Who: This Priestess and YOU!

Summary: Yukiko's been feeling off lately: she can't stand being in any type of cold but feels fine in the warmer parts of the city! What the hell is going on?
Warnings: The random thought of wanting to go into an oven count?

[The past few days seemed to be a little...off for Yukiko. Right around the same time when the weather was at its weirdest, her body started to react. Like when she was dressed in her warm clothing expecting to be snow on the ground but stepped out to see that it was bright and sunny. What was stranger was that she felt fine wearing all those layers. The exact opposite happened when she tried to go to work with lots of snow around. Yukiko just couldn't bare to step in the cold stuff and she didn't know why. Even Amaterasu was wondering what was going on.

So despite the weirdness (and singing people), Yukiko is going to go about her day like normal.

Except maybe want to jump in an oven at one point.

Who knows, someone might run into her on the way to her job, over to Mays, or even at the park.]

A spiky-haired man out in the park is looking around, staring in disbelief at... SOMETHING. You're not sure what, exactly, since he seems to just be staring out into empty space.

(Actually, he's watching a series of ghosts going into a full on dance routine for the song For What It's Worth. What do you mean, you can't see it? It's impressive as hell! They're doing backflips! Oh, whatever.)

"This... is a really weird day," he mutters.

[Off indeed, and though she hasn't had any issue with hot or cold, there has been this desire to sing when she thinks she's alone. Today was no exception, even though it was a little cold-]

-cannot separate...part of me, and though you're...trust the unseen...

[Wait, is she on fire? Maybe that's why she's still warm as she seems to be wandering to a store for things she needs this week.]

Brr... It's cold, today.

On her way to work, Yukiko just might find her friend arguing with her own Persona and wearing an impressively still-color-coordinated number of layered sweaters and cardigans.

"Listen, I'm getting tired of having to take clothes on and off every time I walk a block. Do you know anything about this?" Rise demands of the Jack Frost floating in front of her. Which, of course, does not respond in any meaningful way.

"Right...part of my subconscious, can't give any new information." She sighed. "I guess I should go find an actual demon..."

Is...that man alright? Why is he looking off into space like that?

At least it's warm over here and Yukiko can walk over and wonder what the hell is going on.

"Excuse me, sir? Is everything ok?"

He jumps. "Agh! Ah, just fine, I guess... actually, you know what, I'm not even bullshitting this one. You've gotta see this."

[And on one street where it is warm because ew snow, Yukiko notices Aqua and...

Wait.

The lady's on fire.

Oh god.

...why does she want to touch it all of a sudden?]

Wait, it's cold over there. That's really bad for Yukiko right now since somehow she has a sudden fear of anything snow and freezing. But Rise looks ready upset and that Jack Frost isn't helping matters. It's too close to use the COMP but how else was she going to ask what was going on?

Obvious answer: call out to her from the line between warm and flipping freezing.

"Rise-chan? Is everything ok?"

"See something?"

Just what was so interesting? So naturally, Yukiko nods and decides to try and take a look.

"Okay, look, just... this is probably kind of frivolous since I can really only do this once a day at best, but... well, just look at it!"

He holds up his pendant focusing carefully. There might be a hint of a glow, and suddenly, all around them, Yukiko can see spirits.

...right at the moment they stop and go about their regular lives.

"YOU BUNCH OF MICHIGAN J. FROGS!" Nick yells, shaking his fist and subsequently losing the effect.

[And she seems completely unphased by the fact she is on fire! Weird, huh. Though she blinks once, curious because she saw a certain someone as she was about to turn the corner.]

...Are you alright?

[wait shouldn't she be asked that because yeah, the fire. it is a thing.]

Rise looks at her feet and the foot of snow her boots are in. Then she looks up and over at the clear, sunshiney patch Yukiko is standing in.

"I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there's something wrong here, Senpai," she called back, walking over towards Yukiko. "I mean, magical weather was a bad thing before, right? And the temperature changes are gonna make people sick if they keep up..."

I...I think that's what I'm supposed to be asking.

[Because you know. Lady on fire.]

"You mean no one has been getting sick yet from it?"

Wait, was this something happening to other people as well? Hmm, maybe Yukiko should ask the idol and see if her hunch is right.

"Have you been feeling strange in certain parts of the city?"

Hm? [A beat... oooooooooooooooooh.] Oh, you mean this?

[She lifts up her hand. Oh right, Firestorm.]

It's a spell I know from home that helps me stay warm and amplifies fire skills. It doesn't really burn me, though.

It only takes a moment for Yukiko to see them. And they were just moving around like normal people (or as normal spirits can be). She shouldn't be surprised since this city ran on the idea of demons and personae.

But what did surprise her was the 'swear'. So much in fact that she started to giggle!

Wow, that's really impressive! How long did it take you to learn to do it?

[Without a doubt years possibly.]

After basic fire spells?

[And How Not To Burn Yourself With It 101?]

...Six or seven months, though perfecting it took even longer.

[Go ahead and try and touch it if you want. No burning will be A Thing.]

He grumbles. Without the focus, things quickly revert to normal; only HE can see them now. "They were doing this whole song and dance maneuver. You totally believe me, right?"

She walked up to the edge of the snowy area to talk to Yukiko. "Well...it's annoying going between summer and winter every ten steps, but I don't know about feeling strange..."

"Of-" Snerk. "course! I did see them after all!"

But she's having a problem: not being able to control her laughter.

"Pffffttt! Michigan J Frogs!"

So she's fine? One thing's for certain: Rise, you are so lucky.

"Well...I ask because I've been feeling like that. Whenever I'm near anything cold, I just want to get away from it while wearing layers of clothes in the heat doesn't bother me."

"What? It's appropriate! I swear they stopped right at that moment on PURPOSE." He sighs. "Still, whatever's going on lately must really be something if the ghosts are in on it. Either that or they're just playing into it." He shakes his head. "Unbelievable."

He looks a little indignant.

"Huh. That's weird," Rise said, performing her most vital function as a support Persona user. "I figured you'd be burning up in a coat on that side."

Yukiko shakes her head. "I thought so too but it's like nothing is wrong when it's sunny and like I want to go under so many blankets when I step in snow."

Hence why she's eyeballing that snow line.

"Hmmm..."

She stopped to think about that for a second. "This must be something extra on top of the weather, then. I wonder why it's affecting you...want me to have a look with Kanzeon and see if you're...I dunno, Enervated or something? I never did figure out what 'enervated' meant..."

"I...don't think I've been feeling drained but if you two can figure it out, I don't mind."

Poor Rise, you need to study more.

More like retain the notes she copies from Naoto better.

"Alright, let me take a look..." Rise concentrated, and her Persona appeared behind her in its usual position.

"Let's see...no weird effects, you've still got Amaterasu, she's still weak to..."

Wait a second.

"Hey, do you think it's because you're weak to Ice?"

She should try and calm the man down after she can stop laughing at the name more. Now that she thought about it...

"Were you referring to everyone suddenly singing? I have heard some people have been doing it."

Including herself.

It sounds logical but that leaves out some big holes. Like when she would walk in snow before and feel like everyone else: freezing but not affected.

"It could be but I was having a snowball fight with Yosuke-kun a few days ago. Now it's almost like I don't want to touch anything that's cold."

"Hm...there must be something else, then," she said, "something I can't see with my Persona. Jeez, where's Naoto-kun when you need her?"

He nods. "Yeah, I found myself doing it too in the shower. Which wouldn't be so weird except I also did it heading out the door... and opening the office... and buying coffee..." He furrows his brow. "On the plus side, the last time it happened I got enough money in tips to buy lunch." He looks embarrassed.

Aww, don't feel that way. There's always a plus side!

"That just means you have a good voice."

See, someone is trying to cheer you up.

It's still a really big feat I bet.

[...nope, still want to touch.]

"Now that you mention it, I haven't seen her around lately. I hope everything is alright."

If Naoto was missing, would she end up like Chie and go home?

[She nods faintly.]

Mm. It is. [Shh it's okay Yukiko you can touch iiiiit. :c Better hurry before it wears oooooff.]
