I'm your little butterfly

Who: Zoe Gallais and OPEN
Where: Capricorn District
Summary: Zoe has a quest that she needs to complete, but she's not that great at it.
Warnings: Possible hitting with nets will occur.

[The quest Zoe had been given by the Velvet Room involved catching a blue butterfly. So today Zoe was out in the Capricorn District trying to find said blue butterfly. Unfortunately, she doesn't have much experience with bug catching and tends to mostly been flailing around with the net she had be given.

So she apologizes in advance if she hits or nearly hits anyone with the net; she just really wants to catch the blue butterfly and nothing will stop her, even if that means hitting someone by accident. But she will also gladly welcome any help, since she does has very little idea about what she is doing.]

[Catching bugs was Sig's favorite pass time. But he sure wasn't expecting someone to hit him out of all the people with a bug net.]

Waahh... [He rubs the back of his head, confused, as he watches Zoe run around with the net.]

[Zoe glances over at Sig in surprise, as if only just noticing he was there, before she looks apologetic. She really needs to be careful.]

Oh, I am so sorry! Are you all right?

[Sig gives a nod. It's rare for Sig to show interest to anything, but that was only because Zoe was holding a bug net.]

What are you trying to catch?

[And she twirls said net in her hands, before pointing at a butterfly fluttering around.]

I was given the task to catch a blue butterfly. However, bug catching is something I know little of.

A butterfly?

[A smile spreads across Sig as he hears this. If one were to look closely, a faint blue blob with a smile might have appeared behind Sig for a moment.

He likes catching insects! He could be of help!]

I like catching bugs.

[Zoe catches sight of that blob and it makes her blink in surprise. But she's quick to shake the surprise off at what he says.]

Is that so? Would you be able to help me, then?

[Sig gives a nod, looking more energetic than usual, although that may be hard to see to those who didn't know him as much.]

I can help. [He then thinks for a bit. Blue butterfly... Butterflies are lured to flowers, something sweet. Fortunately, they were out in the perfect area of the city where there were more nature than elsewhere! He takes out his own net to help out.]

Butterflies fly around near flowers. It's easier to catch them when they rest on flowers.

[Blink. And then she gives him a few nods.] Oh yes, of course! I can't believe I did not think of that before...

[Zoe looks around, before pointing at a large patch of flowers nearby.] Shall we check there, first?

[He looks over at the direction she points, and gives a nod and a smile.] Looks like nice flower patch. Butterflies would like them a lot!

[As they move over, he realizes he should give some points in how to catch the butterflies as well.]

Easiest way is to stay still and wait. Grasshoppers catch butterflies like that. They wait and wait until a butterfly comes.

[To demonstrate, Sig sits down in a comfortable position and stays still, staring at the flower as he has his net in his hand, ready to move whenever. Sig takes bug-catching very, very seriously...]

[Zoe watches him, giving a small tilt of her head, before copying him and moving to sit still. She doesn't mind that he takes it so seriously, since he is helping her out with this.]

And then when it lands on a flower, we are able to catch it?

Yes. Butterflies take a little longer to fly into the air than beetles.

[And then, as if he remembered something, Sig digs into his bag and takes out a jar of honey and opens the cap.]

Honey is stronger smell so maybe bugs would come.

[Zoe 'Oooh's in understanding and nods a few times.]

I see, I see. Hmm, you really do know a lot about bug catching.

[Sig gives a smile in response.] Yes. I like bugs a lot. Catching bugs is my favorite pass time.

[Or that's all he did if he had all the free time, that is. Oh hey, some insects were starting to gather around the honey!]

Yeay, bugs. [For someone who apparently liked to catch bugs, his voice certainly didn't sound excited...]

[She curiously watches as insects gather around the honey, tilting her head slightly. The lack of excitement in his voice catches her attention too.]

Hmm, yet you do not sound too enthusiastic. [And she glances away from the insects to keep an eye out for a blue butterfly.]

Enthus...? [Sig tilts his head, unable to finish pronouncing such a hard word. Was she talking about his voice?]

How I talk? [He momentarily gets distracted as he finds a lady bug to catch.] Lady bug.

Zoe!

[ It should be noted that Mikale has called out to Zoe of his own free will. He may have hesitated and considered running, but in the end his friendliness won out. Kotoha would be so proud, right?

He waves, trying to get her attention. ]

Good day, Zoe!

[Zoe blinks over at Mikale, before smiling and waving back at him, now turning to walk backwards so that she doesn't lose the butterfly.]

Afternoon, Mika- Ack! [And then she trips over her feet and falls backwards onto the ground.]

Geh-- Sat-- [ Zoe actually, but that was such a Satou thing to do.

He follows after her and offers her a hand. ]

Are you okay?!

[Running backwards in high heels is never a good idea, even if Zoe does have good balance.

She does look rather embarrassed as she looks up and takes his hand, because ow her ego.] Embarrassed, but I shall be fine. I suppose I'm not as agile as I thought in high heels.

You should be more careful! Are you okay? How's your leg?

[ He reminds her so much of Satou right now, so he's quite worried. Satou wouldn't know her leg was hurt unless it got checked, since she can't feel it... ]

[Zoe rolls her shoulders and rubs the back of her neck before nodding.]

I am fine, and so is my leg. I am far tougher than how I look, so no need to worry.

Okay, good... [ He's not sure if he should believe her. As long as she can stand, though, surely she's telling the truth... ]

What are you doing?

[She is easily back on her feet again, and she brushes some grass from the back of her pants before looking back at him and holding up her net.]

I have been given the task of catching a blue butterfly... Sadly this is something I lack much knowledge in.

A blue butterfly? That's a strange task... I can help, if you need it?

I would very much appreciate it. I am not exactly sneaky enough to do this myself, sadly. [Zoe wouldn't know how to be sneaky even if it hit her in the face.]

Sneaking, huh? Well, I've never snuck up on butterflies... but I can try to help you with learning how to.

[ Not going to brag about his old jobs as a stalker/assassin. ]

Truly? Thank you very much, Mikale, I appreciate this!

[Hinata had been using one of the grassy areas to practice baseball, throwing a ball up in the air, then quickly swinging the bat into it. He'd only brought a few baseballs, so he'd end up hitting them all and needing to go collect them so he could continue practicing.]

[On one of his trips to collect the baseballs, he noticed a blue butterfly flitting around nearby, but thought nothing of it. Surely nothing catastrophic would happen if he just turned his back to it and continued loading up his arms with sporting goods, right?]

[While he's loading up on his sports goods, Zoe is focusing on trying to catch that butterfly. So she doesn't notice Hinata at all, and when she charges and misses catching the butterfly with her net, she ends up crashing into Hinata.

She'll apologize when she can get upright again.]

[He was bent over, retrieving a baseball when she crashed into him, sending him off balance and landing rather spectacularly on his face, sending baseballs rolling in all directions.]

Ow! Wha- [He put his hands to the ground, getting his face out of the dirt and looking over his shoulder, ready to lay into whoever had pushed him over...]

[Only to see that a cute girl had fallen over on top of him.]

[Oh.]

[The irritation was fleeting, doing a complete 180 and flashing her a grin.] Are you alright? I think I cushioned your fall...

[Zoe watches the butterfly flutter away for a moment, before realizing that she has crashed into someone and that he's... grinning at her?

She stares at him for a second, before quickly getting up onto her feet.]

I am so sorry! I am fine, but are you all right? [And just going to offer a hand to help him up.]

[He takes her hand as she offers it, trying not to tug too harshly on her as he lets her help him to his feet. It only takes a moment to dust himself off, although the dirt still stood out pretty strongly against the pale blue of his t-shirt.]

I'm fine! Don't worry~ [He announced, waving a hand at her dismissively. Never mind that he'd landed funny on his arm and it was sore, but she didn't need to know that.]

So ah... did you trip? [Surely there must have been a reason he ended up on the ground, right?]

[He'll find that she is far stronger than how she appears, since she easily pulls him to his feet. And since he looks and says that he's okay, besides the dirt on his shirt, Zoe relaxes a bit, motioning to the net in her hand.]

No, it's more like I was focused on something else and thus I... Didn't notice that you were there. [Now she looks sheepish.]

I should have paid more attention, so I apologize for that.

[She is stronger than she looks... he has to wonder if she's some kind of athlete.]

Don't worry about it! I've dealt with worse... [He cleared his throat to chase that line of thought away, grinning brightly.] What were you focusing on?

[He would be sort of correct in that assumption. And Zoe will just point to the butterfly fluttering some distance away.]

I was given the task to catch that blue butterfly. However I am very... Inexperienced when it comes to bug catching.

[He looks where she's pointing, seeing the blue butterfly in question fluttering some distance away. He hadn't tried bug-catching since he was a kid, but he'd played enough video games to have a half-baked idea.]

Maybe running and swinging at it is your problem... [Especially if she's doing it in a hazardous enough fashion to crash into people.] Have you tried baiting it and sneaking up on it?

[Zoe is sadly not the kind of person to be sneaky, so she usually tends to default to 'charge and hope for the best'.]

Not yet... Maybe I should wait and see if it lands on a patch of flowers first.

Ahh, I played a game once where you had to crouch down and sneak close to the ground, then pounce like a cat or something. Try that!

[Hinata... video game mechanics are not indicative of real life.]

[Zoe blinks at him before chuckling quietly, twisting her net in her hands slightly.]

Maybe I'll switch 'pounce like a cat' with 'strike out with my net'. Less chance of hitting my face in the dirt and flattening flowers that way.

[Guess what Zoe! You just caught a blue.......haired girl. She might be caught in the net, but Tachikoma stands there smiling. She's always happy to see her friends.]

Hi there! Are you trying to catch something with this net now?

[Blink. And then Zoe quickly pulls the net off of her.]

I'm so sorry! And, well, yes, I am. I was given the task to catch a blue butterfly.

[Tachikoma is hardly fazed, for all she knows, that's just how Zoe greets friends.]

That's okay! So what kind of blue butterfly? I think some species of the genus Charaxes or Morpho have some obviously blue wings. Does the body need to be blue too?
