▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

 

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

There had been a relative peace last month, apart from the fairy menace. The city was continuing to rebuild itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new opportunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little memento from home.

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefully anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[ This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts.

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independent log if you'd like!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona ONCE PER IC WEEK, but not in the same thread IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES: The creatures have to be in the Bestiary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

[By now the bewildered expression of a new arrival is familiar to many of the city's residents. Although this one might seem slightly more panicked than most.

A few seconds ago she'd been facing down her former friends in a fight for the fate of the world. And now she was... abducted by some cosplay weirdo? Or... was that a dream? And she's in an unfamiliar city staring up at a statue of......

Was that Frosty? What kind of city erects statues of demons? She does not like the implication. ]

Okay, now I know I'm dreaming! There is no way this is real.

[Right? She wouldn't really get whisked away in the middle of a very important fight to save some other city. That only happened in manga. Lousy manga.]

Hey! Butterfly cosplay guy! You'd better send me back! Right now!

[It's worth a shot...]

[If she thinks that's the surprising part, she should turn around.

Some gigantic masked woman has covered a large amount of a building in that direction with paper-like hair. It motions with its mismatched hands and a pair of oddly crown-shaped tentacle monsters appear out of nowhere.

They may not have faces, but their masks betray a clear intent to harm.

From an entirely different direction comes someone that's clearly human but isn't wearing anything a modern Japanese person would consider something other than a cosplay outfit. She doesn't appear to have noticed the giant Shadow either...]

[She gapes at the demons(because they have to be demons, right?) for a split second before scrambling for her comp.]

Oh, that is just not fair!

[Stupid butterfly weirdo. She's blaming him for this. Just as she's calling out her demons (Amaterasu and a troll/ info in her app )she notices someone else approaching. Another cosplayer? What, is there a convention or something?]

Hey! It's dangerous here! Run!

Yuuuuzuuuuuuu!!! Is this OK or were you planning to do this solo?

[Wow, someone new arriving during the 13th Hour. What bad luck. Fortunately, Atsuro had been roaming around the vicinity for no particular reason, and so when the notification comes in, he immediately changes course to make a beeline for the person in question. ...Not that they're terribly hard to find, given that he realizes quickly he is also making a beeline for some sort of giant monster.

It isn't until he is quite close that he realizes what he is looking at.]

Yuzu...?! Yuzu!

[The seriousness of the situation is conveyed by the fact that he actually uses her name. He dashes towards her as quickly as he can.]

[That outfit looks familiar... the person in that outfit looks familiar...!]

Yuzu! You're here!

[And the person almost tackle-hugging Yuzu should look very familiar, given that she's wearing the cosplay outfit she came to Hinoto-Ri in.]

Midori!

[That's okay, Yuzu is hugging right back. She was worried that she'd been pulled away leaving Midori facing off against their friends all alone.]

You're okay! Did that butterfly guy get you too?

Yeah, he got all of us! Everyone who isn't a local I mean. Did you just get here?

Yeah, a second ago I was...


Wait. All of us? What does that mean?

I mean all of the visitors to Hinoto-Ri, the city we're in, were brought by Butterfly Guy. His name's Philemon by the way. He's like, um, you know that guy in the show who says 'recruit a team of teenagers with attitude!' He's that guy and we're the teenagers with attitude.

[This is a really good explanation obviously.]

So.... we were kidnapped... into some crazy sentai show?

[She's wondering if Midori hit her head or something.]

What happened to.... Kazuya? And Atsuro?

[Surely the 'King of Bel' or his followers wouldn't get kidnapped. Right?]

Minus costumes, basically.

[Calmly:] Oh, they're both here.

[Atsuro, at least, is definitely a good guy.]

They are?

[A complicated mix of emotions assails her all at once. She's glad they're here. But then again, after everything that's happened, she doesn't even know if they're still friends anymore. She wants to talk to them, but doesn't have any clue what she'd say. And she's kind of dreading having to talk this out. So while she definitely looks surprised, and maybe a little relieved, her expression is far from happy.]

Are they.....

[still using their powers against other humans? still planning to fight against God?]

...okay?

[No. This isn't Tokyo, right? So there's no lockdown, no angels, and no reason to do any of that. Right?]

Well... um... They're okay, but... Okay, listen. This is going to be hard to explain, but sometimes, this place pulls people from different versions of the same world. Like, there was a version of the lockdown where Kazuya listened to Atsuro's plan and decided to hack into Babel, and that's where Atsuro and I are from. Kazuya's from a different timeline.

[pretty_pink_ribbon]

Wha-? Wait! Wait, stop!

[This is starting to sound like a bad sci-fi movie. Yuzu can't even keep up with how ridiculous this is.]

What are you talking about? Different versions of the world? You're saying you came from a different world than me?

[prettytamer]

Yeah, I have! 'Cause, I've been here for months and months, and you probably just saw me, so it's the only explanation that makes sense!

[She'll try to slow down for you, Yuzu.]

[pretty_pink_ribbon]

M-months?!? No, that's impossible! We were in the middle of a fight. There's no way that...

[She pauses for a second.]

You've been here for months and you're still wearing that outfit? This place isn't in the middle of a lockdown too, is it?

[/priorities.]

[prettytamer]

Um, no? I wear other clothes, I just like this one and I was wearing it today.

...What's wrong with this outfit?

Nothing! Just....

[Hmm, nice way to put this, nice way to put this....]

Isn't cosplay more something you do on.... special occasions?

[Like conventions or whatever?]

But never mind that. Let's go back to the part where we come from different worlds.

[prettytamer]

[Well, if you're dropping the subject, she'll drop it too.]

Philemon pulls us all from different worlds. Like, one of my best friends here is a robot.

[pretty_pink_ribbon]

A robot...?

[She about to ask but then shakes her head.]

No, forget it. I don't even want to know. Tell me about the world you came from. You said Atsuro was from the same one, right?

[prettytamer]

Mhm! Kazuya decided to go along with Atsuro's plan, and we got Naoya to help us hack into Babel and use it to return all the demons to wherever they came from. So, the lockdown's over!

[pretty_pink_ribbon]

That... that worked? So then... he didn't have to...

[Kill people. Become the king of Bel. None of that was necessary. They could have ended the lockdown and not sacrificed their friendship. The realization is like a vice around her chest.]

We could have saved everyone. It was all pointless...

[prettytamer]

[That expression on Yuzu's face suggests that her line of events didn't go so well.]

What's, um. What's your timeline like?

Kazuya... became the King of Bel.

[She lets that statement hang in the air for a moment before continuing.]

So the angels didn't lift the lockdown. And they convinced a lot of people to attack him. But he killed them all. Last I saw him he...

[She pauses, but forces herself to continue.]

I think he was going to challenge God. We were... trying to stop him.

[That decision was no easy one, and it's obvious that this is a tough topic for her.]

[When Yuzu finishes speakng, Midori lets her have a moment before hugging her again.]

Your timeline sucks.
