Pool Witch
Who: Misery. Open, natch.
Where: Libra, 4th Floor Poolside
Summary: Beating the Heat. Which shouldn't be there in the first place.
Warnings: As usual, Misery is a warning in and of herself.
Notes: Takes place on 12/09/2012
Being an indoor pool meant that not even the change of seasons closed it down. In these bizarre weather circumstances, this is certainly a good thing -- for anybody who remembered, anyway.
Misery isn't swimming, mind. Not currently, anyway. No, she's sitting on a seat by the poolside, a glass of iced tea by her side, in a single piece swimsuit reading a book as casually as if it hadn't just previously been snowing a blizzard the day before. A little sand and sun and it'd be something right out of a beach photo, anyway -- aside from Misery's standard pasty white countenance, anyway.
Splash her at your own risk.

There is a sneeze from behind Misery and a small groan.
"Man, I think all this crazy weather is gonna make my sinuses explode. It's like something's trying to fight off the coming of winter."
That may have been a more perceptive observation than Atsuro meant it to be.

She doesn't even look back when she says this, instead turning the page on her book. Way to be concerned about the implications of your own statement, Misery.

Atsuro is not in a bathing suit, but he removes his shoes as he approaches the swimming pool so he doesn't track dirt all over the edges.
"What're you doing here? Just... taking some time off?"

Since his shoes are off anyway, Atsuro rolls up his pants legs and gingerly pokes at the pool.
"I guess I could pretend I was down in Australia. It's normal for this time of year, right?" ... "Hey what if this city is teleporting between the northern and southern hemispheres every day or something?"
Clearly this is the hypothesis that makes the most sense.

She pauses, looking over at him and raising an eyebrow. "Truly? All the possibilities and THAT'S the best you could come up with? Honestly, could you even imagine the sort of power that would take? Even *I* couldn't transfer an entire city over and over every night." She turns back to her book. "I think, perhaps, you might want to consider something a little more... local."

Atsuro grumbles slightly as he kicks his feet around in the water. "...Oh, hey. That actually reminds me - I was talking to someone with experience fighting demons the other day, and they told me to be on the lookout for item drops." A slight pause. "...Not in those terms, but that's what it boils down to. Apparently, the things here do leave... body parts and other bits lying around after they die."

She perks up at this. "Is that so? Well, that sounds intensely useful. I may have to start documenting some of these. Product research and all." She smiles slyly. "Hmm... perhaps I should start putting out some mild bounties while I'm at it."

"Thought you might be interested. They fought Shadows - the loot didn't stick around all the time, but sometimes, when the... shadow goo melted away, they left some paraphernalia behind."

......That brought a rather unpleasant image to mind.
((Sorry for the wait! This weekend was super hectic.))
