Where: Anywhere you like, she's lost so it doesn't matter.
When: After dark
Warnings: Possible injury and I do not have nearly enough appropriate icons for this.
Summary: Akane received a curse from the fortune teller at the cherry blossom festival. For the next few days, demons will chase her at night. Even if her persona appears to help her, it may not be enough...


[She's running through the streets as fast as she can go, looking desperately for a place to hide. Originally, she'd been heading back to the apartment building, but she got turned around somewhere and now she's a little lost.

Okay, completely lost. And only just barely staying ahead of the things chasing her. She can't resist a panicked glance behind her just as she turns a corner and SMACK!

Sorry, she did not see you there. Luckily she's small, so she felt the impact more than you. But now she's scrambling to her feet and giving you a desperate look.]

Th- they're after me!

That is not a problem, mortal. [ The 8 foot tall giant in armor racks his massive cannon of a gun, and takes up a firing position. ]

Get into cover, I'll take care of this.

B- but-!

[She doesn't get any farther than that when a roar is heard and a large creature comes careening around the corner.]

[ Loken's bolter coughs out a 3 round burst of explosive mass-reactive death towards it. ]

You shall not have her!

This will be such a short fight. ^^;

EEEK!

[Akane covers her ears and screams. The bullets tear into the wendigo as it roars in pain and refocuses it's attack at Garviel. Ice Dance, think fast.]

[ Garviel is frozen solid, his armor screaming temperature warnings, then he exerts the servomotors and his own muscles, and rushes towards the wendigo, chainsword screaming a frenetic song of death as he tries to cut it down ]

DIE!

[This ill-fated wendigo was not prepared to deal with something like Garviel. That chainsaw devastates it. The result is messy, but effective. Akane hides her face at the sight of it's blood.

After it stops moving, she whispers quietly, without even opening her eyes.]

Is.... is it dead?

[ He fires a last bolt round into the skull, just to be sure. ]

Yes. You are safe.

[doesasordered]

Akane? [You happened to run into your boss! How lucky. Nikolai grabs her by the shoulders to steady her. He immediately starts scanning the area for whatever "they" might be. his voice is dark.] Who is.

They are!

[She points behind her just in time for three nasty monsters to turn the corner.]

[Grimacing, Nikolai steps forward and pushes Akane behind him with one hand as he draws a pistol from his jacket with the other.]

Stay behind me. Cover your ears. [And with that, he opens fire on them. No hesitation.]

[She covers her ears just in time to avoid being deafened by those shots. The kobolds scatter, two of them injured badly, the third only escaping by employing his buddies as shields.

The first two are attacking desperately, both using Snipe and targeting the guy with the gun.]

[Nik takes the hits with a grimace, but he manages to keep them from hitting Akane, and the damage isn't too bad. But they've got nothing on the seasoned gunman who continues to fire on them. If that doesn't work, he's got a fire-based Persona with their name on it.]

Do you mind if I escalate this a little as an excuse to bring out her persona?

[While he's making holes in the first two, that clever third one is using Aggravate. But before it attacks, it speaks to him in a growly voice.]

Leave, human! We want girl!

[And then it attacks.]

go for it!

You're not getting her. [Nikolai glares it down with a chilling glare. He's not about to let a little girl take the hit, so he stands his ground to take the hit. It's really going to hurt him though. He figures it's about time for him to call his Persona.]

You run into a Dante, who isn't frowning at you but at the mention of 'they'. He has a wild guess but it might be best to check it out first, "Who?"

"D- demons! They keep chasing me!"

A crash from behind her has her suddenly whipping her head around just in time to see a rather large monster wielding a club. It pauses for just a moment, eyes locking in on the girl, before it swings.

Aha, just what he thought. He's about to say something when he hears the crash.

He looks at the demon who made it and damn, is it an ugly demon. Oh well, he's seen a lot worst. He begins to pull out his sword and, right before the club is about the impact, he blocks it with his sword. "Man, you're an ugly bastard, aren't ya?" He forces the demon away.

Gotta wonder what made the girl famous among demons though. "So, what happened?" He'll ask Akane. Bad time to ask questions but there doesn't seem to be any other decent time, either.

"I- I don't know!"

The ogre is growling, trying to find a way past this new obstacle. Akane is still backing away, frightened.

"They just keep chasing me! It never happened before!"

Impatiently, the ogre roars, deciding that brute force is the way to go. It tries to shove him aside, attempting to get to it's intended prey.

[Well, well. Someone got a similar curse, though he's limited to only monsters from his own world. He's managed to avoid them so far tonight, though he knows if any are out there they'll be after him soon enough. His head has a rather large bandanna tied around it tightly, but fluffy tufts of hair still defiantly stick up around and under it.]

Ah... miss, are you all right?

No! They're still coming!

[As she scrambles to her feet, she casts a frightened look behind her. Sure enough, two strange little creatures bearing pitchforks come around the corner after her.]

[He doesn't have weapons, though he has what magic he's taught himself and his Persona. He moves over to her quickly, standing next to her.]

We can fight together. Or I can try to distract them long enough for you to get away from them.

[She glances between him and the demons in surprise.]

What? I can't just leave you here alone! That's too dangerous!

[Not that she's entirely sure she could help. They're out of time to plan though. The pair of demons will be close enough to attack in a few seconds.]

Things are only dangerous if you let them be. We can be in control of the moment if we take charge.

[He drops into a loose preparatory stance, trying to think about everything he's figured out about his persona and what might be useful]

Do you know anything about these creatures?

R- right!

[She could do this. She could do this. Demons had been chasing her around for a couple of nights now, and she's already managed to summon her persona once. She can do it again. She hopes.]

I don't know anything about them! They just keep chasing me!

[The demons are finally close enough, aiming to skewer them with pitchforks.]

[There's no time to try to find anything about them, so he goes with his first instinct... concentrating quicky, before throwing down a few fixed points of power and raising up a few pillars of flame to act as a makeshift barrier.]

Do you have any fighting experience?

[He doesn't, really, but he's more than willing to pretend for the sake of bolstering confidence.]
