It begins. A strange aura spreads out over Hinoto-Ri, stealing into the hearts, minds, and mouths of every denizen of the city, changing them - embiggening their souls with the power of TRUTHINESS.

For one week, Hinoto-Ri becomes a city where no lies can exist. Who is responsible for this? Will their dedication to ABSOLUTE TRUTHINESS bring them victory...or defeat?

[Nano can't help but tear up a little too as she cradles Desco in her arms, patting her on the head.]

Everyone makes mistakes, even family. But families forgive each other, too...

Desco sniffs a few times before replying, still clinging to Nano.

"R-really? S-so Big Sis...Big Sis won't hate Desco?"

[Fumi's there at JP's just like usual as Minako enters, typing away on her console. She doesn't even glance up from the monitor when she hears her coming.]

Miyako.

"Same old," Shura says, looking the man over. "Booze, sex and drugs, and me procrastinating on my summer homework." She hadn't meant to say that last part out loud. "If you're trying to flirt with me, I'm actually lying my ass off when I tell guys I'm married." Whoa there. Her eyes widen as she covers her mouth with one hand.

Shura realizes quickly that she's being followed when her usual avalanche of Frosts scatters at the sight of Desco. Still, she waits until she's in a more deserted location to slow down and stop.

"What do you want, Desco."

A burst of bullets later, Gale is all yours, Desco.

"Social graces I have learned here tell me I should thank you. I do not know why you remain 'friends' with me, but I accept this present."

Energy surges through his Atma brand and he turns into Vayu, then picks up the head to lick the skin off with his rough tongue.

"Desco has decided to inform you that she is no longer holding a grudge for the time you unreasonably picked a fight with her."

[angryyoungvamp]

"No thanks, haven't been much interested in that since I became a vampire -" He pauses, mutters something that sounds very uncomplimentary in French, and sighs.

"Forgot about that. Yeah, the truth thing is irritating. Thankfully I haven't let the vampire thing slip to anybody who has a problem with it - well, unless you do."

[tyrantball]

Desco grins.

"Desco prefers to surround herself with interesting people so she doesn't get bored, and you don't try to stop her from raiding your fridge!"

[prettytamer]

"Magic isn't weird to me anymore! But it might still be weird, I guess. Sorta."

She's confused on this point too.

[prettytamer]

"I don't think you're easily upset, but I just overcompensate when it comes to important people."

Good job, Aggie.

No problem! I know you're not going to ask anyone any mean questions.

The Commander half expected the boy to attack him when he pulled that sword out - probably what he would've done, not let the enemy plan out a first move. He was already getting ready to fight Lucas, defeat him before pulling information out of him - he's confident he could manage it unless the boy's teammates showed up too. ...doesn't matter, though, information is more important than a victory, and as long as he doesn't admit to himself that he's ashamed of his earlier loss in front of the temple he can't justify an attack just because, it's not as efficient.

If the boy doesn't answer his questions, that'll be enough of a reason. Until then, the Commander can avoid hostilities.

He stops just out of range of a physical attack - but finally within hearing distance - lifting his sword up from his side slightly in a clear threat. "..."

"What is this place?" If Lucas needed more proof that this was the Commander, not Claus, this would've been it. The speech patterns are all wrong, far too controlled and flat. "...why are you here?"

He considers asking specifically about Needles, too, but - no. The last Needle was still being unearthed below New Pork City, last he heard. The boy wouldn't have come here to pull one, not unless there's a mysterious eighth Master Porky didn't hear about.

"Im - impor -"

You can almost hear the steam coming out of her ears right now.

"I-I do not understand why it is okay to say things like that so freely! Well, given that everyone is unable to lie at the moment it is understandable, but it is still a surprise to hear that from you. - Uh, not a bad surprise, but it's still a surprise!"

[prettytamer]

"It's a little weird saying everything without thinking about it, but I'd probably call you important even if this wasn't going on, 'cause you are."

How red can Agatha get? This is the weirdest event.

"You...are...very important to me as well."

Cue Agatha becoming a hermit for the next few weeks after this wears off.

"That makes me really happy!"

Midori will come visit her then.

"That's...good, then?"

"It's always good for your important people to like you the same way."

We have to be careful of what we say and ask. It's bothersome because it took away some form of control from me.

"You know, in these kinds of stories, the plucky investigative report usually ends up managing to bridge the gap between cultures and opening up a brave new world of vampire-human friendship. You could give it a go and see what happens." ...She was probably joking. Phantom Girl resumes floating and drifts a few feet away.

"Honesetly, though. You're playing referee right now, and it's working, but... How long do you really think you guys can keep it going? What will happen when it breaks down?"

[With only that as a warning cry, there is suddenly a rain of medium Almighty damage upon the zombies. Not far behind, Aoi comes jogging up, a naginata in hand.]

Are you alright-?

Yurick sits up, looking a lot less tired now.

"You've been here that long? Bloody hell...." He rests his head in one hand for a moment, processing that bit of information. "We arrived not quite three months ago. I thought that was a long time, but it seems I was wrong. Not a comforting thought."

Yurick tends to gripe in order to hide fear, and right now he's deeply afraid. Between what he learned from Atsuro and now Naoya, the trap of Hinoto-Ri feels more and more constricting.
