It begins. A strange aura spreads out over Hinoto-Ri, stealing into the hearts, minds, and mouths of every denizen of the city, changing them - embiggening their souls with the power of TRUTHINESS.

For one week, Hinoto-Ri becomes a city where no lies can exist. Who is responsible for this? Will their dedication to ABSOLUTE TRUTHINESS bring them victory...or defeat?

[After a fateful meeting with someone unexpected, Lucas had continued walking, his mind still lost in a whirl of emotion. Around every corner, he hoped to spot a certain person bearing a helmet and a sword... But it soon became obvious that the Masked Man was long gone. For those around Hinoto-Ri today, a young boy, about 12 or 13, can be seen wandering around the city aimlessly, a mingled expression of exhaustion and melancholy on his face. It is fairly obvious from his dirt-streaked cheeks and his reddened eyes that he has been crying.

Eventually, he will realize he cannot keep walking forward. He is too tired, even, to be shy and so he will approach without fear.]

[And Kanji is not that experienced with crying kids. He's actually pretty bad at them, wanting to tell them to man up a bit but..he can't help but think of his own memories and the girl who cried after her sewed his bag and....

She laughs after a few moments of looking disgruntled, though.

"I'm going to grab some dinner first - do you eat normal food at all?"

[Were there other cities besides Hinoto-Ri? Lucas blinks for a moment or two, slightly confused.]

I'd like to get to one of the apartment buildings, please.

[His voice is scratchier than he would like it to be. He clears his throat slightly.]

[Minako was just out shopping in Virgo ward today but - this poor kid. Did he lose his parents?]

Of course! Where are you trying to get to?

[He can manage small, polite smile, at least, in response to offered help. Lucas tries not to think about how he must look right now.]

[Suddenly all knowledge of the city districts have escaped his mind.]

The one in... Ah. I-It... It sounds like 'pie'... A bit.

He shakes his head. "Some vampires can, but I never got the hang of it. Not like we get anything out of it, anyway. Thanks for asking, at least."

He ignores the first odd remark, partly because he knows his own comment was kind of asinine, and partly because he isn't sure whether she's joking or just having cultural issues with sarcasm.

"...Didn't you start off eating normal food? I would've thought it would stick around for the ride or something."

Not that she knew anything about vampire physiology.

"I'll see you later, then. And I'll let you know if I hear anything."

There's a kid watching Dojima warily from across the street. He himself hasn't noticed the truthiness yet - there was - a weird thing a little while back, but he's trying very hard not to think about that, thanks very much. As far as he knows it was just a glitch, anyway.

Dojima looks... official. Someone who'd know stuff. And not too dangerous, probably. The Commander hesitates for a second longer, then straightens his shoulders and forces himself to cross to in front of Dojima and try to catch his attention. He needs to stop being so nervous about everything here, no matter what happened. He's Master Porky's Commander.

"...can you give me directions to the apartments in the..." he pauses for a moment, to remember the name, "...Libra Ward?"

"Digestive system doesn't work right anymore; technically I'm dead. Mostly dead, anyway; we've sort of had debates about that back home."

Thankfully doesn't stop to explain what would have happened to what was sticking around when he was Embraced; that would be a good way to make sure she stopped being hungry quickly.

He nods. "Right, see you later. I'll do the same."

13th Hour

[Lucas wasn't generally the type to work out his frustrations with violence. ...Lucas wasn't generally the type to be frustrated at all. But there was a first time for everything and staying bottled in his room thinking about what had happened that day was driving him out of his mind.]

Why do you want to hurt people...? What does it even get you?

[The boy holding the stick doesn't even seem to be trying to use a strategy. He simply wails on his target, over and over, heedless of the attacks striking him between his blows.]

If this is how it has to be, then... Then I can be strong. I'll be strong, too...

…I see. Well, if it’s company you need, I don’t mind. I’ve been missing my friends from home as well ever since I came here, but I just can’t bring myself to abandon this city either.

[He takes a deep breath, trying to calm himself.]

[Lucas casts his eyes downwards and flushes slightly as he rubs at his eyes again. There was no good going about looking like a complete mess.]

Um. ...You don't have to go out of your way - I can follow directions pretty well. I don't want to trouble you.
