Who: The Investigation Team and Nanako plus one death goddess.
Where: Yu and Nanako's apartment.
Summary: The IT celebrates Christmas together away from home... more or less.
Warnings: Yu trying to keep up his mission to bring a Green Christmas to Hinoto-ri. Horrible singing. lulz

It was a bit rushed and last minute -- and most of the work had to be done by other people because a certain grey haired leader was currently acting like an idiot -- but the apartment that Yu and Nanako shared was currently decked out for the winter holiday. Streamers hung around door frames and windows, and someone had even managed to bring in a little fake pine tree to be decorated.

There's also food, of course, though how good it is depends greatly on who cooked it. Taste with care, least you end up poisoned on Christmas.

It might not seem very festive at the moment, especially considering the current state (and presence) of certain individuals... but that will change at midnight at least.

"Ooh, is that hot chocolate, Senpai?" Rise asked, appearing at someone's shoulder as she is wont to do in crowded rooms. "It looks good already."

Yukiko nodded and smiled at her. "Yes, I found a recipe for it not too long ago. I wanted to try it out and make something special for everyone tonight."

"That's cool!"

She paused and thought for a moment. "Hey, did you know that the original way people served chocolate was a hot drink like this? Except they put chili pepper in it, too, I think. I always wanted to try it spicy like that..."

But...it doesn't call for chili powder. Won't that be really bad to go against the peppermint? And will everyone else faint from it?

...ok, only Rise will get the chili peppermint drink then. Everyone else can have the normal one.

"Why don't I get you a mug then?"

And she goes away from the stove to get said item. ~~DO IT NOW RISE BEFORE SHE COMES BACK.~~

The best thing about small apartments is that the back of the pantry is within easy arm's reach even from here...

It's too bad there was only some red curry powder handy, or so Rise thought as she added it. Freshly chopped dried peppers would probably be a lot more authentic.

And the other girl is back with a mug and a ladle. Totally doesn't know that curry powder is in there at all as she puts some of the experimental drink in.

"Alright, you try it first."

"Uhhh...," Rise began, pattern recognition finally kicking in. What had happened when the two of them had cooked...

...on the other hand, when the team had actually worked together, the cake turned out alright...on the third try...

"Maybe Yosuke-senpai would like to try some!" she suggested, brightly.

...what tactic was this?

Obviously it was alright if Yukiko answered with:

"Hmm, good idea!"
