Summary: Akane has agreed to help a newbie get their persona, so it's time to aggro some demons in the park.
Warnings: Demon fighting, action brackets because I'm lazy



[Akane arrives early, toting along her modified stun gun, and a backpack because she's heard demons leave behind money or items sometimes. It never hurts to be prepared. She's trying hard to look nonchalant but she's still a little nervous. Hopefully they won't encounter anything too strong. She finds a bench near the entrance to the park and sits down to wait.]

[Judas appears, carrying... a staff. Well, at least he has something to hit monsters with. And it's a pretty hefty one for his weak body, too.]

[She glances up at the staff.]

Wow, can you really fight with that?

[She's hardly had any actual fight training at all, so staff fighting sounds pretty impressive. And he doesn't really look much like a fighter.]

[silvercoins]

No. But I can't fight with anything else, either, so a big stick to hit things with sounds decent enough, if that's alright.

[blessed_by_the_world]

[She blinks in surprise at his answer, then giggles. She likes the really frank way he admitted that. Most adults tried to seem more capable in front of kids, so it's nice to know one who is willing to own up to a weakness.]

Sounds good to me.

[And she makes a sweeping gesture toward the park. Her nervousness fading, she's starting to get into this.]

Are you ready? Let's go see what we can find.

[silvercoins]

As ready as I'll ever be, it looks like.

I'll lead the way. [Since he had to be in front to hit things, he sucked in his stomach and started to approach the park.]

Okay.

[She follows him into the park, keeping a careful eye out for any potential enemies. After about ten minutes of walking in silence, she's almost disappointed. A few days ago, finding demons had been easy. They had been everywhere. (Of course, she had been cursed at the time, but she doesn't know that.) ]

Its kind of quiet tonight....

[But no sooner than the words are out of her mouth, when something comes charging out of the darkness. Caught by surprise, her first reaction is a somewhat undignified squeak of fright.]

[Judas is more than afraid as well, but just standing there will mean he dies and though the reflexes involved aren't the same as a suddenly-appearing enemy in a video game, quick reaction time is still key. He swings out with his staff, missing completely but also ensuring that the demon doesn't get to attack either of them without getting hit.]

[blessed_by_the_world]

[The Waira takes a step back to avoid the staff, growling menacingly. Akane recovers herself and hastily summons her persona.]

H- Hotei!

[In response to her call, a rotund spirit appears over her. Perhaps a little zio will cut the monster down to size? The lightning hits, but the demon is far from done. It is refocusing on Akane though. She and her lucky god seem to be the bigger threat.]

[He could run and save himself - it wouldn't be too late - but Judas puts himself in between Akane and the monster.

She hasn't done anything wrong. She deserves to be safe. He doesn't.]

Get back!

[And, just like that, a winged spirit of his own appears.]

I am thou, and thou art I...
I am Zagan, he who maketh metal into coins...

[Judas freezes for a moment at that.] Ah... um...

Y- you did it!! You really did it! That's your persona!

[In her thrilled excitement, she's almost forgotten the demon in front of them.

It hasn't forgotten them however. With a roar, it tries to hit both of them with a gale slash.]

[silvercoins]

[Judas certainly isn't in any state to avoid it, and he takes the attack full-on... even when he pulls himself off the ground, battered and bleeding, the first words out of his mouth are-] Coins, coins... ahah...

[Then he clears his throat.] Zagan-

[Apparently that's enough, because Zagan sends a burst of fire from the end of his staff towards the enemy.

EEEK!

[That attack catches her off guard as well, and she hits the ground hard. She can hear the waira's pained shriek when it was hit hit by the flames. It's on it's last legs, but Akane isn't sure the two of them can take another hit like that. So pushing herself up, she calls to her persona.]

Hotei! H- heal!

[A round of media should fix their wounds, at least.]

[silvercoins]

Th-thank you. [Judas raises his stick and Zagan raises his staff at the same time. In the same motion, Zagan brings it crashing down on the waira.]

[blessed_by_the_world]

[That last hit finally finishes it off. Once it's clear that the monster isn't getting up again, Akane breathes a long sigh of relief. Then she rushes over to Judas.]

Are you okay? Are you hurt?

[She only just realized what a dangerous position she's put him in. If something had happened to him, it would have been her fault.]

Not really...

[Well, he might be a little sore, but that's not his main concern right now.]

These things represent us?

[blessed_by_the_world]

Huh?

[Not the answer she was expecting. But she tries to answer anyway.]

Well, I think so. Or, at least, some part of us. Because I'm not much like a lucky god.

[She says that last bit with a small smile. When she looked up her persona in the library, she'd been just a little surprised.]

They had to pick my worst part.

[Judas sighs.] Do you want to go back?

[blessed_by_the_world]

Worst part....?

[She gives him a concerned frown, but nods.]

Okay.

[silvercoins]

Thank you.

[He bows a little stiffly.]

Without you who knows what would have happened.

[blessed_by_the_world]

[She looks away.]

Don't thank me. Without me you wouldn't have been out here fighting demons in the first place....

[And something about his persona upset him somehow. She's not sure what, but... she still feels guilty for making him sad.]

Sorry...

It'll be- it's alright. So, let's just go back. Okay?

[He can't afford to make anyone else upset.]

[blessed_by_the_world]

[She nods, and follows him in silence for several minutes. She knows something is wrong. And that it has something to do with his persona.

But what? When she finally speaks up, her voice is small, hesitant.]

Are you... really okay?

[silvercoins]

I'll be fine. [Future tense. He looks back at her.] I'm sorry to upset you.

[blessed_by_the_world]

No, it's okay, but...

[She looks up at him, still unconvinced.]

We... we can still be friends, right?

[silvercoins]

[Blinkblink.] Of course we can. I'm not upset at you.

[blessed_by_the_world]

[She lets out a sigh of relief.]

Good. I thought you might be mad because I dragged you out here and it was dangerous.

[Smiling again, she grabs his hand and starts heading back toward the apartments.]

Let's go.

[silvercoins]

[He curls hims fingers in hers and lets himself be lead.]

I think gentlemen drop ladies off first...

Okay~

[Her fears of losing her new friend assuaged, she feels pretty good about how the evening went.]

I'm in the Pisces apartments. Room five-oh-seven. It's next to the greenhouse!

Oh, you're on the floor beneath me. I'm six-oh-seven.

[Though shortly after this he moves in with Zoe in eight-oh-three.]

Really? Then we're neighbors!

[She giggles.]

But I don't know if our other neighbors will see it that way.

Well, then I guess they can be loud too. It's only fair.

[Akane was about to answer, but then notices the apartments coming into view.]

Well, here we are. It's getting sort of late, so I'd better get to bed. But we should hang out again sometime, okay?

[She waves to him and runs off into the building.]
