Omnia Mutantur Nos Et Mutamur In Illis (Newcomer + 13th Hour Log)
▼ All things change, and we change with them (13th hour & arrival log)
Where: The entire city
When: May 8th - May 14th
Summary: This is both a Newcomer log AND a General 13th hour log
Warnings: That depends who is there. Remember to mark your titles clearly if any warnings need to be issued!
▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)
The Taurus monster had come and pass, as had Golden Week. The city was rebuilding itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.
By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.
To keep the population safey, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside during the next few nights and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.
Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.
Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little momento from home.
▼ Ode of the Newcomer
...hopefull anyway.
There is one word that stays with you, however.
Persona.
So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...
▼ Extra Long OOC Blurb
This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.
If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independant log if you'd like!
Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).
If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).
FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]
DON'T FORGET TO TAG WITH YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME PLEASE.

Alex Mercer | AU1 | Leo Ward | May 12th | Open
There's no sense in standing around thinking in circles, what he needs right now is information. Sure he knows the basics but more details would have been nice. A functioning city means people, people means housing, markets, bureaucracy, entertainment, all places people gather. All he has to do is find the centers of this activity and pick out the people who look like they know what's what. Sure he could just question any random passerby on the street but he'd prefer getting as much information with as little interaction as possible. No way to tell what these people are normally like or if there are any familiar faces that have been dragged in too. If it came down to it he could probably take whatever these people had to throw at him should he end up making a bad reputation very quickly, but he'd rather not deal with that. So the less people he talked to the better.
Of course with Alex's luck being what it is he manages to find what is both possibly the most helpful place to be and the place that will be his least favorite. He might not know what it's called, but one look around the Leo ward is enough to give a good idea what it's for. A nerve center of bureaucracy and possibly law, if they practiced that here. For all he knew the courthouse looking structure could just be where they do executions or performed sacrifices to their worm god, or played bingo, whatever, it didn't matter. Either things weren't what they seemed in which case, yippy, status qua maintained, or they were. If they were he wasn't exactly sure he was ready to handle the looming specter of establishment.]
Please, please let it be a ritual hall. [Alex taps his foot while glaring up at the building, sinking back into thought. Maybe he should just turn around and find somewhere less official feeling to scrounge up information, at least for now? Instead of coming to any conclusion though he's going to be standing there for awhile, glaring at a a building and seeming generally annoyed.]
no subject
[The answer comes from behind Alex, from an oddly-dressed man with a staff who honestly looks like he'd be more at home at a renaissance fair than in a city like this. Strange as he looks, the man appears to be quite amiable, though one might wonder where he came from, since he wasn't among the other people in the area before.]
no subject
Oh you know, naked dances under the full moon, blood sacrifices to some unspeakable horror from beyond during the eclipse, communion wafers on Sunday, that kind of thing.
no subject
[Xellos makes a 'hmm' noise, and taps at his chin before shaking his head.]
Alas, I'm afraid that this hall serves a much more nefarious and sinister purpose than those things. Something truly horrible and fiendish!
no subject
[Alex quirks an eyebrow and crosses his arms.]
If what you're saying is true, then it really is a courthouse.
no subject
Exactly! Of all the things I've witnessed in my time, truly none is as terrible as this and its relatives.
[As he says that, Xellos motions vaguely to the Leo district as a whole - and despite his joking nature, well, he certainly means it.]
no subject
I'm sure it's enough to make your head spin, Squints. [Admittedly not his best work, but this guy hasn't really given him that much to go on.] So I take it that you're not a local?
no subject
[Xellos considers the nickname a moment before chuckling a bit at it. While not flattering, it certainly beat some other nicknames he'd had thrown his way before.]
You would be quite correct on that front - much like yourself, I'm not of this world!
no subject
[Alex reaches up to his neck and tugs on the black collar around his neck.]
So I have to ask, does this thing look familiar to you?
no subject
[The collar, however, gets a curious look, even if it doesn't seem like Xellos' eyes are open. And for once in his life, he's going to give a straight answer.]
I believe I've seen a handful of individuals that have collars like that, actually.
no subject
[For the first time in the conversation Alex actually serious, perhaps even a little bothered. He probably won't like the answer no matter what it is.]
no subject
I may, I may not have - I wasn't exactly taking notes of people's features when I saw them. I simply thought it an odd fashion statement of some other world.
no subject
I wouldn't tell any of the others with collars that theory to their face, they might take it the wrong way.
no subject
[Xellos wonders why - though he has a hunch as to why. Time to test it, in a roundabout way.]
Well, if that's the case, they may want to reconsider wearing them - after all, people are going to draw conclusions and likely ask questions based on them!
[If these collars aren't voluntary, well, that should certainly provoke a rather telling response.]
no subject
If you want to know what the deal with them is you could just come out and ask. The beating around the bush bullshit gets old real fast.
no subject
I suppose I could, but where's the fun in that, hmm?
no subject
[Oh, look. The speaker is a woman in brown-and-tan robes, leaning on a stair railing and looking at Mercer with her head cocked. Honestly, Revan's only been watching him for a few seconds, once it was obvious he was just going to glare at the courthouse like it was a personal insult.]
You could go inside, you know. It's a building, it won't bite.
no subject
[Boy those robes look kind of familiar, he can't quite place them though. Alex puts it aside though, she just gave him something to latch onto.]
I assume Capicorn is another section of this city?
no subject
One of twelve. This place is pretty huge. [She holds out a gloved hand.] The name's Revan.
no subject
Alex Mercer, and I'm just trying to get my bearings. [He shakes the offered hand without hesitation. The level of politeness is a little odd to him, but it's a welcome oddity.] Have you been here long, Revan?
