanji suddenly went quiet as she talked, and peeked directly from above her head. He was far less conspicuous. "What d'you mean trying to figure out something?"

He narrowed his eyes, seeing Yukiko and Yu at the far end of his view.

"Wait, are you saying Senpai and Yukiko-senpai are....dating?"

Wooha. Imagining a childhood friend dating Senpai was completely out of the left field and left him utterly confused. It made him thin about--

--Kanji was suddenly blushing like HE was the one going on the date.

Meanwhile away from the 'peepers'...

~~Yes, you two are peeping therefore peepers.~~

"Y-yes, we don't want to be late do we?" she asks, keeping her smile up. There was no way someone was going to try and mess this up. Or at least Yukiko hoped not.

"If they are it's news to me!" Rise hissed in the way only a person who's trying to yell in secret can. "Senpai was the same old too-cool-for-everyone pillar of manliness the other day, and now he's all lovey-dovey with Yukiko."

She stole another glance. There was definitely not only hand-holding, but hand-squeezing there. She looked back at Kanji and gave him a hard tap on the shoulder. "Focus, Kanji. We need to follow them and find out what's going on."

WHAAAAT.

"No way! Senpai can do what he wants and we ain't gonna spy on him!" Even if Yu himself had spied on him once, Kanji was not going to be bitter about that. Yet at the same time he was still peeking from his pillar. Imaging himself doing the same thing with...

...no he had to stop thinking about that.

"It's not spying! It's investigating!" Rise said, as assured of that as she'd ever been of anything. "You've known Yukiko-senpai forever, right? Has she ever been on a date? This is a mystery here!"

Quietly walking up behind Rise, Ruri stops with her usual deadpan and looks from her to Kanji.

"If you are spying I'd be more quiet. I heard you half a block away. Do you want me to get the two before they go so you can just ask them directly?"

Sorry you three, but Yu's already walking down the street, hand-in-hand with Yukiko, sparing her a warm smile that would make any girl melt with jealousy.

...someone may need to mop Rise up from the pavement.

It certainly said something for her rapt attention to the melting process that she didn't even register Ruri's comment except to shush her automatically while she watched the couple go off.

After a couple of seconds, though, she reacted with delayed appropriate surprise, registering the other girl for the first time. "H-hey! We're not spying! It's none of your business anyway," she said, proceeding to grab Kanji by the arm, fully intent on following Yu and Yukiko. "Come on, Kanji."

The silent wolf is SO accidentally wathing this. Probably ghosting after them both just in case they get in trouble and he needs to drop a horrific slaughter on whoever is harassing them.

He was not the only one who was accidentally watching this, for a seemingly innocent woman with black hair ~~the icon is a lie~~ was just passing by with having just filled out an application or two and was likely going to simply pay for a movie when she noticed a certain silent wolf ghosting after...

Ah. Hmhm... how quaint; a first date, representative? She almost smiled behind her mask.

"It's almost like their friends are more interested in them than anything." Eh, why not a little small talk in case they decide to look over? At least she is quiet, barely over a whisper.

Loken seems annoyed. People rolling up on him is rare and frustrating. He rumbles a quiet response.

"Could be."

"Mr. Loken?" Arturia asked as she came upon the two and saw them watching.... two people on a walk together. Huh.

"Is there a reason you're following them and--" Ah. Right she should introduce herself to the woman. She bowed her head briefly.

"Good day, Madam. I'm Arturia Pendragon."

Somewhere along the way, they'll probably pass the snark queen trying to get used to her new home.

...Well, then. This wasn't exactly the sight she was expecting. It's the kid from a week ago--only it looks like he's settling some...intimate matters. :|a

Shepard normally doesn't intrude in personal matters, but hey, at least she's willing to keep this sort of stuff off the record...so she'll see about following them. Yu? Yukiko? You'll probably hear the sound of thudding metal footsteps at some point.

Was that...metal she heard on the ground?

Maybe it was just someone going on their business. There could be no way someone was following them at all.

Yu was... trying not to look back himself, mostly because he knew that if he did, he'd probably have a fanboy moment, and that was not something he wanted to explain before his date even started. Nope, nope; there were no metal feet following them around. La la la la...

Nope, Yu totally didn't just hear those footsteps, not at all...

...Oh, who are we kidding? Shepard's still trailing them, and that isn't going to change anytime soon.

No one made the metal sound angry before did they? So why was it sounding almost like their footsteps?

That...was getting a little freaky. Yukiko didn't want to announce it out loud because what if they just minding their own business and not doing what she thinks they could be? Instead, she moves closer to Yu, slightly looking from side to side. Now there was nerves going on.

Okay, yeah, this wasn't going to be good. He wasn't going to subject Yukiko to his fanboy side on a first date. Not only did he not want her to see that ~~ever~~ yet, but he didn't want to run the risk of her getting the wrong idea. He tightening his hold on her hand, quickening his pace.

Geez, it's almost as if he were afraid of looking back all of a sudden. Now she's really suspicious about what's going on here. Not that he seemed the type to do anything shady, but...this just sets off a number of alarms in her head.

So the metal footsteps just stop...but a voice comes from behind them in their stead.

"Alright, I can't keep quiet anymore--what are you up to?"

Wait, what?

Yu, did you do something to anger the nice lady? Because Yukiko has no idea who she is; just someone wearing metal.

"I'm sorry but have we met somewhere before?"

Yu let out a defeated sigh, finally pausing when Yukiko did. He turned to face Shepard, making a point to look at her face, and not all the cool armor and weaponry she was sporting.

"We're going to see a movie together," he explained, maybe putting a little extra emphasis on the "together".

...Well, fancy that. Her initial suspicions were right, and not the ones she had thanks to Yu's reluctance to look back.

It's tempting to play the terrible aunt, all of a sudden. Shepard approaches and circles the two, keeping a particular eye on Yukiko. Yu can probably notice that slight, amused smirk forming on her expression...

"Just the two of you? You're not bringing any other friends along?"

Why was this lady looking at her like that? It's making her feel pretty uncomfortable.

"No one else but us two."

Wait, please don't say that someone else is following them.

Yu let out a sigh; he had a feeling when he heard something on the steps before, but...

"...we're being followed, aren't we?"

"You were. At least, as far as I know."

She snerked a little. Considering that she was trailing them just now, it's something of a half-truth.

Half-truth?

"I don't see why someone is following us."

Besides someone with an active imagination? And here she was hoping for a nice evening out and crazy free.

"I can guess."

Yes, that was said in a total and complete deadpan. All he needed was for Rise to be following him around, dragging who knew how many people along with her. This was not going to end well.

"Shepard-san... is there any chance you can keep them off of us."

Well, let's be frank here--she wasn't really aware of the whole stalker thing considering where she was in the first place...and besides, it was them that caught her attention first, not the stalkers. Plus, she was talking about herself.

So yeah, talk about confusion...

So it just gets her tilting her head, a pinch befuddled.

"Wait, wha? Keep who off your back, exactly?"

"Wait, you think there's more?"

And today was going so well...

Yu took his attention off Shepard ~~and that awesome armor~~ for a moment, giving Yukiko a very serious look.

"...Rise just arrived."

...explained everything, really.

Of course.

"I understand now."

Strange that with just a few short words that someone can pick up all that is needed.

"I could use an explanation, you know."

Uh, guys, not a good idea to ignore the snarky soldier that's already crossing her arms...

Yu at least had the grace to look apologetic for asking something of her... and promptly ignoring her. Oops.

"A friend of ours from our world could be following us," he explained. She wouldn't... intentionally ruin our date, but..."

But the people that she drags along in her wake to STARE at them? Not to mention how... energetic Rise could get...

"Wait, you don't think she could bring others along do you?"

Oh gods no. Going red right now thank you.

Oh. Oh. She gets it now.

"So basically, you want me to be a bouncer for your date, so your friend won't try to bug you in the middle of it. Is that what you're saying?"

...She just brought up what they were up to. INCOMING MENTAL KEYSMASH???

Yu nodded, agreeing with the both of them. He reached down, giving Yukiko's hand a squeeze.

"Sorry to ask this of you when we hardly know each other," he said to Shepard. "But we could use the help right now."

"Any kind would be very much appreciated." the other teenager replied with a softer tone. Seriously Shepard, Yukiko will owe you big next time for doing this.
