Who: The Investigation Team and Nanako plus one death goddess.
Where: Yu and Nanako's apartment.
Summary: The IT celebrates Christmas together away from home... more or less.
Warnings: Yu trying to keep up his mission to bring a Green Christmas to Hinoto-ri. Horrible singing. lulz

It was a bit rushed and last minute -- and most of the work had to be done by other people because a certain grey haired leader was currently acting like an idiot -- but the apartment that Yu and Nanako shared was currently decked out for the winter holiday. Streamers hung around door frames and windows, and someone had even managed to bring in a little fake pine tree to be decorated.

There's also food, of course, though how good it is depends greatly on who cooked it. Taste with care, least you end up poisoned on Christmas.

It might not seem very festive at the moment, especially considering the current state (and presence) of certain individuals... but that will change at midnight at least.

After getting permission from Rise and doing some private worrying and fidgeting over whether she'd be intruding on a private gathering, Nano had decided to force herself to get over her anxiety and come down to Yu's apartment with some snacks she'd baked. The wind-up robot is decked out in a festive Santa hat and is carrying a plate of chocolate chip cookies with her. There's also a cupcake sitting in the middle, frosted on top to look like Rise's face.

"Um, excuse me...? It's Nano Shinonome. Kujikawa-san invited me. I won't disturb your party for long, I promise!"

Even though she'd gotten her courage up to do this, she still sounds rather unsure of herself and more than a little nervous about intruding. But that's just how Nano is around large groups of new people - she's just hoping that she doesn't make a bad first impression on these people.

Nano's here?

Yukiko turns to see the small robot girl coming in and smiles at her.

"Hello there Nano-chan! You're not disturbing anything at all!"

"Oh, Amagi-san...!" Nano smiles, looking a little surprised herself. "I didn't know you were friends with Kujikawa-san!"

"Yes, Rise-chan and I are from the same town and we've been friends for awhile."

Aww, Nano brought cookies. Everyone will love them! Just...don't go near that hot chocolate. Thanks Rise for putting in the chili powder.]

"I have a special cupcake for you too, but I couldn't find you earlier," Nano says, blushing in embarrassment. "I didn't know you would be here, or I would have brought it with me!"

Yukiko gives a small chuckle. "It's alright, you can give it to me later on if you want. I also have a present for you too back at my place."

"For me?" Nano seems genuinely surprised, but also thankful. "Thank you, Amagi-san!" She smiles brightly, bowing her head.

Nano is a friend and friends get presents: that's Yukiko's logic anyway.

"You're welcome. And you can call me Yukiko if you want to." she adds in. She expects adults to say something like that to her, not a friend.

Nano blushes happily, nodding.

"All right, Yukiko-san!"

Whoa, hey, this girl was unusual... did she have a wind-up key in her back? But she has snacks, that's awesome!

"Hey, if Rise-chan invited you, then you're totally welcome!" She did arrange the whole thing after all. "We've got plenty of food and stuff. I'm Hanamura Yosuke."

That is indeed a wind-up key in her back, but Nano herself seems to be paying it no mind - at least for the moment. And yes, snacks! She would much rather everyone pay attention to those instead.

"Thank you, Hanamura-san! Please help yourself."

He wonders if she needs to wind it regularly..... well it certainly wouldn't be the weirdest thing he's seen in this city. And among the people in the apartment right now... she's honestly one of the most normal.

"I can take 'em and set them over on the table if you want." Yosuke holds out his hands for the tray. "It's nice to meet you, Shinonome-chan."

As a matter of fact, the key has nothing whatsoever to do with Nano's continued function. Like all of her attachments, it's just there because it's cute and funny.

"Oh, thank you!" Nano replies, smiling and handing him the tray. "It's nice to meet you too."

She certainly seems like a cute and funny person!

Yosuke takes the tray carefully, balancing it on his hands before he brings it over to the table with the other food. "How did you meet Rise-chan by the way?"

She certainly has both qualities in spades, especially if you're the sort of person who enjoys watching someone who is easily panicked freak out about something. Her roommates back home sure seem to get a kick out of it, anyway.

"Oh! We met the day she arrived in the city. I responded to her first message."

"Oh, cool~ Well this is the rest of the team here, we're all part of what we dubbed the Investigation Team, we all came from the same world. Our leader is the miserable one on the couch over there with his hands tied behind his back."

Yosuke motions to the still struggling Yu, who was being watched like a hawk.

"He's not really himself right now."

Nano glances over, her face immediately adopting a look of concern.

"...Is he going to be all right?"

"Eventually, I guess. He's been kinda brainwashed by the Pyro Jacks, so he's a little nuts right now. But he's harmless, really. We just can't untie him or else he'll try jumping out a window again."

As funny as this sounds, Yosuke actually looks kind of upset that his best friend is all jacked up in the head like that.

"Brainwashed?"

That doesn't sound good at all! Nano looks worried, but apparently things are already under control...?

"I hope he feels better soon..."

"We're taking care of it. It should wear off at midnight, apparently. If it doesn't, we've got someone who can fix it during the Thirteenth Hour." Though to be honest he'd rather not rely on her for this kind of stuff... Ugh.

"I'll try to properly introduce you when he's actually himself sometime. He's a pretty cool guy usually."

"All right."

Nano nods, her expression softening back into a smile. She's loosening up a bit in general, having been quite nervous when she walked in. But everyone here seems friendly, and no one has asked her about her key.

"Well then, please help yourself to some cookies."

[celebrity_commentator]

"Hey, Nano-chan! Merry Christmas!"

Rise greets her enthusiastically as usual, feeling like she's starting to get the hang of this hostess thing. "Ooh, that looks good! Is that..."

Her face? That's oddly not creepy. "Cute!"

"I'm glad you like it!"

Nano has a big smile for Rise in return, happy that the cupcakes and cookies are going over well with everyone. She hands the tray off to Yosuke to set down and slips her shoes off at the door.

"May I come in?"

Polite as always, but that's just how she is.

"Please do!" she said. "Come on in and have some cocoa. We should have some cake sometime to, and...let's see...you know Yukiko-senpai, I guess, let me introduce you to the others..."

"All right! If you'll excuse me, then..."

With a polite bow of the head, she steps inside the apartment and takes a look around at the gathering.

"So many people!"
