[CLOSED] Attempted Apology
Who: Kazuya Minegishi (
belfire) and Johnny Rayflo (
not_heavens_adam)
Where: Block away from DeDeDe's Club
When: Past midnight, 5th May
Warnings: Mentions of dismemberment/gore/violence
Summary: Kazuya finally sucks it up and apologises for gutting Johnny during the Taurus event.
Alright, it was bordering on a fortnight since the Taurus Event, and Kazuya was feeling like a weirdo stalker. Night in, night out, he would slink to DeDeDe's Bar (after finishing up his punishment of community service with the government - they didn't appreciate him trying to whip the demons up into a frenzy, unfortunately), and hover in the shadows like some deviant. Well, he was meant to keep a low profile anyway, being a bouncer, but this was outright hiding - mostly because Johnny frequented the bar often.
Yeah... Johnny...
Kazuya didn't feel too bad about fighting against Otoha or Desco. They had leapt at him fists swinging, and they weren't too badly damaged by the fight anyway. Johnny however - ah, his memories during the 13th Hour was foggy at best, but he remembered Johnny trying to talk him down, being the peacekeeper, only for Kazuya to rip out his guts. The guy got him back by ripping off his arm but still... Kazuya felt guilty about it. He was an asshole, but not a psycho asshole. Which meant he would have to apologise for it.
So after much stalking, and watching Johnny in the bar for nights on end, Kazuya finally made his move. When the vampire left the bar, Kazuya slinked out himself (hey he'd be back in ten minutes or so Big D won't notice), following the man until they were a street away. It was then that he took a deep breath and quickened his strides, moving into a swift jog.
"Uh-! Hey!"

"Uh-! Hey!"

It didn't last long, but a big smile was still left behind in the wake of the laughter. At least it was an honest smile. "Aaaah! You're cute when you're like that." The size of his smile faded a tad and he shoved his hands into his pockets. "Don't worry about it, you aren't the first person to have done that, and those other times were worse." Barry had been nothing short of brutal with Belial's desires mixing with his own.
His smile faded almost completely as he got a little more serious; he didn't want to be seen as insincere. "And I apologize for tearing off your arm. I'd hoped such drastic measures wouldn't be necessary. If it still huts, I could have a look at it, if you'd like, I might be able to do something for it."

And that was okay. He understood where they were coming from. But man did he get sick of it sometimes. Having something like this go his way for once was great.
"Nah, that's fine. It still works and shit, see?" Kazuya rotated his arm, lifting it up and down to show that it had full mobility. "It's just a bit achy, like I pulled something. I'm probably just not used to it, since I've only had my arm ripped off like, once before. Haha..."
He chuckled a bit awkwardly, and rubbed the back of his neck. After a bit of a pause, he looked up at Johnny, although it seemed his eyes were slowly bleeding back into red.
"So, if you don't mind me asking... my memories are sort of foggy, but I remember you calling me Katsu and acting like you knew me. Um, have I met you somewhere before?"
no subject
"Sort of. I was in a different city before this one and I guess I met a different version of you. Mm...I know it might seem a little impossible, especially since you two have different names, but everything about the demons, er, Bels seems the same, and the stuff about Abel.."
That had always been a little more touchy for Johnny. He'd cared about Katsu a lot, and he'd always tried not to think about the irony of Hell's version of Adam thinking of 'Abel' as a son. Really, they just didn't talk about that part, so it had been easy enough to brush aside most of the time.

"Other me was pretty chatty, if he told you all that lame crap," Kazuya said dismissively, settling one hand on his hip, the other waving the air vaguely. "Were you friends with him- wait. Important question... was he King of Bel?"
no subject
"Yeah, he was. He said he was the messiah as well. I imagine that was a bit of a challenge and made some people mad, but I'm sure he managed." Katsu had been strong and Johnny could only hope he'd gone home and dealt with whatever problems were left for him. "...is that what's different between you?" Because there was obviously something.
no subject
"Yeah. Major difference there," Kazuya grunted. He seemed to get over his horrible surprise though, digging the toe of his shoe into the ground with a small frown. "I'm not the Messiah. I'd rather eat glass than work with Him. He's such a self-righteous prick."
He kicked a small rock by his foot, and glared at it hatefully as it skittered across the road.

However...on some level, he could see why someone might hate God, why people like him often hated God. It was because of God that he couldn't walk in the light with the people he loved, He was why holy water would burn if it ever entered his bloodstream and why silver was like a solid acid to his skin. God was why he couldn't recite from the Bible he put in such high regard.
His smile is soft and just this side of fake with an edge of very real self-deprecation. "I'll have to take your word for it, I've never met Him, myself, and I highly doubt I ever will." Vampires didn't get to go to Heaven, no matter how much respect they had for it's lord.

The earlier hate and anger was gone. He was just kicking at the floor now, his eyes tracking invisible marks on the pavement before he abruptly stopped with a small sigh. "Urgh, look, I didn't mean to dump that on you. Sorry if I offended you."
no subject
"Nah, you'd have to try a lot harder to do that, so don't worry about it. And...trust me, I don't mind the dumping bit."
no subject
Kazuya swatted at Johnny's hands before pulling back, flattening his hair with a low grumble. He hated people ruffling his hair damn it. He was an Overlord! People don't ruffle Overlord hair!
"Hmph," Kazuya dropped his hands and mirrored Johnny's movements, planting his hands on his hips and leaning forwards slightly. "Well, I don't make it a habit, so don't expect anymore from me."
He straightened up, looking away with a quiet 'tch'. "'Nyway, I'm different to your Katsu, so don't expect to me to substitute him or whatever."
no subject
"Mmm...just don't expect that I'll ignore you, either. You may not be him, but that doesn't mean I can't care for you too." Even if it was just from the shadows or on occasion. He got the feeling this one was a little too proud for fatherly affections.

Kazuya's cheeks turned a faint pink, and he crossed his arms as he tried to maintain an unaffected facade - it didn't work very well, since he was obviously a little flustered by Johnny's words.
no subject
"Those words aren't so bad, are they? Or are you just too busy blushing to think about anything else?" Troll troll troll.

And Kazuya's pride rears its ugly head.
