Terra Firma (Newcomer + 13th Hour Log)
▼ All things change, and we change with them (13th hour & arrival log)
Where: The entire city
When: Month of July (date your post accordingly!)
Summary: This is both a Newcomer log AND a General 13th hour log
Warnings: That depends who is there. Remember to mark your titles clearly if any warnings need to be issued!
▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)
There had been a relative peace last month, apart from the fairy menace. The city was continuing to rebuild itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.
By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new opportunities; both good and bad.
To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.
Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.
Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little memento from home.
▼ Ode of the Newcomer
...hopefully anyway.
There is one word that stays with you, however.
Persona.
So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...
▼ Extra Long OOC Blurb
This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.
If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independent log if you'd like!
Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona ONCE PER IC WEEK, but not in the same thread IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).
If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).
FOR THE CREATURES: The creatures have to be in the Bestiary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]
DON'T FORGET TO TAG WITH YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME PLEASE.

She's looking for the owner of the cycle; they might be hurt, and with the 13th hour approaching, she wants to make sure they're okay.]
no subject
Well, there go his worries about werewolves. He's pretty sure there are no cyborg werewolves.]
Um. Sorry, am I trespassing? I just woke up here...
no subject
You ain't trespassin' as far as I know. But it ain't a good place to be napping for very long. In a couple ah hours things get a little hairy, ya know.
This belong ta you?
no subject
Don't need to tell me twice. I'm used to forests that get hairy at night - and staying out of them. Don't know how long I've been here, though. I definitely didn't go to sleep here.
Uh, yeah, the bike's mine. [It's a big blue touring motorcycle, with "Bayard" painted on the side.] Uh, can I ask where I am, exactly? I don't recognize the skyline.
[He nods in the direction of the buildings in the next sector.]
no subject
Oh, that explains why you were sleepin' here. Better than other spots, I guess. This is Hinoto-Ri. If you don't know about it, that makes you a Visitor like me. This here's the Central Park area.
no subject
[So he's in Japan somewhere. And apparently people just turn up in this city a lot. Wonderful.]
no subject
[Labrys doesn't know much about life outside of Japan for the short time she's been conscious to experience it, so it all seems normal to her.]
Where are ya from?
no subject
[Well, that's not good news at all. He's just going to... stand here next to his bike. It's familiar, so it's comforting.]
Metatropolis, Illinois. In, uh, the United States.
no subject
Wait, you saw'em too? I guess he's the real deal...
Wow, you're a really long way from home! [She brightens considerably. She's never met someone from outside of Japan that is from a world similar to hers, so this is pretty cool.
Whoops, lost track of things. Unusual for a robot, unless you're Labrys.]
We should probably get you and your bike outta here. It's not safe to be out and about during the 13th Hour.
no subject
[Maugris isn't used to having real dreams.]
Yeah, I guess so. Not that home was in great sh-
... Wait. What do you mean, the 13th Hour? It can't possibly be much after nine. Probably earlier...
Um... It's just after sunset. Probably not much after nine.
no subject
At night, demons come out. Some of them are just out to pull your leg and prank ya, but a lot of them are pretty dangerous. A lot more of the bad ones are out during the 13th Hour, which comes after midnight here. A few strange buildings come out too. You'll know it's coming when the natives start headin' to their homes.
no subject
[He doesn't look particularly pleased either way. He also doesn't look too terribly frightened, though.]
And what does "Persona" have to do with it? Does that word mean something different here?
no subject
[A level head is good. If he'd been panicking at the first encounter, she'd have approached this a little differently.]
Well, it means what you're probably thinkin', yeah. [She's learned that much in school here. An alterego. Maybe another identity.] But it's got a double meaning in my world and here as well. You ever have feelings or emotions that you hide from other folks? Or do you act differently in certain situations?
no subject
[Honestly, he's still sort of running on adrenaline from killing big scary demons in his world, even if adrenaline isn't really a thing he's had for a couple decades now and he's been asleep since then.]
Well, yeah. I'd be kind of shocked if I met someone that didn't, especially the second one.
no subject
Well, that part of you's the basis of your persona. My friends call that a shadow. So long as you accept that your shadow's a part of who you are, it turns into your persona, and it'll come out when ya need help here. They're pretty handy for fighting off the demons, but they can do other stuff too.
[Hopefully she hasn't lost him.]
no subject
... Accepting my shadow's part of me doesn't mean I have to like it, does it?
[He wonders vaguely if the Beast counts as part of his shadow. He's guessing not, mostly because he doesn't think "eat everything and smash everything else" counts as an emotion.]
no subject
[Briefly she frowns and looks at the ground, but straightens back up. That part is over. She's accepted it. But it's definitely not something she enjoyed.]
I don't think anybody does. But whatever ya do, don't deny that it exists. I know that's kinda weird and it might be askin' a lot, but I don't know if it'll cause the same sorta problems it did where I'm from.
no subject
[This is sounding more and more like a bigger hassle than just fighting the monsters in the first place.
Luckily being in charge of a bunch of vampires has given Maugris plenty of time to be apprised of the less savory bits of his personality.]
no subject
But all that took place in a certain place, and I don't think it exists here. But it's better to prevent any fighting from going on, y'know?
[Telling this guy about the TV World might discredit her information.]
I've been gabbin' enough. You should probably check in with the city officials so they can get you a place to stay.
no subject
Right. Fair enough. Um, two questions. One, where do I do that, and two, will they be open this late?
[This is a pressing question, because if they aren't then Maugris is in a bit of a bind what with the whole "no daylight" thing.]
no subject
The town hall in Leo district is where you wanna go. I dunno the hours, but if they're closed, you could stay at the Amagi Inn for the night.
[And she highly recommends it. After all, it's been run solely by friends of hers.]
no subject
I guess I'll have to go check. Hopefully if they're closed I can ask the security guys about the hours or something. I mean, I'm assuming there is security.
You, uh, might have to be a little more specific. Just got here, remember? How do I get to Leo district from here?
no subject
Ah, right! I don't know all the differences between life in the United States and Japan, heh...um, there's a few ways to get there. It's to the south. I usually walk or fly, but there's a metro underground, and some people use the tram.
[She turns around and points to the track. Things are a bit quieter at night.
She points over his shoulder to his bike.]
If ya got some gas in there, you could follow me there too.
no subject
... Wait, fly? [He glances at her. Well, there are those robot limbs... she might have a jetpack or something in there, if she's more machine than girl. He's still working on the impression that there's something organic in there.]
