A constellation of tears on your lashes
Who: Sora [AU3], his cat and you!
Where: Pretty much anywhere
When: April 7th
Summary: There's a new arrival and he looks like a Sora
[Okay, he is not afraid to fully admit that he is completely and utterly lost. This place is huge for an F3 without any sign of the creepy fog that hangs out at the edges of the area that spit people back out and leave them feeling sick. His Faciliberry doesn't seem to be working either which must be the reason he's been given this other weird thing.]
[So if he can't call anyone then Sora figured he'd just have to find his friends. Which is exactly what he's been trying to do for well over an hour with absolutely no success as of yet. They have to be around here somewhere and he's determined to find them before night ends. Who knows what Val has in store for them this time around. Probably something terrible and there was always the chance that there would be monsters lurking around.]
[Anyone who sees him from afar may notice some differences from the Sora they know. First off, this one seems to be wearing an over-sized coat that looks a lot like Leon's over his own normal clothes. Also there's something orange that seems to be wiggling around in his hood. Watch long enough and a matching tail will pop up.]
[Up close even more changes are noticeable - his pale skin, thin features and most importantly, a black collar encircling his neck. And of course, it'd be hard to miss the scars along both of his arms -- one long and jagged, with the other covering a large area. Strangers might be drawn away from all that thanks to the protesting mewls coming from Sora's hood. Taking a peek inside will give someone a good view of an orange tabby cat with a purple ribbon around their neck. Don't get too close or the cat might bite though.]
[Those who aren't brave enough to get that close may hear Sora talking. To the cat. Well, more like responding to the cat as if he can understand what she says.]
Five more minutes?
[Protesting meows.]
I know you're hungry but we have to find them.
[An unhappy howl.]
Okay, okay. Let's go see if we can find something.
[After his conversation with the cat Sora turns to the nearest person, not quite looking up at them and keeping his distance seeing as how the people in F3s are generally the violent sort.]
Excuse me. Can you point the way to the nearest pet shop?

yes! :D
[It's Riku! A brilliant smile takes over his face but it quickly fades when Sora realizes the differences. Riku is tiny. Okay, not really all that tiny considering he himself has only grown a couple of inches. But shorter than Sora is used to. Not to mention there's the lack of a familiar collar and his arm... The Riku he knew, the clone Riku had lost his arm and replaced it with a metal one.]
[But still, the teenager standing in front of him is Riku. So Sora laughs, a bit nervously and scratches at his head.]
Oh well. Just some stuff. [He stinks at lying so going with avoidance.]
no subject
[In other words, his avoidance only serves to further Riku's curiosity. Granted, Kairi has a very similar collar, and he's already heard her story. The whole thing about Facility, clones, and the brutal treatment she and Naminé endured. It's possible that this Sora's a similar case, but why jump to conclusions?
Maybe prying isn't the best method either, but hey. It's hard not to at a time like this.]
no subject
[And not exactly one he wants to talk about. There are parts of the story that Sora doesn't want to relive at this point in time. Or maybe ever. Though there is something he can tell Riku.]
Short version is I was stuck in this place that was kinda bad.
[He's not sure what Kairi, Nami and the others have told people yet so he'll go vague for now.]
no subject
[That narrows things down a little bit, and it explains the collar. With Sora's vague illusion, Riku visibly relaxes and runs his fingers through his hair.]
You in the same boat as Kairi and Naminé? They've got collars just like yours.
no subject
[The girls obviously told him something about the Facility.]
I was there for a while. [An understatement. The cat in his hood lets out a mew and Sora grins.] Hey, you should meet Mittens.
[Reaches back into his hood to pull out the orange cat and hold her out.]
no subject
At first Riku stares at the cat, but hey. Even he can't resist something small, fluffy, and adorable for too long. His hand twitches, and soon he reaches tentatively for the kitty in question. Watch him attempt to keep a straight face the whole time, though.]
I take it you didn't just scoop that cat off the streets.
[He wouldn't put it past Sora, but judging by his treatment of her, it doesn't seem too likely.]
no subject
[That face is definitely too precious to ignore. Sora practically beams when not even bitty Riku can resist. Even if he is struggling to keep his normal expression.]
Nope! I got her when she was still a kitten. She even had some kittens of her own a while back. Six of them.
[This is a beloved creature, one that Sora seems rather proud of. Of course the information is kind of a hint to just how long he might have been stuck in the Facility, seeing as how Mittens is a full-grown cat.]
no subject
[Because imagining Sora trying to shuffle seven critters is kind of a scary image. This is the same kid who totally slacked off when it came to grabbing supplies for the raft.
But then, he is older now, so maybe things have changed.]
no subject
[He had three animals there for a while but that was between him and Riku both. At the end they had four cats, a dog and a little fuzzy thing. Sort of brings up the question of what happened to them.]
[Things have changed.]
no subject
[But then, he's only heard a little about the Facility in the first place. Maybe there was some silver lining.]
no subject
[Or maybe they just try to think optimistically about it because otherwise they would have gone insane.]
But Mittens is tough. She walked around like she owned the whole place.
no subject
[Probably why he likes 'em so much. They're funny little buggers.]
no subject
[Mittens is just a stubborn thing. Always has been since Sora adopted her.]
no subject
[Why yes, he just compared Sora to a dog.]
no subject
If I'm like a dog then you're definitely like a cat.
no subject
[He shakes his head. Sorry, Sora, but your little raspberry was not very effective...]
no subject
You would. [Pauses for a moment.] So uh, I guess it might be weird but I gotta ask... What's the last thing you remember?
no subject
[He figures it's in this Sora's past... Everyone else seems to be ahead of him, after all. Just pardon his sour expression. The time differences are a bit frustrating.]
no subject
[Oh. This Riku was really young. The surprise is evident on his face. Obviously he'd been from before Sora fell asleep in Castle Oblivion - or from before his year of sleep, at least but way back then?]
That was a long time ago.
no subject
[He rubs at his brow and grumbles under his breath. It's awkward being so far behind on the times. Almost makes him wish he did know more.]
For me, it was a few months tops. I don't even know half of what happens to me later.
no subject
[He wonders if no one wants to tell him.]
Well, we traveled lots! And saved the worlds and ours too!
no subject
[Yeah, his eyes might've bulged a little at that statement. It's a bit jarring to consider.]
But if we traveled and saved the world, then it sounds like we got the journey we always wanted. Who am I to complain?
