13th Hour: Exploring Options [SEMI-OPEN]
Who: Fire Emblem: Awakening cast! All of them. Also, YOU, if you want to be there and interrupt them! Shame on you.
Where: Libra Ward
When: Sunday, June 23rd, 13th Hour
Summary: Robin tries to organize battles in order to awaken everybody's personas... personae?
Warnings: Fantasy violence
Robin had called together the group for once purpose. Persona.
It was, supposedly, a power that those in this world possessed. And those brought into this world gained this power as well. The power to summon a manifestation of one's spirit.
Truth be told, there was no reason for them to require such power; even against the strongest enemies, Robin had faith they would prevail. But, at the same time, unknown factors didn't sit well with her. If they had these powers, Robin wanted - no, needed to know what they were, what they did. Even if they never used them again, she needed to have that knowledge.
And, frankly, it couldn't hurt their odds to have more power.
That's why they were outside, luring enemies into specified formations as Robin saw fit. It wasn't without risk, but risk was the key to drawing out an individual's persona. And Robin would make sure that everybody was easily able to support each other if a monster - a shadow - got too lucky.
Now to see if the strategy would pay off.
[ This isn't an open 13th hour log, but it is open to anybody who wants to drop in on the cast thinking they need help, or to wonder why they're deliberately luring out shadows like they are.
Feel free to make your own threads or subthreads. Awaken your persona! Woo! ]

GARGOYLE WARRIOR
It seemed like it would be slow, being a gargoyle and all, not to mention that huge axe - but it's surprisingly swift.
Not nearly swift enough to hit Robin, though, who evades its attempted blows with some fancy footwork.
Can this thing really be the key to awakening a persona...? ]

She is, at least, refraining from immediately setting it on fire so maybe this stupid Persona thing can work.]

Binding blade!
[It's not very effective...]

But nonetheless, she attacks, and does some damage! ]

...And it seems to be extremely unfazed. Aw man, is it coming at her now?]

Come on, beast! If danger brings about a Persona's awakening, then strike with all you have!
[ The thing is taking a swing of its axe at Robin. It's moving slower because of its injuries, though. ]

Just as the axe is about to swing over to Robin, Lucina puts herself between the monster and her mother, blocking the attack with her sword. ]

PERSONA TIME!? 1/2
Lucina! [ It was when she was moving to support her daughter that she felt it. She didn't feel it when she was being attacked herself, but now she felt another power residing in her.
And so... she called upon it. ]
Persona...!
2/2 :x
And then a black dragon, easily large enough to eat the Gargoyle Warrior and the entire group at once, appears over their heads. Grima.
And then he speaks. ]
I AM GRIMA... I AM DESPAIR... WE ARE ONE AND THE SAME...
[ After speaking those words, his form shrinks down, shrinking and twisting into a more human form. Clad in the same robes as Robin, except with the hood pulled up so only blackness could be seen instead of a face.
And then it uses Fear Touch, which seems to cause the Gargoyle to freeze up in fear.
As Grima fades away, Robin continues to stare wide-eyed... ]

...
...
...
...
...she opens her mouth to speak, pauses, and then takes a moment to throw some more fire at the gargoyle. Because it's still inexplicably alive.]
Robin, can we [you] not do that again?
[ROBIN WE'RE TRYING NOT TO SUMMON GRIMA, KTHNXBYE]

Grima?]
Gods!
[Fortunately years of surviving in a post-apocalyptic Risen wasteland had given Owain certain skills, among which was the ability to not drop his sword in surprise when surprising things happened.]
What did you do?!
[Summon a Persona, sure, but GRIMA. GRIMA. If he knew what Tharja was thinking he'd agree and then feel weird on the inside for agreeing with her.]

[ It's a good thing that the gargoyle is paralyzed, because she's too busy staring at the space where Robin's Persona -- Grima? Had been. ]
Mother! [ HOW IN NAGA'S NAME DID THAT JUST HAPPEN-- Is what she wants to ask, but Owain kind of covered that. So. ] Mother, are you alright?! [ Lucina is a good daughter. ]
