[mostly open] friday's partings
Who: The entire Devil Survivor 2 cast, as well as Alcor (AU) and you!
Where: Around Sagittarius Ward.
When: April 26th, at various times (but namely the 13th Hour).
Summary: It all started with a kidnapping and a few crazy cast members before it got completely out of hand, involving even those who never wanted to be.
Warnings: Violence, injuries, and possible property damage.
When the 13th Hour struck, sheer chaos unfolded. Frankly, everything was in chaos already, but that just added to it even moreso. And in the midst of this whirlwind of confusion and frenzy were a couple of individualswho were unfortunate enough to bump into each other during this time, while under the influence of the Taurus event.
It started out simple. Well, as simple as one could get in this situation. Io was just going to kidnap Kaito (being possessive of anything that held value, nothing big), and the Hotsuin twins had a scuffle, but the twins of them happened to come across the aforementioned kidnapping, which certainly didn't go well with either of them. And when Io Nitta came under the threat of harm, a certain overprotectivewatchdog Septentrione with his (somewhat) protective characteristics kicked into overdrive didn't take that too well either. Not that he had a choice. A tool has no free will, after all.
So, due to the effects of the Zodiac event, not only is Alcor compelled to cause havoc to add to the general mayhem of the city (with his 3 demons milling out and about as well), the complete opposite of how extremely passive and obedient he was before, he's also very strongly compelled to protect Io Nitta, who was under attack by the twins, at all costs...which is driving him to try to destroy anything that could be labelled as a threat to her as well. (Just in case the bull horns on his head didn't already give it away that he was one of them.)
Even other Visitors.
So when that building near you is hit by a Mazandyne, don't take it too personally. If there's a spell flung in your direction, don't take that too personally either. And if you come across those two light-haired twins who are fighting the culprit of this particular mess and look like they're fighting a losing battle instead, will you help them or not? No matter what, tread carefully; a sword of the absolute is not to be taken lightly.
[ooc: While some of the threads in this log will be closed between certain people, as a sort of catch-all post, you're certainly free to just tag in/start new threads in this post and have your character(s) run into Alcor and try to stop the rampaging Septentrione! Here is a list of his abilities (scroll down to Canon Powers), and don't worry about defeating him! That'll be dealt with, in the end. Also, please let me know how severely he can injure your character, if given the opportunity.]

[closed] daichi & yamato
He was pretty sure the 13th Hour was close to ending-- at lesat he hoped so. The firetruck was still in tact (so Q hopefully wouldn't string him up over it), though it had seen better days, so it was currently parked on the side of the road. The others had gone off on their own, so Daichi figured the truck could probably use a rest. At least it didn't end up like the one he crashed into Dubhe.
And so, after a ridiculous hour that seemed like it was running for a week, Daichi had taken a seat on the edge of the sidewalk, an arm propped up on his knee and leaning his head on his open hand, as he let out an exasperated groan.
Goddamn, he was tired.

Without really explaining himself, Daichi was swiftly joined by Yamato sitting down heavily beside him on the pavement, the man still dripping with water, his hair flattened from moisture. He didn't say anything at first, just staring at the carnage left behind from his battle with, well, everyone, it felt like. Alcor and Miyako were two opponents he didn't particularly want to go toe to toe with by himself ever again. Several organs felt like they'd been liquidised from having the shit kicked out of him.
"Your arrival was very timely," Yamato began, "If you had been a moment later, I think I would be dead right now."
no subject
And uh... try not to laugh at how soaked the guy looked. It was kind of his fault but it was still kind of funny-- ok no right, focus.
"Heh, no problem...! I guess I'm just lucky I got the idea in the first place-- uh, and that Saiduq didn't kick my ass I suppose." Because that was definitely a distinctly real possibility. "Still, I'm glad you guys are OK and everything."
no subject
He rubbed the back of his neck then, tilting his head to the side until something popped loudly, a quiet grunt leaving him. Everything was popping and cracking loudly. He felt like he'd aged several decades in the span of that one, single fight. Heh, well, having Alcor as an opponent certainly shaved off several years of his life.
"...why did you steal a fire truck, anyway?" Yamato finally asked, turning his head to stare at the vehicle.
no subject
Actually that sounded kind of gross.
The question of the firetruck makes him stop a moment, as if thinking about how to answer that exactly, and then... gave a grin as he lowered his arm and learned back on his hands.
"It was my friend's idea! Before I ended up out here, I met this guy named Eikichi, who has a Persona that uses water attacks-- he tried attack one of those weird bull monsters that showed up, and it did way more damage than any of our other attacks. We figured that the monsters must have been week to water or something, so we took a firetruck from Leo District so we could get access to the fire hydrants!"
Give him a few minutes after the 13th Hour and he'll realize that this was a really stupid idea, but right now he was pretty damn proud of himself.
"Since I've been working at Caduceus, I knew where they kept the keys, so we snuck in and borrowed one."
no subject
"My, you surprise me, Shijima...it seems you managed to find some confidence during your adventures," Yamato smiled thinly, "Can't say I dislike it."
no subject
"Well, I couldn't just sit around and do nothing, at least this time! The whole city was in trouble after all, and people were getting hurt! I'm amazed it ended up working out so well."
no subject
Yamato studied Daichi for a moment longer before deciding that it was probably some weirdness left over from the 13th Hour. Miyako acted differently, Fumi and Kaito did as well - Alcor definitely did... it was safe to presume that Daichi himself got a strange courage boost through the event. That, or he finally fell so far into anxiousness he overshot it and landed squarely in fearlessness.
In any case, it didn't seem dangerous like Miyako or Alcor.
"You continue to amaze me, Shijima... even though at a glance you seem like a useless waste of space, you do come through in dire situations. You're more reliable than some of my subordinates put together."
no subject
"S-Still.. It's not like I exactly have same training as all your JP's guys did-- I just kind of wing it most of the time. It seems to work, so I guess I'm glad to be useful! Not much to be impressed over.
"Besides, you were the one that was trying to save Kaito and managed to hold your own against Saiduq. So I kinda owe you too."
no subject
He suddenly turned a little, prodding Daichi firmly on the forehead. "So don't be so modest. Although humility is an admirable trait to possess, a bit of arrogance would do you well, Daichi."
no subject
"No way, then I'll end up like one of those jerks that walk around Shibuya with dyed, slicked back hair and wear wei--"
Hey wait a minute.
"Did... you just called me 'Daichi'?"
no subject
no subject
He laughed awkward and shrugged his shoulders slightly, let's just, pretend he didn't start speaking like an idiot just now.
"I've just-- never heard you actually call me that before"
no subject
Of course, there were exceptions; if Daichi had been an official employee of JP's, then Yamato would never use his first name since it would be inappropriate. However as he wasn't... well, free game.
no subject
It was kind of weird, but he basically looks like he just hit the jackpot.
"Uh-- I mean, yeah! I guess so!" Actually he'd never heard of it going like that, but he was still grinning pretty broadly. Never would he think he'd see the day where he got an actual acknowledgement of respect from Yamato goddamn Hotsuin.
"So does that mean we're actually friends now?"
no subject
"Perhaps 'close acquaintances' would be a better term."
no subject
"'Close acquaintances' it is, then. I think I can deal with that."
no subject
He slowly climbed to his feet, rubbing the back of his neck with a grimace. "After this sort of eventful night..." he muttered to himself, dropping his hand. "Daichi, are you hungry?"
no subject
"Aaaugh, are you kidding! I'm starving...!" He brought his hands back to clutch his stomach as he groaned. OK, he may have been being a bit overdramatic here. But still, getting kidnapped and being firetruck vigilantes really took a lot out of you!

"Haha, you got it! There's all sorts of great places in Virgo, I'm sure they're still up and running!"
