Do You Really Need So Many Brands Of The Same Thing?
Who: Yamato Hotsuin and Miki Sanada
helenchanted
Where: Virgo Ward
When: Backdated to 28th Jan
Summary: Shopping. That's it. And Yamato's inability to do normal things.
Warnings: None.
Grocery shopping. It was an incredibly mundane activity that Yamato found ridiculously difficult for reasons unbeknownst to him. Perhaps managing money that went into the millions and billions made him unable to gauge value of things that went by only the hundreds or thousands of yen.
Wasn't there a condition relating to that in East Germany? Zero Stroke or something...
Well, that was only one half of the problem. He was also unsure on what to get. It was easy to compose a list of groceries in his mind - he needed 'milk', 'bread', 'etc' - but the shelves were stocked with hundred of variations of the same things, all in different ways. Reading the ingredients or the little information texts on the wrapping never really imparted much information on what made them so different, and he normally just got confused and simply grabbed whatever looked the best.
As such, he viewed grocery shopping as both boring and daunting.
That day, Yamato's greatest challenge was 'the bread'. Brown, white, malt, seeded, farmhouse, sliced, unsliced, some other variation here... Yamato just slowly looked down the entire aisle of bread and internally wished he could simply pay someone to shop for him. He would order his demons to shop for him but, demons were not good judges in human food...
