Summary: Anant goes to visit the 'new friend' they made, and ends up just bugging Kaito instead. People can bump into them before they reach the apartment though.
Warnings: You know the drill with Anant at this point. Prepare for sudden philosophical talks and other weirdness!

Anant was in a somewhat chipper mood as they prowled the hallways with a heavy plastic bag in their hands. They seemed to be moving in a rather erratic path, zigzagging along the hallway and spontaneously leaping into a little hop, or a skip, or a jump - it was, needless to say, very bizarre.

Anyone want to confront the obvious weirdo?

Anant jostled the bag slightly to one side as they lifted up their hand, tapping the door before them with one thin finger. Yes, this was the correct door. One floor below, one room behind. Their new friend lay behind here!

Of course, observations here told them that making friends usually required gifts of sort! That was what was told to them. 'This time of year gifts are given to friends'! It was rather perplexing why a certain time demanded gift giving, but far be it from them to question human customs! It was nice though. A show of appreciation to new friends! Anant would give Viridi a present as well but...

Well. They weren't sure if Viridi existed as something beyond a voice.

Nodding to themselves, Anant curled their fingers into fists and abruptly began pounding the door loudly and obnoxiously.

"They might. Or they might say what they think is true, even if it isn't. It's hard to measure selfishness against selflessness, especially when it comes to your own self. Very few people want to be accused of wanting too much, after all."

"I see!" Anant crowed, suddenly sounding jubilant. "Willing ignorance of one's self - or perhaps just plain ignorance! Even humans are confused and blind over their own natures!"

And now Hizumi's laughing at Anant's enthusiasm. "What, you thought we knew what we're doing? Most people just stumble through life." He brings a hand up, pointer finger in the air. "That's probably why one of the most popular stories to tell is a tale of self-discovery. It doesn't matter who the protagonist is; as long as the audience is reassured that someday they'll be able to understand themselves just like the hero, they eat it right up."

"Yes, yes. Self-discovery is an important part of humanity's growth. This I know, but I did not know of the sheer scope of it. To live in perpetual confusion and uncertainty over one's self - I cannot imagine it," Anant rubbed the bottom of their mask.

"To eternally crave for understanding, for enlightenment, ah, we are not so different after all. To think that humans can split their goals between self-understanding and their own personal dreams, or perhaps dreams are born from a desire to understand themselves? Or dreams are born from understanding themselves? Hrm..."

"Don't forget greed," Hizumi quickly adds. "One of the greatest downfalls of men, they say. The people who don't care who they are, only what they have. Or... I suppose the people who don't know who they are and look for material items to fill the void instead? There's too many types to list."

"Oh, yes, I forgot about the cardinal sins I- ah, this is confusing," Anant complained, their hands rubbing through their hair in agitation. "So many reasons! So many differences! Sometimes I have no idea how I am going to understand these creatures..."

"Well, you're immersed in our culture. Even if you weren't trying to, you're bound to pick up a few things."

"You may just have to settle for never reaching a complete understanding, but... I doubt there are many who ever could!"

"But I wish for full understanding..." Anant grumbled, and they actually sounded grumpy - in a rather childish way. "Not semi- or half."

"That might be difficult... Ah, but I guess I'm looking at it from a human standpoint. As far as most subjects are concerned, having a complete understanding of most topics is considered impossible."
